Lewdown is a quiet, rural village.
Lewdown is a quiet, rural village. You probably wouldn't stay there for itself; I chose Lewdown as it was near to the venue of the course I was attending and it suited me for that reason. The village is set in wonderful countryside. The landlord (and customers) at the popular Blue Lion Pub were very helpful and gave me very good directions to the B&B as I was somewhat lost/tired after 4 hours of driving!!

The location is great for a gateway to Devon.the staff are very knowledgable about local walks and attractions. The hotel services are second to none, very dog friendly although dogs are not allowed in the restaurant private rooms are made available so dogs do not have to be left in the rooms at meal times. Our room was quite well decorated but some of the furniture rather more worn than atmospheric. The courtyard and tables at the front of the hotel are very nice for pre-dinner drinks. The location is very good as a base as well as being attractive. The staff were generally helpful and supportive.
