Made famous for its “hills alive with the sound of music”, Salzburg is a very pretty town filled with romantic buildings and squares. If you are not yet aware that Mozart was born here, then you will be as soon as you land at Salzburg W.A. Mozart International Airport.
Further your education about this musical prodigy at his actual birthplace, Mozarts Geburtshaus. The city is the namesake of the Salzach River which runs through it, and alongside this beautiful river lays the Schloss Mirabell, one of the many impressive castles within the city limits. Schloss Mirabell and Hellbrunn with their picturesque gardens, beautiful galleries and impressive halls make the ideal spot for a picnic during summer.
The white-stone Hohensalzburg fortress is perched upon a green hill and offers magnificent views over the city. Or, you can escape it all in the Kapuzinerberg forest, which offers splendid Alpine vistas- a reminder of Salzburg’s natural beauty.
The shopping centre focuses around Alter Markt Square and Getreidegasse, the latter is a quirky street with old-fashioned signs indicating what each store sells. With 125 hotels and guesthouses available on Booking.com, your stay in Salzburg is bound to be as pleasant as this city is pretty.
Beautiful scenery. Fun Sound of Music tour taken with Panorama tours (I’d recommend them). Lots of interesting places to view and visit. Great for walks and cafe/bar stops along the routes. We went by train to Vienna for a day trip and took a bus tour around the city. A full day and a little tiring but well worth it. Reception staff at the hotel booked the train and taxi tickets for us which was very helpful.

Nice ambience, small area easy to cover on foot.
Nice ambience, small area easy to cover on foot. Friendly young restaurant owners/workers, lots of alt places to check out (Afro Café, Genusswerkstatt) it doesn't always have to be the Sacher!
This is a nice apartment complex with very modern facilities. We had superior 2 room apartment with Kitchen. The facilities were very clean and comfortable and quite specious. The staff is very courteous and helpful. The apartment is about 15 mins walk from the Mirabell Palace. There is a very convenient bus stop right in front of the hotel and the bus routes 1,2 and 23 takes you to the old town. The Salzburg main railway station is about 5 min walk.
There is an excellent Italian restaurant around the corner.
This hotel was perfect for me. The location is excellent, just 5 minutes walk from the train station, and 10 minutes walk to Mirabell Palace and Gardens, which is just out side of the Old Town. The Old Town is not big, and has most of the attraction to see in Salzburg. Breakfast is included in the price, and is very good. It has all your breakfast needs, and I could not ask for more. My room was a single, small, but very nice and clean. I was very satisfied and happy with my stay, and will certainly stay again.
Hotel Cocoon is located a short walk from the Main Train Station in Salzburg and a little over 15 minutes from the Old City Center. The hotel was quiet and conducive to a good night's sleep. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the facilities are clean and attractively decorated. The bathroom is modern with a nice shower. We liked the free bottles of water available from the front desk. I would stay there again when visiting Salzbug.
The room was nicely furnished and with 3 beds we still had plenty of room to move around. We were happy with parking being located right out front of the building. The breakfast was very tasty and the space was nice. If you are using the metro system to come in to Salzburg, this is your hotel.
We liked that the toilet room and the shower room were separate places. Travelling with a teen, this was a really convenient feature.
Everything about our recent stay was fantastic. The property is immaculately clean, the staff were incredibly helpful and the hotel itself is perfectly located in Salzburg with the old town being just a short walk away. The breakfast at Hofwirtz is incredible too. Not just pastries and coffee, but countless options to start your day with a full belly.
Very good accommodation close to the main railway station of Salzburg, some 30 min walk to the old town.
If check-in is later than 3pm, they provide all the information for self check-in. Some free parking slots available in front of the hotel, otherwise there are other parkings nearby. Very good breakfast, efficient wifi and comfortable rooms.
An excellent choice in Salzburg, just 5 minutes from the city centre by bus. The bus stop is 1 minute from the hotel and two frequent bus lines can be used. The ticket for the bus is included in the Salzburg card.
As for the hotel, it was clean and the staff was very polite. Finally, the breakfast was very rich.
Beautiful modern hotel. Affordable and well located with incredible view of the city. Just 15 minutes away from the city center. Luxury room filled with high tech and a super cool shower. Breakfast is served on the 15th floor and is outstanding. Great place to stay if you visit ever Salzburg.
Comfortable. Felt at home.
Super clean.
Bus station next to hotel taking us to city centre without difficulties.
Receptionist gave us all the information that we required.
Salzburg card was easily purchased from the hotel.
Breakfast was good - very good choice and it was very fresh.
We liked the location of the hotel. The bus stop is just in front of the hotel from where you have direct bus lines to Salzburg train station. Also, you can walk to the old town and many attractions.
The staff was very friendly and was always helpful for any of your requests.
The location of the hotel is lovely, it's on the river just south of the city centre. You can walk along the river into Salzburg in 30 mins and it is a lovely walk. The staff are fantastic, very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is great with amazing local dishes.
Location to explore Salzburg was perfect. Goldgasse is very central in the Old Town. Lovely boutique hotel. Very comfortable room. Superb breakfast offering. Ulrike is the best hotel hostess I have ever come across. She was wonderful. Worth every penny.
The room was nice, modern and had a view of the Salzburg. I loved the rooftop bar, make sure you go for a drink when there. A big plus was the parking garage, since I came by car. The hotel is a short walk to the city centre.
The Staff was very helpful. I left my passport in Munich and the reached out to tho old hotel and it was sent to me by the next morning. The hotel is super close to the Salzburg HBF train station making travel easy.
Nice place to stay for a visit to Salzburg. Very convenient to the bus stop to the city centre (the bus stop is literally a few steps away from the hotel). Generous breakfast, very nice and kind staff.
I was excited to stay in this hotel in the old town of Salzburg.
Check in was good- the room was good, the bathroom was cold, but all in all the old building is well maintained.
Very good hotel for transiting Austria or for a visit to Salzburg and Tirol area. The stuff was very friendly. We liked very much the contactless check-in.
