This place is about 5 to10mins drive from the nearest main road. Seems like a quiet farm area to me. The key is self collection and you are able to park your vehicle on the premise for free. Everything is so comfy here and it is getting real dark during night hence make it a good spot for aurora hunting. Got the necessary facility in the unit as well. We are the sole guests during that night so can't really comment on soundproofing part that we read from other comments. Overall I would say it is a good place to spend your night at Iceland

Wonderful Hidden Gem of a Hotel and Breakfast was OUTSTANDING
Rooms are quiet and comfortable and well maintained and upgraded.
Shower was a little tight and needs some update to make a little safer for people stepping in and out. A grab bar or better flooring would help.
But overall WELL DONE

Hvolsvöllur is a small town (village?), but you can find restaurants, petrol station, supermarket here, therefore ideal base of excursions -for instance to the Golden Circle (North West) or Vik region (South West).
Nevertheless there is a very special facility, the Lava Centre which much be visited definitely.

Hvolsvöllur has plenty of good accommodation and a good grocery store. Very nice swimming pool as well. So its a good place for a base to travel from on day trips. Eldstó restaurant is a very friendly small place with great burgers and soups. Local attractions available.

The owners were very friendly.
The owners were very friendly. They help us even at midnight. The apartment was big, clean, enough for 6 people. The place was near by the Golden circle, Black beach and other attractions. Definitely recomend it.

The proximity to the ferry for the Westman Islands was the reason we chose this property - it was only 10mins drive from the ferry terminal. Additionally, the property is 1km from Seljalandfoss, meaning you can visit away from the busiest times of day. The cabins were literally on the ring road, making it easy to find but no need to worry about noise. A very good place to stay the night and enjoy all the amazing attractions between Seljanlandfoss and Vik.

The Lava Center is a phenomenal place to stop.
The Lava Center is a phenomenal place to stop. The exhibits are interactive and so well done, all ages will appreciate learning more about Iceland's volcanos.
We heard that there were tours for hiking out of this area, but the weather was way too extreme for us to check that out.
The setting is fantastic. We even had a view of Seljalandsfoss from our room. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was great. Dinner was tasty (Beyond Burgers all round) and despite not having any vegan desserts on the menu, the owners had arranged for vegan icecream to be delivered specially. The staff were sensitive to the member of our group with a nut/seed allergy. I would highly recommend this hotel. Parking was easy just in front of the hotel. All 6 of our group felt we could have stayed longer.
I really enjoyed my stay. I am a female who travels solo and I stayed at the hotel whilst I drove the south coast of Iceland. The hot tuba are lovely to relax in with incredible views and the sun set was magical. The rooms are cosy and pretty and very clean and tidy. The main lounge and dining area is nicely styled and again cosy. Breakfast was good for a small hotel (nothing fancy, but more than adequate). Staff were friendly and helpful. I felt the hotel was good value for Icelandic prices. Victoria, UK
The outdoor sitting area was amazing, the privacy of the property was nice.
The view was breathtaking. Also a great location to view some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the area. We were able to visit 3 waterfalls on the same road. They were some of our favorites to see in Iceland.
Showering was cold as the shower was outdoors, but not a negative. Well thought out property with all the things we could have wanted.
The location was beautiful only a short 5-10 minute drive to Seljafoss waterfall. The breakfast was excellent and we really did not expect as many choices in such a boutique place. The staff were excellent, really kind and helpful. Hotel room was small in size but it had everything we needed including electric kettle, TV, fridge. There was a coffee machine available in the lobby 24/7 free of charge which was lovely.
We are traveling for 10 days around Iceland and this accommodation is one of the best I’ve ever had. Even though we were four, we were really comfortable there, for two it’s even more spacious. The kitchen is amazing, they provide maximum basic things for your confort like oil, salt etc. Privacy was amazing even though there were so many people in other houses of the accommodation and the views just TOP!!
I would definitely come back. The staff were lovely, the room was adorable with a beautiful view, and breakfast was great. There are limited time windows for accessing hotel staff, so make sure you read all the paperwork. Check-in is self-guided, but clearly explained and not as mysterious as it seems when you first arrive all travel-bedraggled.
Very nice locations for exploring southern Iceland. The cabin is clean and tidy. We met the cleaning crew and they were very helpful. They knew that we would be staying for another night so they emptied our garbage and refilled the coffee. I would recommend this cabin if you are going in Winter time and with kids.
Breakfast was excellent - fresh fruits, cheeses and breads and made to order eggs each morning. We also ate dinner there in the evening. Delicious fresh foods, friendly service. The icelandic horses on the farm were beautiful and well trained. We had a blast on our ride to the black sand beach!
Lodging in Iceland is expensive, but this was a great little room with a well-stocked kitchenette, clean and well-kept, with comfy beds and close to a restaurant and a market. It's an easy drive to some great sites—about halfway between Reyk and the main South Iceland attractions.
Our family of 5 did not want to leave! So very comfortable. The hot tub was amazing. All amenities and supplies were fabulous. Super cute loft and bunk for kids. Relaxing…off the beaten path. Probably one of the most amazing views in Iceland from the living room/kitchen window.
The internet was strong, the kitchen well-equipped, and the rooftop hot tub and sauna were huge pluses. The staff were helpful and answered any questions I had. I had a solo room and could have stayed there my whole trip if there wasn't more of Iceland to see.
Rental is a full house lost in the Icelandic countryside, surrounded by horses. Beautiful view of Vestmannaeyjar from the house. Very quiet and practical with three bedrooms, a bathroom and a big living room and kitchen. I recommend it :)
The view from the hotel was amazing. There is a beautiful mountain behind it.
The towel and sheets were very cool.
The room was little bit small but it was enough for us.
There are two dogs, they were so kind and smart.
Hotel room was super comfortable. The breakfast included a great selection.
Staff members were very helpful and the place looked like a lot of fun. We were just sad that we could only stay the one night!
We loved the location of the hotel, it felt very private and serene. The veranda and bar area were very cozy and inviting. We loved the newly renovated rooms, we get so at home and it was hard to leave
Close to main attractions in the South Iceland, quite and cozy palce, supermarket not far away from the property, nice restaurants was nearby (Valkhalla)
