Amazing traditional hotel (roykan). Loved the japanese style room (bathroom looked recently renovated) overlloking the beautiful Kawaguchiko lake. Staff was friendly and helpful, they have free shuttle to the station (which is 15mins walking otherwise). Breakfast was very rich and tasty in a dining hall with a beautifull view. There was also a bar/game room with pool, fussball and other games for free.

We got the room with Mt Fuji and Lake view - which was amazing. The whole experience with authentic Japanese accommodation and dining was incredible. Yes, it is costly but worth the money. The staff were incredibly friendly and they provided a shuttle to and from the station, they can keep your bags at checkout and even deliver them to the station for our scheduled bus departure. You have access to the spring water baths (onsen) which are really comfortable. The food was laid out in traditional style - they accommodate vegetarians too.

We rented a car and drove from Tokyo to Yamanashi and for us it was perfect. We were able to see all 5 lakes in one day going from one to the other in succession.
The restaurants in the area offer a great variety of sushi, izakaya and bbq. There is also a great Omakase restaurant nearby the hotel called Fresh Water that offers a different experience to the usual tried and tested.
On the day of our departure back to Tokyo we decided to swing by Fuji Q Highland with low expectations - the theme park is legit with a great Naruto Village, high octane rollercoaster rides and from our own experience a great haunted house that lasts the majority of an hour to walk through.
Loved it. Would definitely revist the entire area.

Check the weather forecast before planning your trip to Kawaguchiko, as beside the view of Mt Fuji there's very little to do there, also restaurants are very rare and working hours is almost not existent, everything closes early or not open at all... so be mindful of the meals you should carry with you.

The view of the lake is absolutely stunning, but it's quite disappointed that we didn't catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji. It's always a good idea for travelers to check the weather beforehand.

Amazing experience of traditional Japanese hospitality. The room was spacious and clean. The staff were on top of everything and would do anything to assist. The roof terrace with foot bath has an amazing view of mount Fuji. The kaiseki style dinner was rich in quantity and our server Sara was great and explained everything thoroughly. We booked a private onsen and It was really worth it. There is a bus stop just in front of the hotel to go around. The shuttle bus service was great and very convenient.
The service by the hotel staff were excellent and couldn't expect more than what they provided from the greetings on arrival to our departure after our stay. The room was comfortable, bigger than most of ryokans we stayed in the past. The kaiseki dinner was exceptional. Every single dish was tasty and beautifully presented. Highly recommend booking a private onsen on your arrival (very popular) if you want to experience Japanese onsen! They also provide shuttle service from and to Kawaguchiko station.
It's nearby the train station. The have a free shuttle that takes you from and to the hotel. If you don't have to call them, just go to the information center and they will call them to get you. We stayed at the japanese style room. The futon was comfortable. It had a great view of the lake. The breakfast has a lot of optiona and it is delicious. The offer a special dinner that is amazing. The private onsen was clean. The staff is very kind and they alway have at least one that speak english.
Got the Ryokan (traditional Japanese room)
The staff are extremely professional, polite and considerate. They offer luggage hold until you check into the hotel (3PM), and will also offer to drive you to Kawaguchiko Station when you check out.
The public bath (onsen) was clean and very relaxing, didn't see much people when I went. Sometimes, got the whole onsen to myself (go around 12 am, no one is there)
This hotel is in a great location. This hotel is for travellers who are travelling on a very limited budget. The rooms are typical old Japanese, shared bathrooms, (male & females together) large rooms with futons on the floor, this hotel is in need of a renovation, it is very grubby,. Very limited English spoken. Located on a very busy road .Also great views of Mt Fuji from your bedrooms.
Fantastic view of lake and Fuji-san from huge bedroom window. Individually controlled air conditioning. Free shuttle bus between hotel and station. Tourist bus (red line) stops right in front of the hotel. We really enjoyed the traditional Japanese dinner. We do love fish, seaweed etc. Service at reception, in the restaurant and the shuttle bus was superb.
The property was under construction and we were told we would have no view and ended up on the 7th floor with one night full view of Fuji with a huge room. The space was enormous. Bigger than most US hotels and the staff helped ship us luggage we left that was very important to us.
We ended up having the Japanese meal there which was amazing.
The room is big and it has a stunt view from bedroom. All the electricity was working well and especially it is close to 7-eleven. The staff is very helpful, I left my powerbank plugin on the wall. Ask if the hotel can send that to me to Tokyo and it was arrived just in time before I leave Japan. Very thanksful for the helps.
The breakfast was a spread! It comes with 6 side dishes, 1 miso soup, 1 main dish and rice. The banquet hall oversee the beautiful view of the lake.
Excellent location - easy access to many attractions around Fujikawaguchiko, ~10-15 mins drive away to most attractions. Free car parking is located directly opposite the hotel.
If you’re looking for a place to stay on your trip to Fuji, Plaza Inn Kawaguchiko is the best choice.
Located just in front of the Kawaguchiko Station, arround 150 meters by walk.
It’s an inn type of hotel. But it has everything we need.
The old man at the front desk was really friendly and helpful.
The owner was really nice and friendly. We love the style of the hotel, it is Japan-Western style. The location is far from the train station, but we have no issue because we came by car, and it turned to be really nice and quiet to stay.
The room comes with a good size twin bed and good bathroom.
The staff was very helpful, as one would expect in Japan, but the level of their English was quite exceptional! If you struggle with speaking the local language, consider accommodation in this hotel/ryokan.
At dinner, they were very considerate towards our dietary limitations.
The location was very central and close to Fujikawaguchiko main attractions. The hotel offers breakfast, and evenings meal and has a kiosk inside which is great because at evening time there aren’t many restaurant or shops.
The location is great, there are convenience store and shopping center near by. Few restaurant near by.
Very worth value for money, for the hotel room, services and breakfast provided.
I loved everything, except the bed was extremely hard. However, this seemed to be issue in Japan as a whole, with every hostel/hotel we stayed in, so not this hostels direct fault.
