FAQs about hotels in Bruges

Picture Postcard Perfect

Bruges is a picture perfect medieval city that will charm you with its distinctive, century-old houses, plentiful canals and city walls. The famous 13th-century Belfry offers the opportunity to watch the cobbled market place, the Grote Markt, below while 47 bells call out to the city every 15-minutes. While you’re in the Grote Markt you can take a ride in one of the horse-drawn carriages around the city.

Many interesting artifacts can be found in the churches of Bruges, a Michelangelo statue is housed in the Church of Our Lady and the Basilica of the Holy Blood contains a vial of blood reportedly from Jesus Christ. Other museums include the Groeninge Museum which includes works of art spanning 6 centuries.

Belgium cuisine is famous worldwide and the cafes of Bruges offer an inviting retreat from the cooler climate. Brewery De Halve Maan explains the process behind the beer which washes down the world-class fries, chocolate and mussels found all over the city.

Bruges is easily reached from the Brussel-Zuid train station or the Brussels Airport. From a romantic suite to an apartment for a group of friends, Booking.com will make sure your stay in Bruges is a memorable one.

    If you're from Europe you're probably used to picturesque old towns, but Bruges will charm you even so. It really feels like it's frozen in time (apart of course from all the touristy shops and the crowds). It's best to visit off-season, but ideally with decent weather. The museum pass is definitely worth it, as without visiting the museums there's not much to do if you stay more than a day. The restaurants are very expensive, and depending on if you like Belgian food might not be worth it. What is worth it though are the beers, which you definitely should take a moment to try in one of the several local pubs with cozy atmosphere.

    One of my favorite and most romantic cities in Europe. I love it, this was not my first time and I hope I will be back soon. This small town has lots of great places to eat, Michelin star restaurants, shopping . Town filled with history. Very easy to get around, walkable , don’t need a car. Just lovely, a picturesque view around every corner.

    We loved the Canal Boat trip most informative.

    We loved the Canal Boat trip most informative. The Historium was well worth a visit and very informative it was also very well done I would say a must to do. The Architecture is amazing in the old Town and every little street was gorgeous with the Cookie Cutter Fairyland houses everywhere. Was not dissapointed and people were friendly and when we got lost very helpful. Would love to go back and explore some more and maybe take a trip to Damme from there. We had a great Flemish Stew at a lovely Italian Restaurant near the Apartment. On our last night we went to Delaneys Hotel which was great and the food goregous. Lovely atmosphere and lovely staff. We walked everywhere as that was easy {got lost too which was ok as well}

    There is so much to see, As a traveler from North America...

    There is so much to see, As a traveler from North America being in Europe it is even more overwhelming. Brugge seems to to have well preserved and updated the best of the past. If I could have started again I would have made the bust tour first rather than last. This would have made it easier to get the most out of your visit. With the radial street layout it is difficult maintaining bearings and the bus tour would help with landmarking.

    This is my favorite city in the world!

    This is my favorite city in the world! Beautiful city center with a wide array of cafes, bars, and restaurants. Wonderful art and history museums. Climb the belfry; you'll be glad you did! Walking around town is very easy. There are many pet and family friendly hotels in or near the city center. Plenty of parking garages (always space at the train station if you don't mind walking back into town). Try Bones for great ribs. The Trappiste Bar for a huge beer selection. Delaney's Irish Pub for good pub food. De Haalve Maan brewery has great food and great beer! Schedule a walking tour to learn about the city and get off the beaten path!

    The property communicated with us right away once it was booked and gave lots of helpful information. They even let us know that early check in might be available so we arrived early and were able to check in a couple of hours early which allowed us more time to explore the beautiful city of Bruges since we were only staying one night. Everthing was Very good. The staff, perfect and very friendly. Rooms very comfy, and breakfast excellent. The building is old but very inviting for a City stop over, the lift is also old but it works. A 10 minute walk to the center and plenty of places to eat on the way. Parking is a short walk away in with reserved places for the hotel. All in all a great place to stay and no more expensive than other Bruges hotels. We loved it as did our little dog. The hotel was absolutely beautiful, spotless and in a fantastic location. Our host Veronique was charming and so helpful and knowledgeable about the best places to visit including local restaurants. The breakfast each morning was delicious with plenty of choice and fresh orange juice brought to our table. We found the hotel online by chance but it is certainly a hidden gem and we will recommend to anyone visiting Bruges. Veronique made our stay one we will never forget.

Also, the breakfast was delicious. The staff was just so pleasant. This is a 5 star hotel. How we would love to go back…

    Location is fantastic. Steps from the center of everything. 2 streets away from a super market if you want to get snacks(small fridge in room), bottled drinks, etc (although the hotel provided bottled water every day which was REALLY appreciated in the heatwave!). The mattress was the best one of all the places I stayed in Europe (4 different hotels). great night sleep. staff was very kind, mailing postcards and getting us any information we needed. Excellent location. A couple minutes walk from center of town. Friendly staff that is locally owned and operated by an lovely couple. Great breakfast. Stairs are challenging with luggage, but the majority of hotels in Belgium are like that. Driving into the center of town is challenging, but doable with a GPS. Parking is a 5 minute walk away along the canal in a parking garage. This place is hard to beat given its location and nice accommodations.

    Our host Paul went out of his way every day to ensure we had the best stay in Bruges. A great hotel in a quiet but central location. Would definitely return to this establishment. Highly recommended.
