Holiday Inn Express - Bodmin - Victoria Junction, an IHG Hotel, hotel in Bodmin

Featuring a terrace and a bar, Holiday Inn Express - Bodmin - Victoria Junction, an IHG Hotel is located in Bodmin, 14 miles from Newquay Train Station and 8.1 miles from Eden Project.

The staff at this hotel are so friendly, we were made to feel very welcome. Considering this is a hotel at a services it is very well maintained, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The services next door are useful for food and have a small co-op which was handy. It is very well positioned to go either further into Cornwall or back to Devon

Was visiting a sick relative in the hospital & hotel very convenient for that. Have always been in transit elsewhere so didn't know the town well. So attractive and clean. Very friendly people who readily helped direct or help in other ways. I have relatives who came from Probus and Devonshire so visited both counties from 1946 onwards and think changes by and large sensitive and well carried out. The beauty of the county and rural nature has been largely preserved and if controlled population increase measures are sympathetically controlled, the character of the county ought to be preserved along with its beauty.

A great experience, the renovation work is amazing throughout the hotel! We only stayed there for 1 night but we would have liked to have spend more time. Comfortable beds, and a great spacious bathroom. Great breakfast options. Would be great to have gluten free options in the room service menu.

Bodmin was a really good distance from all the places I wanted to visit and I knew there was road works (till 2024) on the road further south and didn’t want to be stuck on the road whilst on a long drive anyway .

We went to the Eden Project for half a day and enjoyed the biodomes. We spent a day at Lanhydrock House, looking around the house and we walked miles around the estate. We also hired bikes through Saint Piran Cafe (and bike hire shop), the staff were excellent and we loved the 18 mile round trip on the bikes, followed by a drink in the cafe afterwards. We also enjoyed a pizza from Dominos in Bodmin and the best fish and chips from Welcome Stranger in Lanivet, near Bodmin, we would absolutely recommend this place for a fantastic meal!

Waterside was a great, dog friendly, convenient and as described facility. The accommodation was spacious, very well equipped and included a henry hoover, decent kitchenware, airers, fan, welcome pack and even an umbrella. The bed was comfortable, lots of linen was provided and it all felt clean. The area was peaceful but centrally located for sightseeing around Cornwall. There was a really useful information sheet showing details of local beaches and postcodes. we would certainly return and not hesitate to recommend to friends.

Property was very modern and clean. Good range of items at breakfast. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Located near Bodmin just off the A30 dual carriageway gives access to both north and south cornwall coastlines and plenty of places to visit in between. As the hotel is situated alongside a motorway services there is plenty of parking and banks of chargers for drivers with EVs. The motorway services next door offer a costa, McDonalds, Taco Bell, Subway and a co op. And of course a 24 hour filling station.

Shame alot tof the facilities were still closed but the DreadLock escape rooms and Footgolf were really good. WE were told that the bar terrace overlooked the lake but the busehes in form tof the terrace had grown so high you could not see the lake. Arrival reception could have been a little more friendly and helpful and some outside areas aroudn the bar looked a bit scruffy but the lodge was perfect and exceeded expectations.

The property is spotlessly clean, during these times it was very reassuring. The location is very private and so quiet. The property has very good heating/cooling. Everything you need is provided. You feel very comfortable in the property from the outset. Its also very modern and built to a very high standard. As it is just outside of Bodmin transport to the rest of Cornwall/Devon is very easy.

The pods were well maintained, I liked that you could have a fire(fire pits provided), toilets were a very short walk away, radiators provided, tea, coffee, water etc. loads of places to go walking around the property, short walk away from a large quiet lake, with a cafe. It’s cheap, so you get value for your money, beats a hotel. Friendly, helpful staff, but please stop calling people maam.

The hotel was so clean and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. We visited in March and our room was always warm and cosy, massive rooms with comfy beds and clean soft linen. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and cooked to perfection. High quality produce. It was only a 10 minute drive from Bodmin town centre so it was really easy to find. Quiet and peaceful location.

Beautiful luxurious hotel, went that extra mile to make our stay special with the upgraded items such as balloons and chocolates, on arrival as we were celebrating a significant birthday. The bathroom in our room was gorgeous with deep bath tub & robes. Just a stunning hotel with the added historical value and uniqueness would highly recommend a stay at bodmin jail Hotel.

The friendliness and helpfulness of one of the members of staff in particular. We liked the personal attention. The value for money - a hotel with some character, comfortable, with a roomy bedroom; it was a pleasant surprise as I think it is unusual nowadays.
