We had a fabulous night at this charming hotel run by lorella - the room was spotless with a very comfortable bed and great bathroom. We arrived before our check in time but they made our room ready and gave us a welcome coffee on arrival. We had a delicious dinner that evening. The owner / manager was extremely helpful and pleasant. He was very busy too, but juggled things well. The town is a jewel and we had a great time there at an uncrowded time of year. The location could not be better. The rooms are relatively simple and modest, but clean and well lit. We would stay there again. The town is an absolute jewel and it was super to be there in March when there were very few other tourists besides ourselves. Weather was brisk so take sweaters and a jacket, plus umbrella!

Everything! The location is great and convenient. The property is lovely and well maintained. Our room was very comfortable and quiet. The daily breakfast buffet was absolutely outstanding and delicious! Lucca was very helpful with information, maps, and recommendations! We highly recommend Villa Rioddi !

A beautiful old villa below the walls of the city, recently renovated into a nice small hotel. Grand old rooms with high ceilings, wrought iron fixtures, indoor or outdoor breakfast. (All vegan, including fine pastries.) A short steep walk up stairs and paths to the “Porta all’Arco” gate to the city. Trees and singing birds all around the villa and all along the path up to the city wall gate. And Volterra is wonderful - fascinating Etruscan history, and not as crowded with tourists as Florence or San Gimigniano. And you can easily see all of Volterra on foot. We wished we had booked more time here.
