I liked walking around the hotel. There were stores and restaurants nearby. Easy in and out from the hotel for our exploratory road trips in the nearby areas. Our second best breakfast on our trip. The hotel was easily seen from anywhere in the area.

The night I was supposed to arrive, rain in Tokyo flooded some parts and trains were heavily delayed. I was planning on getting there 9~10 pm but ended arriving there closer to 1 am. The main hotel person, lovely old man, had been waiting for my arrival and greeted me outside the hotel. Check in was painless and swift. This hotel is a cozy, timeless gem. Very nice!

There was parking on site, and the room was quiet even though it was very urban and intended for workers. The room was clean. The bathroom was clean and functional. The refrigerator was helpful. We booked here because we had difficulty finding other better accommodation in our budget, in Matsumoto.

We had a wonderful stay at BYAKU in Narai. This is truly an exceptional experience. The accommodations, food, and ambiance will definitely be one of the highlights of our trip. The staff were also extremely helpful.
