Ambassadors Bloomsbury Very good 8 Not my first time there (far from it...) and I really see the Ambassadors as one of the best deals in London: excellent value for money, very well-located, clean and comfortable, nice staff and a good restaurant... no hesitation to recommend it, as usual!
The Euro Hotel Very good 8.2 I think what I loved most about this place was that amazing sense of "home from home" - you are given a key to your room and a key to the front door so you can come and go to your heart's content without all that hassle of handing in/asking for keys. Polite and efficient staff are available whenever you want (in an office just off the breakfast room) but when you walk into the lovely hallway, there is no reception area - you just go up the stairs to your room as though you were in your own home. I was a bit dubious at first about sharing bathroom facilities but on each floor there is an area containing two toilets and two showers (absolutely spotless) and there is a hand basin in each room, so it worked out just fine. My room (single) was quite small but it had everything I needed including tea-making facilities,TV, a small desk and chair and even a hair dryer. The breakfast room is bright and cheerful and the breakfast itself (full English breakfast) was plentiful with a good choice of juices and cereals. It's a stone's throw away from Russel Square underground (Piccadilly Line but you can change at Green Park for other lines),and it's roughly equal distance ( about 10 mins on foot) from both Euston and King's cross main railway stations. There are plenty of eating places in the direct vicinity (to satisfy everyone's budget) and there is a variety of "every day" shops too, including a hairdresser's in the nearby shopping arcade. It is situated in such a way that you are in a busy area of London ( Euston road, only 5 mins walk, is a major thoroughfare) yet you have the sensation of being a long way from the hustle and bustle of the city because the hotel is on a crescent, off the beaten track, overlooking a tennis court in Cartwright gardens ( which,if I'm honest, could do with a bit of attention from the borough council, but nevertheless the greenery gives you that country feeling).
George Hotel Good 7.6 Less than 5 minutes from Euston station, turn a corner and it opens out into a large crescent with beautiful Victorian houses, trees and even a tennis court ! Wasn't expecting that in the middle of London ! Friendly staff, clean room and very comfy bed. Would defiantly stay here again.
Crestfield Hotel Good 7.5 Very friendly and helpful staff, very clean and quiet room, very comfortable beds, excellent location, excellent continental breakfast, very good value for the money I have paid. I hope that life will give me the opportunity to come back here :-) .
The California Good 7.8 Location, price and size of the rooms
Alhambra Hotel Very good 8 central London Cleanliness english breakfast very good people at the reception helpful and very friendly
Generator Hostel London Good 7.9 Nice hostel, security which was great and felt safe!
Carlton Hotel Pleasant 6.5 1.Excellent location for me as I brought heavy load and could not walk far.It is located at the opposite to station, very close to Chop Chop ,INDIAN shops and Mc Donald. 2. Impressed by well-built building, a good ensuite room with well- built strong tiles, good wooden floor and stairs (compared to other B&B near by where mainly wooden stairs stairs and shabby toilet with very little space shower ) 3. It has a small lift to go upstairs as well. 4. Cook breakfast. 5. Extra pillow for my painful neck, thanks 6. A table and chair, a reasonable size ward robe 7. A small flat TV
Studios2Let Good 7.9 Very professional and friendly staff work there. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood. But is just a few blocks from King Cross St. Pancras Station. direct trains from/to Gatwick and Heathrow are available. Restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacy, are plenty on the area. Rooms are great (Large Studio) Everything you need to make a meal was available at the room. Wi-Fi was good all the time but not the fastest. I will stay in this hotel again or this area. Totally recommended.
Clink78 Good 7.3 The spaces, the ease of use and the safe feeling
