The center is also a fast-growing cultural hub, packed with art galleries and museums. The Swiss history museum is called Landesmuseum and the Kunsthaus houses some of the most important pieces of art owned by Switzerland. The shops, restaurants were great especially where we stayed in the old district. Light rail and trains to Zurich make it very easy to get around even for people who enjoy walking. We visited the National Museum and enjoyed it. It was not overwhelming or too large to explore. We did not have time to check out anything else in the guidebook and I am sure there is more to see. One museum we wanted to visit had closed.

Great walks around town, plenty of restaurants in Neiderdorf district near where we were staying, trams to everywhere just watch out for them as they do not give way, art galleries were wonderful. You have to remember it is another city so more overwhelming than the countryside villages.

Zurich is a small city and easy to get around by tram and bus. The hotel was in walking distance of the Zurich lake. Nice cafés along the lake but expensive. Some cafés charge £6.00 for a coffee. The restaurants in the supermarkets are the cheapest. Food not very imaginative, up market restaurants very expensive. The service isn’t very good waiters are not trained properly. Allowing dogs in cafés and restaurants should not be allowed.

Lovely place but ridiculously expensive meaning poor value.
Lovely place but ridiculously expensive meaning poor value. Our hotel was terrible which really tarnished our view of Zurich in general. We should have stayed in France and just come in on a day trip.

Zurich is a beautiful lake city and many great locales are within reach. You can visit Jungfraujoch, Mt. Titlis, Mt. Pilatus, Lucerne, Heidiland. One can also visit the Rhine Falls and neighboring countries such as Germany and Liechtenstein. There are many convenient day trips from Zurich by coach. You get good food everywhere. Uber rides offer value for money. Train station is in the heart of town.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was a decent size, plenty of storage space and beds were comfortable. Room had a safe which was very useful. Buffet breakfast was amazing. Best scrambled eggs ever! Location was brilliant. Close to main Zurich railway station, coach park, local trams and only 10 minutes walk to the old town. Also close to one or two restaurants and supermarkets. It was very hot during our stay but, because the hotel is on a quiet street, there were no issues leaving the window open at night.
The location of the hotel was great for travelers using the efficient Swiss train system and sightseeing in Zurich. Close to train stations, situated in the historic downtown with all its charm, close to the river and the Swiss history museum. The woman staffing reception was welcoming and helpful with answers to all our questions about restaurants, transit advice, and helping us get flight boarding passes. Her English was perfect, though she was able to switch languages for other guests as well.
We have stayed at Hotel Bristol a few times when in Zurich. It’s clean and comfortable with typical “tight” European rooms, but a very good value for a downtown hotel. The location is great - easy walking distance from the Hauptbanhof, even with luggage. The included buffet breakfast is very nice and the hotel is within walking distance to all the downtown attractions and restaurants, particularly those on the university side of the Limmat. All the staff were helpful, friendly, and welcoming.
The best hotel among the other hotels we stay in this 3 weeks europe trip. Room was super clean, two thumbs up for the cleaning staff, thanks Tilana ! They have many facilities, includes slippers. They even have an umbrella to borrow. Breakfast was great, a lot of fresh food, fruit, vegetables. Very good location, about 3-4 tram station from Zurich HB. And walking distance also to Central or old town. Definitely will choose Sorell again in the future. Thank you Sorell !
Marvellous location with views over Lake Zurich.
Tricky underground parking but plentiful spaces.
Breakfast was one of the best we had on our road trip.
We had one of the top floor rooms with superb views of the laje.
Hotel staff are a credit to the business.
Tram ZOO stop is only 5 minutes away. Downtown Zurich is less than 20 mins away.
Had drinks outside while watching fireworks and lightning over the Alps.
Would gladly stay here again. It was a perfect treat!
Very friendly staff, great location, had a facility to store luggage before our evening flight and also a waiting lounge to relax after we checked out and waited to leave for the airport. Rooms/hotel is very basic/old, but was perfect for a 1 night Zurich stay en route to airport. Well priced. In the old town and close to restaurants, bars, shops etc. and quick walk to main Zurich train station (HB).
We where transferred to the Mercure stoller hotel so the review is for that hotel, 10 minutes walk from the Zurich hardbrucke train station, 8 minutes tram ride from city center(you can ride one stop before city center to get reduced fare) .
Room was good enough with private toilet and refrigerator
It's kind of an apartment hotel at a very good location in Seefeld very close to the lake. Fully furnished with all facilities in kitchen and bathrooms. Check in was guided via a website super easy. Downtown Zurich is in walking distance or easily reachable by Tram.
The hotel is really interesting in terms of location, as it is close to a line that goes to the airport and another that goes to the city center, so for those using the Zurich Card it is a good option. The attendants were friendly, communicative and very pleasant.
Breakfast was excellent, great variety of options.
The staff couldn’t have been more helpful.
The location of the hotel with the nearby railway station with direct access to the airport was ideal.
The lake was on our doorstep as was the start of the old town.
Used it as a last minute airport hotel as we missed our connecting flights & had to stay overnight. Only 10 mins by train from Zurich airport in a suburban location. Room size was good. Didn't stay for b/f as had to go back to the airport early morning.
The staff made this visit fantastic. Everyone is anxious to help and be of amazing service. Zurich is an expensive city but this hotel gave me the best value of my trip. Wonderful property, comfortable room and terrific, walkable location.
Comfortable room near train station Oerlikon, only a 5-min train ride away from Zürich airport. Good connections to everywhere in Zürich via train, tram, bus. Very friendly staff. Practically organized and clean room with a comfy bed.
Location of Hotel Landhus in Zurich is very good .Only 10 min distance by bus from Zurich Airport. Directly connected with city and airport. Breakfast is good. Wi-Fi connection is good. Hotel personnel lady is very helpful.
This is the best hotel if you are on a Budget. Since Zurich is one of the most expensive cities in the world, it is hard to find a good hotel at an affordable rate that is so close to public transportation.
The location was perfect! Right in the Old Town of Zurich, Switzerland and it was in the middle of the city center. An area with great food and really close to shopping centers on the same strip.
location not so far from anything in Zurich and purpose of relaxing hotel .. good for everything
and the best thing about this hotel are staff from luggage boy to reception and concierge
Prices are low for a hotel in Zurich. Located right next to the end of tram line 14 for easy access to Zurich city centre. Relatively close to the airport as well.
