We liked the waterfall repelling, spent half a day at the rope swing, major highlight of the trip, didn't spend a lot of time in town, loved the Fortuna waterfall, didn't prefer the free hot springs. Fortuna was lots of fun. We went to hike at Mistico Arenal hanging bridges and visited the Don Olivo chocolate farm. They were both great outings! We also enjoyed local food and the pool at our hotel, Hotel Arenal Country InnWalker - 10Scored 10

The town of Fortuna is small, but the resorts are abundant. There are so many wonderful activities right at your doorstep. Zip lines, repelling, hanging bridges, waterfalls, hot springs to name a few!The view of the Arenal Bolcano were spectacular!such a cool place!

Enjoyed the Fortuna waterfall hike BUT beware of the steps…great hike but 500 steps DOWN, then 500 steps BACK UP!😉 beautiful falls and swimming area! Loved our zipline and rappel tour!! (Go Adventures!) And the hot springs across the street afterwards…ALL in the rain!🙃 Loved our hotel Arenal Rabfer! Walkability! Worst: DRIVING, roads, local drivers and scooters! The staff was friendly and helpful. The property was close to the local tours and the busses picked us up for trips to the Arenal volcano and to North Fields Coffee. The view of the volcano from the main lodge area was a treat, and the food was delicious. We would go back again!

There are several pools, a pool slide, and even a zip line ride on premises. Two of the pools are geothermal but only warm not hot. One of them is the swim-up pool bar that serves drinks and food. The property is in a great location to stage your tours, and only a 2000 crc ($3 usd!) ride to downtown La Fortuna. The property feels secure as there is a gate that is locked at 6pm - only guests have the code. As two females this was important to us.
