We liked the waterfall repelling, spent half a day at the rope swing, major highlight of the trip, didn't spend a lot of time in town, loved the Fortuna waterfall, didn't prefer the free hot springs. Fortuna was lots of fun. We went to hike at Mistico Arenal hanging bridges and visited the Don Olivo chocolate farm. They were both great outings! We also enjoyed local food and the pool at our hotel, Hotel Arenal Country InnWalker - 10Scored 10

The town of Fortuna is small, but the resorts are abundant. There are so many wonderful activities right at your doorstep. Zip lines, repelling, hanging bridges, waterfalls, hot springs to name a few!The view of the Arenal Bolcano were spectacular!such a cool place!

Enjoyed the Fortuna waterfall hike BUT beware of the steps…great hike but 500 steps DOWN, then 500 steps BACK UP!😉 beautiful falls and swimming area! Loved our zipline and rappel tour!! (Go Adventures!) And the hot springs across the street afterwards…ALL in the rain!🙃 Loved our hotel Arenal Rabfer! Walkability! Worst: DRIVING, roads, local drivers and scooters! The staff was friendly and helpful. The property was close to the local tours and the busses picked us up for trips to the Arenal volcano and to North Fields Coffee. The view of the volcano from the main lodge area was a treat, and the food was delicious. We would go back again!

Very easy to book tours with hotel as well. The staff was wonderful! Very knowledgeable with history and animals. It is walking distance to the center town area (about a 15 minute walk) - we walked during the day and night and got around easily. The staff were super kind and thoughtful - they would go out of their way to make our days as great as possible! There is a great trail on the hotel property as well that leads to a peaceful river. The property itself is very well maintained and features beautiful flowers!

Could see the volcano from the hotel if it was covered with clouds. The restaurant next door for breakfast was lovely and catered really well for vegetarians and you get 10% off for other meals- if you remember to show your key.

The breakfast was okay (3 options to choose from) and location was great. It was about a 7 minute walk into the main area of La Fortuna. Air conditioning worked well. The hotel is next to the sloth sanctuary, so helps it feel like you’re in the rainforest.
