We liked the waterfall repelling, spent half a day at the rope swing, major highlight of the trip, didn't spend a lot of time in town, loved the Fortuna waterfall, didn't prefer the free hot springs. Fortuna was lots of fun. We went to hike at Mistico Arenal hanging bridges and visited the Don Olivo chocolate farm. They were both great outings! We also enjoyed local food and the pool at our hotel, Hotel Arenal Country InnWalker - 10Scored 10

The town of Fortuna is small, but the resorts are abundant. There are so many wonderful activities right at your doorstep. Zip lines, repelling, hanging bridges, waterfalls, hot springs to name a few!The view of the Arenal Bolcano were spectacular!such a cool place!

Enjoyed the Fortuna waterfall hike BUT beware of the steps…great hike but 500 steps DOWN, then 500 steps BACK UP!😉 beautiful falls and swimming area! Loved our zipline and rappel tour!! (Go Adventures!) And the hot springs across the street afterwards…ALL in the rain!🙃 Loved our hotel Arenal Rabfer! Walkability! Worst: DRIVING, roads, local drivers and scooters! I bought my own down the street for morning tea 😅 The staff are lovely and helpful and the breakfast at the cafe next door is delicious! The circle cabins in the back looked cool, but all the backpackers seemed to have their stuff spread out everywhere, so I was happy to stay in the hotel part.
