Barcelona is a wonderful city especially if you go a bit outside the "beaten path" and try to experience it from a local's viewpoint. There are of course myriads of touristy things to do, but the city has so much more to offer. Transportation is amazing, may it be metro or buses or even cycling around and it's definitely not as hot as Madrid ( middle of summer ) Get a monthly card for €20 and not a Hola Barcelona card - it's all you'll need to move around. Lots to see and do.
Lots to see and do. The architecture is stunning, a great variety of shops but be prepared to walk a lot. Eating in the square was enjoyable, apparently food in La Ramblas is not good. Lots of coffee shops)bakeries. Sagrada Familia, Barcelona cathedral and Park Guell are must sees and a mountain trio to Montserrat if you have the time.
