The hotel was in a nice neighborhood. The staff were kind and responsive giving tips on safety and cabs ( thanks Robert). The bar staff were kind in giving us ice for our drinks. Our room was large for a big city (Superior Double) and very quiet. We loved having ice water in the lobby as it was very hot while we were in Barcelona. I liked the lobby -- reminiscent of a former age. We fell in love with the architecture of Barcelona.

Spanish people are very friendly and helpful towards foreigners. Even inside the metro and bus, travelling was very safe. When compared to other European countries, Spain is very safe, clean, and has free washrooms (no need to pay money) throughout Barcelona city. Even the beaches were very safe, clean with white sand and free continuous cleaning, free washrooms (no need to pay money)

We came for Gaudi, as this was our first trip to Barcelona. And we managed a lot but not everything. We were surprised how large it is! And there is so much to see. Different quarters differ a lot. It's good to know where you have to be extra safe. Also next time we will try and go out more at night, your city is buzzing with nightlife!

I have visited Barcelona several times in the past and this was the worse of all stays. City is totally dirty and full of impolite people every where. At Barcelona Santz station, impossible to just hope on a taxi, you need to make a reservation in advance, crazy! Walked down the ramblas around 8pm and it is now very unsafe, full of prostitutes and drug dealers offering all kinds of drugs. I know tourist are unwelcome and I will follow that advise. Do NOT come to this city!!!

Barcelona is one of the great destinations of the world! So much culture - Gaudi architecture, world class museums, excellent food. We didn’t visit the beaches, but they are supposed to be wonderful as well. The tourist bus that has two routes around the city is terrific!

Barcelona is a beautiful city, many places are like a strawberry cream cake. Interesting architecture combined with old-town narrow streets and callejuelas. A church here, another there makes it very interesting.

Very hard to sum up Barcelona in a few words.

Very hard to sum up Barcelona in a few words. We keep coming back! It's certainly an assault on the senses and emotions....mostly in a good way! We enjoyed staying near the sea, as the city centre might be a bit overwhelming for some. However we loved exploring the Barrio Gothik right in the centre and playing pool at a great joint called Peccera de Pool. Some fantastic eating and drinking experiences all around! La Rambla is fun, Segrada Familia extraordinary and beautiful. A very quirky, imaginative city. Riding a cable car over Montjuic was exhilarating, and the Metro is easy to use. We also enjoyed visiting Tibidabo way above the city with its pretty double decker basilica, funfair and lovely cafe/bar. Another easy daytrip from Barcelona is Montserrat- stunning rock formations and hiking trails with monastery nestled in between. You need to have your wits about you, driving round Barcelona. Not enough signposts we found, especially then our phones failed to pick up any wifi when driving around. We had to log into each venue's wifi- this seems to be a recent Spanish problem. It was very difficult navigating to our second hotel due to all the one-way systems and lack of signs. We saw evidence of theatres, flamenco shows, concerts, all sorts of entertainment, for a future visit. Also Park Guell, with Gaudi's crazy designs, and his Casa Bata are worth a visit for surreal experiences. Barcelona is a creative "people vibe" place. We'll be back!

A great stay in Barcelona. The hotel staff was friendly and courteous, it made our stay easier on the day the electricity was turned off all over Spain. Especially helpful and kind was Mr. Ludwik The hotel is clean, well maintained and comfortable. The rooftop pool looks great, although due to an intense vs. short trip we did not have time to use it. The neighborhood is safe both day and night, close to the beach, which is not as populated as Barceloneta.

Beside location, I really liked the room, with spacious terrace and hot tube, and also direct access to hotel garden and pool. This hotel has 4 stars, but room we got is surely 5 star worth.
