This was the most recent of several trips to Paris over the years. Paris is everything you want from a capital city, it offers magnificent affordable restaurants, great sightseeing, easy to use public transport and great entertainment and of course shopping.
However, beware some restaurants are already 'cashing in' on the forthcoming Olympic Games pushing for large tips 20%+ whilst offering very mediocre service.

I know Paris since 50 years ago. I studied there and lived.
I know Paris since 50 years ago. I studied there and lived. Many things remain same and other different. Now with Olympic Games there is some kind of mess. Some beautiful places such as Trocadero towards Eiffel tower and Place de la Concord are spoiled of provisory constructions probably for some kind of Olympic events.

Paris should be visited several times, every time with a clear itinerary. It has so much to offer that a "Paris overdose" could be overwhelming. Whenever possible, get a guided tour. The city is big and when looking on the map, keep in mind that walking from A to B might actually be a long distance. The hop on-hop off bus would be a great thing to do. A river cruise is always nice.

I enjoyed the Musee L'Orangerie which is near the Louvre in the gardens of Tuileries where there are also cafes where you can eat outside. The metro was a bit of a challenge working out which type of travel tickets to buy. In the end we chose the T+ tickets where you can buy 9 at a time (or any number up to 9). There were some ticket barriers which didn't like the tickets but on the whole it worked. Food wasn't as expensive as I'd anticipated, and especially good value on the Eurostar. The Louvre was good but I'd say plan what you want to see before you go because it is absolutely huge and hard to navigate round. We tried the audioguide but don't recommend it, it's too complicated. I enjoyed the Jardin Plantes cos there was some plant history and unusual crop plants being grown there.

We stayed in the Latin quarter which was delightful.
We stayed in the Latin quarter which was delightful. The gardens of Luxembourg were close by and we had a few walks in there and a delightful half hour sailing the boats. The Louvre was great but very crowded in the Italian and French galleries. Its well worth heading straight for level 2 which is always less crowded. The area round Montmartre is fabulous and our grandson loved the land train. The area we were in had some very superb restaurants but the best must be the Polidor. It is very old and the food was excellent. Paris has a great metro system but its also a great city to walk.

The Olympic construction is affecting traffic right now.
The Olympic construction is affecting traffic right now. Take the underground or a bus as it’s easier, faster and much less expensive than a taxi. Visit in the fall or spring if you can.
Paris is a magical city. This was my fourth trip and the people were very kind to me. Be sure to greet people first ie “Bonjour” and look them in the eyes before asking if they speak English. It’s considered rude not to greet them first. I found Google Translate very helpful when communicating with a Taxi driver. I wrote to him to please take the fastest route because I had a guided tour. I’m going to start learning French! Hope this helps!
The hotel is a good price/option when you are booking late and prices in Paris are off the charts. But it is really a budget option so you need to be flexible with some details. The location is really good compared with other budget options that are in the outskirts of the city, also lots of Metro stations really close by. The reception guy that we had to deal with was very nice and accommodating. The room cleaning ladies were really nice and overall the building is new so in much better shape that many other old Paris cheap hotels.
I booked it because it was cheaper than other hotels. According to its price, it was very good. A cleaning lady came every day. The staff was very nice and cooperative. The room was small but cozy and nice. We had our own toilet, even if it was a small one. But that is understandable because of the low price. The hotel is surrounded by many options to eat, there is a Chinese restaurant right next to the hotel. And a very good bakery. All in all, it was a very good deal. I would stay here again, if I go to Paris.
Very cheap Hotel. You get what you pay for. The staff were nice. The room was alright. The bed was good, the bedding was old but clean. We had a sink and wardrobe in the room. There was a view of Paris. Windows were big enough. Lights were bright enough for the whole room. It wasn't too noisy. We stayed on the fourth floor. Like I said, everything is justifiable. For tourists, this may be too shocking. For people used to living in Paris, it is what it is.
We loved the location of Hotel Relais Bosquet! It was a nice neighborhood in the 7th arrondissment. The staff was friendly and the room was well appointed even if a bit small. The shower was the best feature! Great water pressure! It was also the only place we stayed while in France that had a iron and ironing board which was much appreciated. We also loved the added bonus of electric black out shades! Bed was very comfortable, as well!!
The hotel itself is beautifully appointed. From the moment I arrived, the warmth and professionalism of the front desk team, including Francesca, Aurélie, Philippe, Régis, and Ryan, made me feel right at home.
My room was comfortable, well-maintained, and provided a peaceful retreat after a day of exploring the city. The location in the 8th arrondissement is perfect for sightseeing, with easy access to many of Paris’s iconic attractions.
A beautiful hotel with amazing helpful staff who complimented our brilliant visit to Paris specifically mentioning Kevin and Aminda who were superb and couldn’t have given a better service for our first time in France as UK visitors.
Based in the middle of the city centre, easy for transport, has safe underground parking and very very close to the Eiffel Tower along with various restaurants.
Would 100% recommend the hotel to everyone!
This is a very good 3 star hotel. Good bed, room not as small as in Paris usually, very nice breakfast with tomato, cucumber and other fresh things, good orange jiuice and caffe, and croissants, of course. Very nice people iin reception, speaking good English without accent what has been problem in France sometimes. Breakfast room is big but it was quite full of people. You can take tea, coffee and water all day.
The hotel is quite close to Gare Du Nord, about a 12 minute walk. It also has two metro stations on the same road.
It is also really close to Sacre Coeur. I walked from the hotel to all the major sithgt in Paris, so
The hotel was very cheap for Paris, and the reception staff were really nice. I forgot my adaptor and they lent me a plug each night to charge my phone.
Nice parisian and well isolated room in a cosy parisian hotel, well equiped with a lift in bonus.
Very cheap & tipic "petit dej parisien" with tasty croissants!
You will maybe have the chance to have Guiven at the réception, very professional. Ask him to listen his own music and enjoy your breakfast.
The night receptionist was also very kind.
Phenomenal staff, willing to assist in every way we asked them to, always with a smile. Fantastic breakfast, incredible scrambled eggs (rare in France), fresh baked madeleines and crepes, really impressed. Location right next to line 14 metro that runs right through Paris. Enormous lobby with food and cocktails served into the evening.
I assume this is the best value for the money in Paris. It is a small room with everything you need if you are ok with the basics—great location, restful and quiet.
We walked everywhere from here.
We got there using the metro which was cheaper than the taxi.
From the hotel to ORLY Airport was a short 18minutes ride for 27 Euros
I liked the location to the Paris Marathon and metro, staff was very friendly, view from my room, but that's about it. Staff offered the spa for a shower after my marathon, since I was checking out the same day. That was very nice and much appreciated before heading out to my next stop in France.
The Hotel was as described - The room was clean and spacious, Abdel on reception looked after us very well and was very helpful, situated within walking distance of Place De Clichy and Paris Gare du Nord it was an excellent location to explore the city and attend rugby at Stade de France
Its a value for money. One of the cheapest rooms we found. It wasn't huge. Very basic but that is what Paris is all about. It was comfortable. The shower was good. The people in reception were nice and cordial. Lots of bakeries around the hotel. Easy to reach with public transport
The location is very nice. In my opinion, this is the best arrondissement in Paris. Lively neighbourhood, lots of restaurants, a metro away from most locations. The room is very clean, the staff is very helpful. Internet is good also, which is a big thing in France
Who knows the usual cheaper paris hotels does not expect much- but this one actually brought what it promised in every respect. Nice, helpful staff, clean basic (but every appliance in good working condition, even the window opening, in the) room, with breakfast.
Excellent hotel, very nice staff, perfect localization for a sightseeing trip, 24/7 reception so you can walk around the city as much as you want, near hotel located catacombs of Paris, breakfast that is served in hotel is cheaper than food in the streets)
It is the only cheap and comfortable hotel in Paris.
The cheapest I think. Good for students who wants a private room.
Rooms are clean.
There is a big green area next to hotel.
Friendly workers.
Nice atmosphere in the lobby.
walking distance to almost all important tourist attractions; nice staff, good breakfast in a very nice set up, a bit small but nice; all staff great! rooms a bit small but typical for France and this type of Hotel in Paris
A nice hotel at a fair price in a great location, right next to the Montparnasse train station and the M13 line. Great for Paris as well as travel around France.
