Steventon House Hotel, hotel in Abingdon

The refurbished Steventon House offers fine comfort, a striking wine bar and an exquisite brasserie restaurant amid the Oxfordshire countryside.

Excellent large room overlooking the trees out front. Welcoming staff who helped carry out bags up the stairs, noticing my injured hand. Pleasant lady in the spacious breakfast room, who was efficient and helpful. Handy position just off the busy A34, great for a stopover.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dinckley Court. It’s a beautiful property located as it is alongside the River Thames and the perfect spot for visiting Oxford and other nearby parts of Oxfordshire. There are many great options for eating nearby. We received a very warm welcome from Annette and our room was very comfortable and well equipped. We would definitely stay at Dinckley Court again!

Very cozy and lovely town, full of fields and gardens to walk, explore and love. Long path through the River Thames and some options to hire kayaks and stand up paddle. Lots of traditional pubs in the town center and very good cafes & restaurants with all kinds of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Very friendly place for dogs including hotels and restaurants. I can't wait to come back.

We'd just missed the farmers market on Friday which was a pity. Science convention in the square on Saturday. A real hive of activity. Lots of lovely historical buildings and the Abbey gardens were lovely even on a wet march day.

We live in Leeds so the trip to Abingdon is one of our favourites .A small market town with lots of places to eat and lovely Oxfordshire countryside and wildlife. Nearby Bletchley Park is definitely worth a visit. There are lots of places to walk in Abingdon and lots of history to discover. Oxford is only a bus ride away and they are very regular .Would never drive there.

Perfect location for visiting Abingdon and Oxford. Lovely, comfortable hotel in stunning surroundings by the river. We had a friendly welcome and were allowed to check in early even though we didn't ask for that. We had a quiet double room and slept well. Breakfast was superb, fresh quality ingredients cooked perfectly and regularly restocked. There was a wedding on while we were there but it didn't negatively affect us at all. We were only there for one night but wished we were there for longer. We will definitely re-visit.

I enjoy staying at this property. I have been staying at this hotel every 3 months for the past 3 years. I just hope other guests enjoy this hotel as much as I do. The staff is friendly and helpful, the hotel is located in a park so it's like being on holiday, you can take a very nice walk and yet it's only a 2 minute walk from the city centre. There is a big supermarket (waitrose) near the hotel. The hotel itself looks very nice (like an estate from past centuries) and it's appearance suits the landscape

Our room was very large with comfortable sofa and bed. Friendly greeting at bar on arrival. Overall food was good and value for money. Staff generally good over weekend but noticeably better at breakfast on Monday morning. Whole atmosphere of hotel changed on Monday morning when regular staff came on duty, most evident when waiter Andrew and chef, James were on duty - 'can-do' atmosphere and food nicely cooked. Conveniently positioned between Witney and Abingdon.

The property is in a great location in the Cotswolds and easy to get to Abingdon and Oxford. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. No issues checking in and happy to help with anything. Dogs welcome and there are good walks close by. Water, some chocolate, biscuits and tea and coffee available in the room. There were also some travel shampoo and shower gels. These were all nice touches.

Good location for central Abingdon. Polite staff but room 1 above pub with music and noise until after midnight, so woken up when kicking out time. No tea and coffee facilities in room, but there was juice and water in fridge on the landing. Room very recently upgraded so it was comfortable and modern in an old creaky floorboards building. Felt it was expensive with no cooked breakfast.

We liked the space, the big kitchen, the 2 bathrooms, the beds, the parking in front of the door. The location in the centre of Abingdon was great. We toke the bus to Oxford for £ 4 retour, the busstop was nearby and we visited some Lovely villages in the cotswolds. But we also enjoyed Abingdon.
