Torquay is a lovely English seaside town, has lots of links to Agatha Christie and some great local restaurants and bars. Lots of things to do only down side is at the moment the town is under going many road works in and out so getting about can be a bit slow by car/taxi. its also very hilly so walking can be difficult if in anyway unabled.

Been to Torquay regularly down the years, but we missed last year due to other commitments. Couldn't believe the change. What has happened to the town? It is a dishevelled, shabby place. Now full of beggars, roadworks, and boarded up shops. Thoroughly depressing and I'm so sad to say that I will not be returning. It is a ghost of what it once was, the jewel in Torbay. Couldn't wait to leave..

Pleasant seaside situation, somewhat run down town centre, plenty of restaurants, very hilly, parking is a nightmare and at the moment there is reconstruction going on in the middle of town. It has a charm of a sort and some nice walks if fit. There is a reasonably good bus service to take you to other local towns - Dawlish, Teignmouth, etc - and there are quite a few beaches although as we visited in April and had a planned reason to stay we didn't visit any. Visitors need to choose their hotel carefully - we saw some examples of what might politely be called faded buildings.

Torquay is beautiful lots of hilly roads, and greenery country side
Selection of museums to check out at a small cost. There is a lot to see if you have time. The Agatha Christie Mile. Torquay happens to be the birth place of this Legend . Unfortunately our stay was short as this would be definitely on our agenda to do.
I needed a last minute hotel room for a night out in Torquay. This hotel was over £100 per night cheaper than the next cheapest option. It is definitely "no frills", but was clean and the bed was very comfy, and it didn't matter that I came back to the room in the wee early hours. It may not be the most aesthetically pleasing hotel but it certainly did the job and I'm grateful to have found somewhere so reasonable.
Absolutely enjoyed our stay here. Room was brilliant well equipped and very comfortable and my partner really enjoyed the bath.
Owners were very friendly and very knowledgeable and helpful about the local area on where to eat and go.
If we stay in Torquay again we will definitely look if this place is available and good location, great value for money and the breakfast was excellent 10/10
Great hotel with fabulous service in every area. Lovely breakfasts, don’t miss them and book room only! Only a 10-15 min walk from Torquay harbour and a short walk down to Meadfoot beach. Lovely views of the bay from the hotel and terrace. Lovely terrace area to enjoy a drink. Even the cheapest rooms have everything you need. Certainty will return
I liked the proximity to the centre of Torquay and the views.
The breakfast and staff was good and very efficient.
The room was clean and all was as stated on the description. The hotel needs an upgrade and painting all over!
The reception staff were efficient and the lobby area was as expected for a four star property.
Beautiful Boutique hotel with a unique design. The hosts were very friendly and helpful they showed us the best places to visit in Torquay. The location of the hotel was very close to the English Riviera. Many options for breakfast including vegetarian. It was very pleasant to stay there.
Amy was very friendly and explained everything about her Hotel. The room and public areas had obviously been recently redecorated to a very high standard. The Breakfast Room and the menu could be faulted. Will come back to The Rosewood if I need to be in Torquay again.
The best thing about this hotel is the Leisure centre. Great swimming pools/ jacuzzi/spa etc. The main hotel is like a rabbit warren of corridors with very squeaky floors. But the rooms are clean with comfortable beds and linens
The location was good , close enough to everything.
Rooms were clean and provided all that was needed. Bed was comfy.
The hotel was very quiet.
Indoor pool and hot tub was only thing to do onsite.
I love the hotel. Its got the best location.Ample parking facilities.Polite staff.,clean rooms, lovely breakfast.stayed on 3 different occasions so far this year & hope to stay again later in year
The view and access to the sea had to be the best value for money with location and views won us over for the cheapest avaliable hotel at the time we were over impressed with it a*
Staff were really friendly and helpful! We had an amazing view out from our room! The location of this hotel was absolutely amazing! I really recommend this hotel.
wicked staff after we got seriously mugged off by OYO Inglewood hotel who cancelled us last minute when we already got to Torquay all the way from London
