The food in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was excellent. The carpet in the hallways needs replacing especially outside our room which was on the ground floor. Room was a good size and clean but they do need a bit of updating although please dont replace the beds as they are really comfy. We’ve stayed here numerous times and look forward to our next visit. This hotel is an ideal place to stay for visiting Ashdown Forest. Everything winning the pooh related was a short drive away. I would say you would definitely need a car for getting around this area. The service from staff is exemplary and very friendly. The rooms are very comfortable and a good size. We booked for our anniversary and it was exactly as we had hoped. A little bit of luxury, solitude, and relaxation. The food was excellent (although a little slow in the restaurant). The room was very comfortable and spacious. The grounds are delightful for a walk (we did 4km, but there are shorter walks). The staff were all friendly and helpful and the relaxing back massage was amazing!
