We stayed here as we were going to a wedding in the area so it was a fleeting visit. It was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and it was in very pleasant surroundings. A lovely hotel and I wish we could have stayed longer.

Food was excellent, we had evening meal and breakfast in the restaurant and was excellent. Room was clean, spacious and comfy, with a fan available (hot weekend). Staff we all very friendly and helpful, and really appreciated a call in the morning we were due to check-in to let me know the restaurant was getting booked and ask if we were planning to eat there so they booked a table.

With bigger cities nearby, it's easy to overlook Loughborough, but it's worth a visit. Easy to get to by train. It has some surprising gems - one of the best heritage railways in the country, a fine inclusive church, some art deco buildings.

I have been to Loughborough a few times and now I am relatively familiar with getting in and out of, where the decent pubs are, etc. then I would recommend this to all. Note: If you like craft or locally produced ale and are happy to try a selection then the pubs can service your needs. I personally like to enjoy an ale that I can take my time over and may only have a few, but if you are a session drinker then Loughborough will no doubt cater for your needs too.

As myself and my wife only stayed one night our time to look...

As myself and my wife only stayed one night our time to look around Loughborough was very limited. We'd certainly like to return this year, or in 2026 to look around Loughborough checkout the Art & Craft centers, and the selection of leading brands. My only experience was a walk from The Link hotel, to the Burleigh Court hotel to take an early morning swim for a few hours. After my swim I enquired about monthly membership for a couple which offered great value, I would use this facility if I lived in the area. When staying at The Link hotel or in Loughborough its well worth checking out The Harvester Pub, Restuarant as it literally is next door, to The Link hotel and bus links to Loughborough and beyond to Leicester city center.

Excellent Italian restaurant La Favorita in town.

Excellent Italian restaurant La Favorita in town. Lots of good pubs in the villages round about and went on two excellent walks at Dimmingsdale and Charnwood. Lots of "country parks" and nature reserves to explore (we've done some others a previous time) NB Olivias bakery at charnwood the queues were so long after our long walk we gave up. A shame as it looked really nice! Dont go on a sunday!

Loughborough is suffering from shop closures and too many charity and coffee shops only. It is now a University with a town rather than a town with a University and the whole area is being taken over by student accommodation. I lived in Loughborough and it is steadily getting worse every year.

Even though I came on business friends showed me around...

Even though I came on business friends showed me around Loughborough. Location is very close to Great central heritage railway and midland main line railway, with connection direct to London. Loughborough has a theatre, on Thursday and Saturday lively outdoor markets in central town. Taylor's bell foundry is in Loughborough who have made many famous bells over the years. Ensure you make a booking well in advance of your visit. Loughborough is around 15 miles from Leicester, Nottingham and Derby with excellent bus connection to all places. It's close to East midlands airport and Skyline buses have bus stops at the airport to Loughborough at very reasonable prices. If you come in around the 15th November, Loughborough hosts a street fair which takes over the town centre for 3 whole days. There are lots of places to eat out and bars for drinks. Loughborough has a large student population in terms time due to the very large university and colleges, situated on the ring road of the town. Have fun in Loughborough 🥳

The hotel is located just of the M1 and almost next to the University. The town centre is just a short drive away. The room was spacious and had good facilities. We requested an iron from the reception, and it was delivered to the room promptly. The hotel lounge proved to be quite spacious and comfortable, and it was great as I could continue to do some work until late afternoon even after checking out. The staff were really friendly and supportive.
