Woolpack Inn, hotel in Chichester

Located in Fishbourne, the Woolpack Inn provides the perfect base from which to explore the South Downs and Chichester Harbor, just a 10-minute walk from Fishbourne Rail Station.

Although we had requested a quiet room, we were initially put in one facing the main road. However, the staff were very helpful in rearranging things so we had two nights in quiet rooms. All the staff were friendly and helpful and I would stay there again. I enjoyed the breakfasts.

Parking was very easy to find and plentiful.

Parking was very easy to find and plentiful. The shops were great with lots of characterful independents. The Bishops garden was stunning and the Cathedral has to be seen to be believed. Once parked the centre was an easy walk with north, south east and west streets fanning out from the market cross.

Beautifully situated with a variety of interesting places to visit nearby. Easy to walk to all main sites in town and country walks directly from town. Weald and Downland Museum spectacular and reachable by bus from the Cathedral. Discounted entry for visitors using public transport. Pallant House art gallery a must. Interesting exhibitions. Lovely building and situation too. Good cafe. Cathedral and its grounds a must too, of course. Variety of cafes, restaurants. We ate in Cote, Bills and The Ivy. All good. Seemed very quiet at night.

Pretty town and easy to get to other places.

Pretty town and easy to get to other places. However, we were turned away from visiting the Cathedral by one of the organisers of the Flower Festival where the event was taking place. We were taken back by the brash man who said he was trying to get other worshippers out so they could organise flowers..... No wonder people are leaving religious buildings and moving towards home worship....

    Fascinating and beautiful cathedral.

Fascinating and beautiful cathedral. The art collection at the Pallant gallery was impressive, though no concessions on tickets for pensioners. Fishbourne Roman Palace was impressive . We loved the atmosphere and architecture of the city centre. Great Waterstones for browsing and lots of good places to eat. We had a delicious salad at Côte. The museum was packed so we didn’t linger long but it looked worth a visit.

Absolutely fabulous place. Lot's to see and do. The cathederal is wonderful as is the canal boat trip. If you like food then there's lots of restaurants here. We visited 4 and they were all good especially Purchases on North Street which was exceptional. There is also a lovely walk around the city on the historical city wall pathway.

We only had a very short trip and could have stayed much longer and done so much more, we thoroughly enjoyed what we did do though. The Bishops Palace garden is beautiful and well worth a visit, we also enjoyed Fishbourne Roman Palace, which is really interesting and has some beautiful gardens and mosaics. Sadly it rained a lot and we couldn't do some of the things we had planned, maybe next time. We visited Tinwood vineyard on our way home and had a delicious lunch and bought some lovely sparkling wine to take home.

Pretty much everything was excellent. The meal in the restaurant in the evening was very good. Breakfast had a very wide selection of fare, hot and cold. The location is excellent for exploring the Chichester and surrounding area. There was no problem with parking. The gym was very well supplied with machines and weights. The swimming pool with sauna and jacuzzi was very relaxing. Both these facilities had their busy periods. The staff were friendly and helpful.

A very comfortable holiday let in a wonderful location--very close to Chichester, yet definitely out in the country. Near a great pub at Dell Quay. Well-equipped kitchen with everything needed for meal prep. Comfy beds, cozy living space, great shower. Jack's a terrific host--easy to get in touch with and very responsive. This was the second time I've stayed at Quay Quarters, and I'll be back the next time I'm in Chichester.

Super location, close to shopping, the train station, and Chichester Cathedral. The apartment was quiet, spacious, bright and cheery, and kitchen was well equipped for preparing meals. Groceries are 10 min walk in the city centre (M&S, Tesco Express) if you are preparing meals in. There is a lift from the ground floor entry to the first floor apartment entry, where all rooms are on a single level.

Was expecting a proper Breakfast to be honest but it was just cereals and fruit etc. If you wanted a full English or eggs, you need to go to shop to buy these. Location was a mile walk from Chichester town centre. Good area and parking is outside. Just need to give car registration to the owner to cover permit. Owner was welcoming and showed us around the B&B.

Great location, very green and leafy with beautiful old buildings all around. Our room had a wonderful garden view that looked over what looked like a manor house and grounds. Also excellent central location in Chichester. Easy access with a code too which took some worries away about checking in.

Close to Chichester and facilities. The room was excellent although separate from the restaurant so got wet transferring from one to the other. The hotel was well kept and clean and in lovely surrounds. The breakfast was very good, but subject to the minus points below.

Both rooms were comfortable, the stairs were a bit of a hassle as both couples were in their 60's. The breakfast was excellent and the free parking was a bonus. We would recommend this hotel in Chichester to anyone wanting a comfortable and good value room.

I think the owner said the building was built in 1785 and had been a pub or roadhouse the whole time. That's older than nearly every building in Canada! Chichester can easily be walked and we were steps from the city wall. Free parking.
