Port Lympne Mansion Hotel, hotel in Dymchurch

We booked a treat as have two birthdays in December. My husband, me and my son stayed at the hotel and enjoyed the reserve. Customer service was really good and the room we had was just lovely, very clean and the most amazing bath that you could lie down in - a bonus for tall people! We had breakfast included as part of our package and it was delicious. As part of the stay, we had entry to the reserve on the day of check in and also on the day of check out - you could choose Howlett's if you wanted instead - the use of a golf buggy during our stay and an included safari ride. We took advantage of the black Friday deal and got up close and personal to a rather gorgeous rhino - the keeper was so knowledgeable and friendly and clearly enjoyed his interaction with the animals. All in all an amazing experience and we would love to go back. Thank you also to the hotel for recognising our two birthdays and putting birthday cards in our room - a very nice touch!

Dymchurch is a very small seaside town.

Dymchurch is a very small seaside town. The attraction of the area is in exploring the whole coastline from Hythe in the East to Rye and Rye Harbour in the West. The local St. Mary's Bay has a wonderful stretch of open wet sand and shingle beach and the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway with a mixture of locomotives is another local delight. Port Lympne Safari Park is a short drive away and the beautiful sand dunes of Camber Sands about 25 minutes by car. Lots to explore but must expect to drive and discover. A selection of Country Parks are on offer in the local area and decent grocery shopping facilities are in Hythe and New Romney. Dogs allowed on the beaches between 1st October to 30th April. River boat hire is available at Hythe town. Over-commercialism is not what to seek here!

Dymchurch is a beautiful small English Village. The beaches are beautiful and Sandy. 48 Restaurant has the best Fish and Chips. The batter was crispy and the fish so fresh. The small fun fair is has lots of rides and slot machines. The R H & D railway is beautiful and worth the money.

Dymchurch is a small town with an amazing sandy beach.

Dymchurch is a small town with an amazing sandy beach. It has nice pubs, restaurants, take aways, coffee shops, and even a children's fairground and not forgetting an amusement arcade. It has some lovely towns to visit not far away. Hythe, Folkestone, Romney, Deal, Sandwich, Rye and Dungeness, to name but a few. The small steam train runs from Hythe to Dungeness, a great little trip, unfortunately it wasn't running on the day we went, but have used it several times before, it's great and children love it too.

We loved Dymchurch, the holiday park was a short drive and the beach was a sandy beach and really beautiful. There is a little fun fair and loads of little shops and icecream places for the kids. We used the smaller village hall car park just off the main road which can be paid for on PayByPhone so no change required

The beach is one of the best we have visited.

The beach is one of the best we have visited. It is not overly commercialised and the local public house serves excellent meals with friendly service. There is a car park close to the beach for easy access and shops close to hand.

Good base for walking along the sea wall at South Kent Coast. The Coffee Lounge can be recommended. The centre of Dymchurch has a small amusement arcade with roller coaster, Twister & dodgems. Very clean coastline and ideal for dog walkers, cyclists also. Railway station is a short walk away and worth a visit. Be prepared to pay £24 for an adult ticket (discounts are available). Remember that this isn't Government funded and any help is appreciated!
