The staff were exceptionally helpful and cheerful even when we were late and bit disorganised. The hotel was very clean and rooms great value for money. We enjoyed the breakfast the next morning which had an excellent selection of cereals, fruits and a very good cooked vegetarian option.
In the heart of Fareham, Lysses House is an elegant Georgian hotel on the main shopping street, a short walk from the center of town and easily accessible from highway M27.

The Staff were excellent. Friendly, helpful. They went above and beyond and always with a smile.
Plenty of parking, lovely garden area.
The average price per night for a 3-star hotel in Fareham this weekend is $129 or, for a 4-star hotel, $139. Looking for something even fancier? 5-star hotels in Fareham for this weekend cost around $358 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).
Strange. The town had all the shops and amenities, and particularly coffee shops, pubs and food outlets, but the town was quiet throughout all of 2 weekdays. Its a nice enough place but seemed deserted, even inside the shopping centre.
Waterstones book store seemed to have a very different range of books on British/Foreign history than its other locations, and I could have stayed there for hours. Fareham Library is also well equipped with reference material on local history. Though much of the town has been rebuilt or had new facades, and its past is vanishing.
Boy, that train station is a long walk away from the town centre !
Would recommend the Golden Lion for food/drink and conversation.

Fareham is a lovely old unspoilt example of georgian houses and buildings, interlaced with newer builds along the high street. It has a lovely atmosphere and is well worth a visit, as you can easily drive down to the local historic dockyards and go to the only Hovercraft museum in the world.

Fareham has plenty of shops, cheap pubs and eateries.
Fareham has plenty of shops, cheap pubs and eateries. It's an ideal situation for us to stay as we have family in Fareham, Hamble Le Rice and Hayling Island. Wickham is a lovely village just 10 minutes drive away and a bus runs there from Fareham. Wickham has great parking and lovely shops and eateries, would recommend a visit.

Like most small towns Fareham has suffered a little over the years with some of the bigger shops now gone and that has had a knock of effect. I used to live in Fareham until I retired some 7 years ago but do get back from time to time .it’s location makes it ideal as an access point to Southampton, Portsmouth and the south coast and the New forest.

Great situation near shops and public transport.
Great situation near shops and public transport. Hotel and restaurant staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and evening meals I had very generous portions and well cooked.
Couldn't get WiFi which was restricting and difficult to contact people, although lady in Reception tried to help. No lift to the higher floors and no person available to help with luggage.

A pity that the wedding guests filled up lounge area.
A pity that the wedding guests filled up lounge area. So nowhere’s to sit
Also lots of little children running about and screaming without supervision whilst eating our meal
Very off putting
Restaurant staff said happens regularly and disturbs diners
We have never experienced such friendly and accommodating staff in a long time.
The building is an historical building with lovely decor in the dining and lobby areas. The wing with the hotel rooms is more basic, and could use some newer carpeting but the rooms are quite large, well appointed bathrooms and very comfortable beds.
The back garden was wonderful to sit out on in the evenings as we were there when it was quite warm in Fareham.
Breakfasts were full on, with made to order eggs.
How refreshing to enter a room and see a bright and modern decor. A spacious room and even a balcony.
Spotlessly clean and a comfy bed.
The hot breakfast was sublime.
Ample car parking and a pub next door.
This place was really really to our liking.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
I could have stayed here a week no bother.
Will use this accomodation again when next in Portsmouth
Spa facilities were great, excellent gym and studio space too. The gym was kitted out with high spec technogym equipment. Bedroom was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. The shower is powerful - possibly even too powerful. Location is really well situated for exploring Portsmouth, Southampton and Winchester and there are many local surrounding pubs to explore.
Clean and convenient. Great location: short drive from the beach and other locations and very handy having the Lidl just a stone's throw from the hotel. Plus, Whiteley shopping centre was only few minutes' drive away. Hotel or more like the lodge had good parking facilities and very dog friendly. Friendly staff.
Beautiful. Fabulous grounds.
Not very accessible unless with car.
Every taxi company I tried said they did not cover this area, until I was lucky enough to find an Ex London cabi who had moved to Southampton & was prepared to help a Londoner travel to & from the airport to hotel & work.
enclosed off street car park at the back of the hotel! i was worried about my van as vans are a target for thieves but i was relieved when i arrived .
staff were amazing, good selection of beers at the bar. food was nice and promptly served.
room was spotless and bed really comfortable.
Perfectly located just minutes from Portsmouth Ferry Port, for an overnight stay. Within easy walking distance to town, reasonably priced bar menu for a late (8.45pm) arrival and an excellent breakfast. What more do you need? Enjoyed our stay and will definitely use again.
Lovely house in a beautiful location, lovely warm and friendly. Bedroom is the same size as my first house. Garden is great to walk around and it's so quiet. Great for Southampton or Portsmouth. I would recommend this to all my friends and am booking again myself.
Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. Exceptionally clean hotel and rooms.. Easy location to get to everywhere the area has to offer.. Will definitely be booking a stay at travelrest Fareham again.
Clean and neat. Warm, friendly atmosphere. Great restaurant and bar attached centrally located in Fareham within walking distance of all shops, train station, and bus station.
Very quiet location with just a little train noise. Two blocks from the supermarket. Easy access to the sights of Portsmouth and the Roman villa. Good internet. Nice shower.
I have stayed many times and always found it good I have family nearby so has always been a good and friendly hotel ,food is good and right in the centre of fareham.
The hotel was beautiful, quiet and well appointed. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. Short walk to a shopping center... excellent hotel. Plenty of parking.
