This is our favorite place to stay. The the venue and food are amazing but the staff are outstanding. They can't do enough to make your stay extra special. They are main reason we go back.

The Dog & Bear was very comfortable. Great to have a bath with really hot water after a hard day walking the Pilgrims Way. Food was just what we needed, well cooked, filling and tasty. Incredible walks through fields just past the medieval church. I went to the local shop to buy some dog food and they let the dog in. I chatted to locals and visited some more of the shops all dog friendly. The village is beautiful and has a range of pubs and restaurants which I didn’t get chance to use. It was a really nice place to stay for a night. I would have like to have stayed longer. To top it off I heard a nightingale on my walk. I’ll definitely be back. Sweet, quintessential English village.
Sweet, quintessential English village. The Bow Window coffee shop is first rate both food and staff. Under new management since beginning of February 2020. Close to Leeds Castle and Chilston Park Hotel amongst beautiful countryside.

Staff complied with COVID restrictions really well and although we stayed for 4 nights and our room was not serviced, the staff were quick to provide anything we needed. The breakfasts and dinners were tasty and exceptional value for money. Free parking to the back of the hotel Lovely location.
