It’s a big gray city. A lots of lovely parks and pathways to walk (to Torry Batery, to Brig O’Braowine, by the beach…). It’s also a city with a lot of history and sometimes very dark and morbid. The people are friendly and accommodating. The city is small so it is easy to get all necessities and amenities within a short travel distance. However, you need a bank loan to take the public transport and the routes are sometimes longer than walking. We were there for about 24 hours, en route to the Shetland Islands. We very much enjoyed the open top bus tour, and spent a long time in the excellent art gallery. We could easily have spent longer in the gallery and exploring the city - several days probably!
