Lynton is a lovely small village with all amenities you need...
Lynton is a lovely small village with all amenities you need. Couple of pubs with good food and drink. Some excellent food restaurants especially the Kensington for steaks. The Green house was brilliant for early morning coffee and fry up. Lynton isn't the easiest place to drive to but well worth the effort. We avoided Porlock Hill (we have a very old car) and used the toll road. It costs £3 but the views are wonderful. Lynton itself has plenty of places to eat, a good Arts and Crafts Centre plus a second-hand community bookshop, as well as lots of other interesting shops. It's a lovely little town just to wander round and of course you have the cliff railway to take you down to Lynmouth.Guest review byjillUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Lynton is a lovely little town, plenty of eating places. The only down side is the hill getting there, it is very, and the turn into Lynton is very sharp. Choughs Nest Hotel is a lovely place good views, but the breakfast was not up to much for me, and it's the only hotel we've stayed in where you don't get any bottles of water.Guest review bySmith - 10.0

Both Lynton and Lynmouth are beautiful villages with many shops, cafes and restaurants. It’s lovely to just walk round in the evening too. There is the added bonuses of the vehicular tram and a cute independent cinema. Lynton is between Minehead and Barnstaple, so you can easily get to anywhere you would like to go in between. Was at a Lynton hotel for the night after completing the Exmoor trek, meeting up with other family members. We had planned a few drinks in the bar and then a family meal in the evening. Of course that did not happen because there was NO BAR AND NO FOOD AND NO HOT SHOWERS AND NO LIFT. One of my daughters had a toddler so had to lug everything up to the 3rd floor. The choice of restaurants is incredible for a small town, the walks and views are stunning especially Valley of Rocks. Lynton cinema is well worth a visit and the light railway is a great way to travel between Lynton and Lynmouth.Guest review byKeithUnited Kingdom

Well situated for exploring Exmoor and the North Devon coast. The accommodation was fully equipped with everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and the property was warm and clean. Nice patio to sit out on in the evening with a glass of wine and enjoy the views. Within minutes walk of local shops and the cliff railway. The owners were very welcoming and helpful.
