Very personable and friendly team.
Long distance drive meant that I would be arriving late. Not a problem for the Wheatsheaf Inn, I received a phone call half-way through my journey to see how I was getting on.
Rooms very clean, I had a great night sleep, bed was very comfy.
The breakfast was 10/10 with lots of choices outside of your standard cooked breakfast.

Very welcoming owner/host, comfortable room, and spectacular breakfast. The inn is beautifully decorated as a launch site for a day on the Tweed. Momentos of great fishing, shooting, trekking decorate the banquet/breakfast area. Fine art by local artists compliment the theme. The real treat is breakfast, itself. The black pudding and the sausage are unique and well prepared. He has specially sourced them from people who understand and appreciate sports people. Not gamey, just delicious.

We stayed at Wheatsheaf Hotel, and it was superb. Swinton is a very small, remote village in the Scottish borders. It appears on this, our first visit, to be sleepy and have little to do, but this was in January so it is probably not a true reflection. There are, however, a number of bigger towns within a reasonably short drive. so a car is essential to get about.
The location of the hotel was perfect for an overnight stop on a long journey. The room was charming with double aspect windows and a view over the green. The furnishings were comfortable and the room had everything you needed for a peaceful night. The hotel was spotlessly clean and tidy and very well presented.
We ate dinner in the hotel, as well as breakfast, and the food was first rate.
We would definitely recommend this hotel .
The location was well placed for our activities being just a few miles from places of interest. The room was in the annexe and was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very pleasant and obliging and the food excellent with good variety of menu items for breakfast and dinner and was all freshly home made. Very happy with our choice of hotel.
As part of a wedding group that stayed at the hotel over the weekend we were very well looked after and the food was excellent. The bar prices were very reasonable and the interaction with the staff was excellent. We will definitely stay there again when next visiting the Berwick area.
This is a very good hotel - great food, lovely staff and a nice atmosphere in the bar. Have stayed here 3 times and would do so again. The only thing that might put off some visitors is that Swinton is a very small village and the hotel is the only place to go.
The breakfast was exceptional. The location was rather remote to Berwick on Tweed and North Berwick, but the Hotel was a treat and was the nearest we could get to the places mentioned earlier. We would definitely recommend the hotel.
we were driving home from Scotland, were too tired to continue journey so decided to stay overnight before continuing journey back to London.
We were pleased that the Wheatsheaf Hotel could accommodate us on a B&B basis.
fantastic breakfast, very friendly staff, I used this hotel as a base to sightsee and visit Scotland, borders and Northumberland. Very good place for the foodies to enjoy - the meals were superb.
