    I love Chichester.

I love Chichester. I go there for the theatre which is one of the best and always good for a summer musical. Apart from that, there is a beautiful cathedral, parks, a city wall for walks, a canal, many restaurants and pubs and great shops, especially the charity shops with exceptional clothes. It is one of my favourite towns.

The city centre is pedestrianised with a very enjoyable relaxed feel. The people in Chichester seem warm, welcoming and friendly. Lots of shops cafes and restaurants, many that are like the Tardis, they go back and back and end in a surprising garden. Pallant House Gallery is an amazing gallery of modern British art. They tell me that they can only show a fraction of their collection at any particular time, so a return visit will definitely be on the cards. Also loved the Cathedral, Chichester Festival Theatre, Georgian architecture and Bishops Garden. Lots of hidden places that I feel I have yet to discover. Relatively undiscovered gem! Look forward to another visit.

Visited Chicester for a couple of hours yesterday.

Visited Chicester for a couple of hours yesterday. Parking was easy and the charges were very responsible. What a beautiful thriving High Street. Lovely mixture of shops. Due to limited time we only managed to walk through the cloisters. The cathedral looked beautiful from outside. Nice walk through Bishops Palace gardens too. Would definitely recommend a visit. Savouries & cakes were purchased from The Cornish Bakery which were delicious. Visited The hole in the Wall pub in the evening with family (13 of us) for an evening meal. The ladies working the bar were lovely as was the chef who was very accommodating with dietary requirements.

A lovely small city, with plenty to see on foot - the cathedral and its gardens, the Pallant Gallery was excellent (with a very good lunch to boot), part of the city walls to walk along, and a fabulous theatre. Other sights such as Fishbourne Roman Palace easy to get to by bus. Some good pubs and restaurants.

A city of incredible culture and buildings, with so much to do and see. A shopping meccas with great independent shops and calibre chains. Check restaurant opening hours, some closed rather earlier than the theatre finishes so think ahead. Canal boat trip, cathedral, walking tours, and nice coastal marina and seaside nearby.

Chichester is a gem of a City - it is relatively small considering it is a catherdral city - and has a rich and long history, going back to Roman times . The central area, which is full of attractive 18th Century Georgian architecture, is encircled by a Roman wall; the remains of a Roman villa are situated in nearby Fishbourne. Culturally, there is a top notch theatre, Chichester Festival Theatre, and an art gallery. To the North of the City you are about 5 miles from hills of the South Downs National Park, and Goodwood racing course is up there too. To the South, Chichester Harbour is an Area of Outstanding National Beauty. The only downside is the traffic on the A27 Chichester bypass which needs major national investment. The traffic is worsening as thousands of new houses are being built.

Stayed at the East Walls hotel for the Goodwood Revival. Excellent location for Chichester station, restaurants etc and Cattle Market long stay car park nearby. Didn't spend much time in the hotel, but when we arrived early we were able to check in and drop our bags in the room early before departing for the circuit which was really helpful. Hotel and room were clean with attractive decor. Room was good size, quiet and overlooked nice garden area. Breakfast on the Monday morning was good in attractive breakfast room overlooking the garden

The location was fantastic, especially if travelling into the area car free, you can walk to any shops, restaurants bars as its central Chichester. The hotel was in a good state though our room had a water damaged patch on the ceiling it wasn't overly noticeable. (its an old building) The Décor was well thought through and nice rooms with enough space. Bed was comfortable with nice bedding!

Good central location in Chichester and just a short walk from the train station. Friendly staff and a warm welcome. Being in the town centre, everything you need is close by. Didn't stay for breakfast, as I had to leave early (my fault lol), but the fact it was included in the price means that the hotel offers very good value for money in this day and age.
