Lovely town some nice shops but quite expensive. Couple of nice pubs and several nice cafes. Worth the walk to south sands beach and the Winking Prawn cafe. Interesting history, ship wrecks, war years, visit the small maritime museum, it is free, donations welcomed. Salcombe is a treat, whether single, couples, children and very cute dogs. It is an iconic fishing village with small ferries to different beach locations. It has waterfront restaurants, pubs, accommodation, and shops. Salcombe gets extremely busy in Summer and over school holidays. Parking is always a premium so plan ahead. The town hosts many clothes shops together with traditional sweet shops, cafes and pubs. The Ferry to East Portlemouth is a must for a sandy beach or the boat Kirby runs coastal trips around the harbour which is excellent. A walk/drive along the cliff road is great for visiting North and South Sands and a meal, coffee or snack at the Winkin Prawn is a must. Salcombe is a beautiful part of the world.
Salcombe is a beautiful part of the world. We loved the Devon Rum Bar - the cocktails were perfect and I can't wait to go back for more. Also, I left something behind and the kind staff had kept it safe for me. We also ate at the King's Arms and the food was good and in generous portions. We loved getting pastries and cakes from the local bakery and the fact that it was just before the Easter Holiday season so it was nice and quiet with no queueing.Guest review byWij

The lodge has lots of lovely features that reflect its location. Local art work, nic nacs, lamps, furniture. Plenty of towels. 2 bathrooms is great. Good showers with lots of hot water and great water pressure. Lovely outside deck and seating area. Dog friendly. Located very close to an open dog exercise field.
