Situated in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, one of the last truly unspoiled parts of the world, the hotel looks out across the picturesque Spey Valley to the 18th century Ruthven Barracks.

A great base for walking, birding and relaxing.
A great base for walking, birding and relaxing. We came by train, no need for a car. Good local bus services. Plenty of walks for 4-5 days. Some lovely shops, and a fantastic farmer's market (if you're there on a 3rd Sunday of the month or Halloween). Excellent fish & chip shop, a very fine Bistro. I hear the Chinese Takeaway is the best in northern Scotland.

Set not too far from Avemore and Newtownmore and in the heart of the Cairngorms. A lovely little town with very friendly locals. Some nice little shops including a lovely small bookshop.
There is also a fish and chip shop(very popular), Chinese takeaway (which is really good) and a small co op. Several really quality charity shops also are excellent. Recommended

The McInnes House Hotel in Kingussie serves lovely meals.
The McInnes House Hotel in Kingussie serves lovely meals. Kingussie is a very quiet place although the chippy is always busy. There is also a co-op.
We went to visit Aviemore, Loch Morloch. Nethy bridge. There is alot of lovely walks through out the area. Pine Trees forest is lovely if you want to explore. The road to the back of the Duke of Gordon hotel takes you to a lovely caravan park. We used the hotel as a base and travelled to Gairloch and Loch Carron.

Amazing scenery surrounding the village with lots of lovely walks. An ideal place to visit the surrounding area. It is a quite village but has all the shops you would want practically. It also has some delightful shops to visit for gifts and a great second hand book shop. Food in the Duke was good and The Bistro served lovely food. Both cafes in the village served very good food. I would hope to return again. stayed for a week but could have stayed longer. I was fortunate to be there when there was a market on which only happens once a month.

The history of Kingussie is vast its an enchanting area where Kings held court. Strathspey railway near by a great day out on a steam train.
The landscape countryside is awesome. I liked the area very much.
Super friendly host who gave me privacy but was available for any questions or needs. Great location walkable to town but not right in the center. Also very easy access to some nice walking trails. Parking was easy. Breakfast for a small extra charge was good. The bed was comfortable and the room had lots of personal touches; it was also spacious. My bathroom was private but not attached (I knew this in advance) and I liked that it was a little quirky. Much less expensive than other options in Kingussie or Aviemore. Overall a great value.
The villa is in a great location. Shop, supermarket, restaurants and train station are nearby. The town itself is quiet and peaceful. Meanwhile, the villa is close to the tourist spots, like the highland wildlife park, Loch Morlich Watersports. There are some walk trails within walking distance. The villa was sparkling clean. Shaun, the host was so nice to allow us to early check-in as we were a group with kids and elderly. He was also responsive to our enquiries. We enjoyed so much during the stay. Highly recommended the villa.
Great location in Kingussie and also close enough to Aviemore. Sarah was very friendly and was always ready to make recommendations on places to visit both in Kingussie and further afield in Scotland. The family room had two seperate bedrooms which was ideal for giving everyone a little more space. The breakfast was delicious and portions were huge. We ate in the restaurant due to not much being open in town in February - would defiantly recommend it.
The hotel has real character, with friendly and welcoming staff. Location is excellent, with good parking. Very comfy bed and clean room. We had a lovely evening meal (mine was very good vegan alternative) in the main dining room, which has lovely paintings and atmosphere. Very good value for room and meal. The bar has excellent range of malts etc. There was a pub quiz and live music in the ballroom. We will definitely book again.
We returned to Arden House. Fabulous stay as always. Hosts are so lovely and the place always feels so welcoming.and homely! We love it there. Breakfast are amazing. Place is spotlessly clean. Great location for walking, small town of Kingussie, railway station within walking distance. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in the area.Thank you both as always :)
They catered to our every need and desire. The house and our room were fantastic. Easy walk down the hill to Kingussie and an easy drive to Aviemore. The breakfast and everything else was 5-star. An omelet s/b just an omelet but theirs was one of the best we have ever had. The salmon with scrambled eggs was also a standout.
The breakfast choices were great. We had the pancakes with bacon or fruit. Yum!!
Other guests had cooked breakfast which looked really good .
I liked the hotel location as I was travelling to some family attractions that were quite close by. Kingussie seems to have shops and eateries within walking distance of the hotel.
Staff was incredibly helpful. Told us of Cafe Bistro restaurant nearby and even phoned to book a table for us. The restaurant was excellent and very well priced.
Comfortable and quiet night. Bathroom clean and we'll stocked with toiletries.
Amazing hosts made our stay in Kingussie fantastic. The Osprey Hotel is a clean, comfortable, and cozy hotel, and our hosts were amazingly accommodating. We were traveling with our dog and they spoiled her rotten! Highly recommend.
From the freshly baked cookies awaiting us in the room, to the team’s warm welcome, we immediately felt at home in the Highlands. Everything is new and the place is absolutely spotless. The breakfast was amazing too!
The hosts were the most amazing, friendly and helpful people, their hospitality was beyond anything we have experienced before. Lovely hotel in a lovely location, great for exploring the Highlands.
