Its a beautiful little village quite central to some fabulous walks. While there I walked along a ridgeway down to Kimmeridge bay, and also walked sections of the coast path (the access to it is about a half hour walk straight down from Kingston). It would be very easy to walk to Corfe as well, although both Corfe and Kingston are on the bus route between Wareham and Swanage. There did not appear to be anywhere to buy groceries in the village, but the local pub was great and the beer garden had fabulous views over to Corfe castle.ClaireUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10
The food was very good.
The food was very good. The breakfasts especially good and able to be tailor made. Staff were friendly and chatty making one feel welcome. Situation, really good tp explore the Purbeck area. Bus service regular. RSPB/National Trust/Coast/Heritage Railway/Walks/Beaches all easily accessible.

Beautiful cosy accommodation after a days walking the coast. The warmth of the room was so welcome after hours of -1c and below with windchill. Underfloor heating on tired feet including the bathroom/wet room a delight. The bed was huge and so comfy. Had dinner in the sawmill restaurant which was excellent, washed down with a red wine or 3? Staff very helpful, accommodating and smiling. I am going back with the kids to get one of the larger properties and discover the more of the coast. The staff were brilliant. Well informed, helpful, friendly. Room was immaculate, comfortable, well equipped. Surrounding countryside is beautiful with great views from all sides of the hotel. From the pictures we'd seen expected it to be much more regimented, but everyone was so relaxed and friendly it was like a home away from home. Particular compliments to Tony, Danielle, Claudine and Amy. If I haven't mentioned your name I'm sorry but I have a dreadful memory for that sort of stuff. The food, the restaurant staff and Claudine on reception were all excellent. The grounds are beautiful. Linen and towels are provided. Close to Corfe so excellent for things to do. Hotel provides plenty of information for surrounding activities, restaurants and pubs to suit all tastes. The service on days when there is a wedding is unacceptable. I would advise asking if there are any weddings or big functions on during your planned stay. If so be prepared for limited or no staff availability. Also, the room service (cleaning) was not of a high standard. Beds were not made properly, just the top covers were pulled up to hide the fact the sheet and mattress protector had not been pulled up or tucked in.MichelleUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10

Small, quaint village, I only drove through it to get to the Country Courtyard. Easy reach to Durdle Doord and Lulworth Cove where I drove to each day in less than half hour. STUNNING view over Corfe Castle and I wished I had more time to go visit Wareham was within easy reach to drop a friend off at the train station and for me to get to a Co-op for some food/meal deals Had visited the Castle Inn near Durdle Door for cooked lunch and had chips in Lulworth another day. 100% recommend the Marshfields Dairy Icea Cream at Lulworth Cove attached to Finley's Cafe. It was DELICIOUS! I would aim to go to the coast early morning if you want to avoid the crowds and get a good parking spot or spot on the beach. Most people came out mid morning-noon The car parks at DD and LC are run by the same people so you can use the same parking ticket in both which is brilliantLauraUnited Kingdom

The hotel is 100 m from a bus stop if you're taking the bus service. The restaurant in the hotel is decent and the food was good, closes early though, don't forget to reserve dinner ahead of time. We got a duplex apartment which was quite spacious.

It's a somewhat quirky inn, which adds to its charm. The view from the back of the inn is fantastic.
