What an amazing location, what a lovely hotel, what wonderful dining. This is a really special place. There is so much to do around the area, ie walking, animal and bird watching. The hotel is set in a peaceful setting and the staff are the best.

The Mingarry is a “boutique hotel” of 8 rooms where the host, Emma, gives personal service. The entire hotel: entry, room, restaurant, is beautifully decorated. At the entry, there’s a little bookcase gift shop of postcards, journals and other locally-themed and locally-made items.
We stayed in the Mingarry Room. The living room area was huge with a large sofa, coffee table and desk and a tiny balcony that felt very safe. A little table and two chairs were provided and the balcony offered a great view of the highlands and the surrounding fields. Not a dramatic view but a quiet and calm one. The bedroom included nightstands, another desk, and a little bench to sit on to enjoy the view from the window. Skylight in the bathroom which was really nice to let light in but keep the bathroom private. The bathrobes were huge fluffy, so luxurious! The bed was so soft and we slept really well. The living room included a Nespresso machine and tea kettle with teas, instant coffee and cocoa, biscuits. There was also a small fridge with mini-bar with free waters along with liquors and luxury snack items for a fee.
Behind the hotel is a lovely grassy field, ponds and farm ducks. In the field were three, clear geodomes to relax in style! Each “pod” kept the cold and the bugs out. Inside each pod is a heater, love seat and lounge chairs that can seat 4, a coffee table and lights. Mimosas on arrival (can’t beat that!) and Emma will also deliver snacks, desserts or libations.
The attached restaurant—hands down, the best food of our trip! Their Cullen Skink is to die for! The menu changes frequently according to the availability of local produce. There are few tables and there are few restaurants in the area so having a reservation is a good idea. The restaurant includes a bar with a good selection of local whiskies and gins.
There was plenty of parking. A car is needed to get here and to the area attractions. Most of the roads are single lane but the drive is worth it!
Located in Acharacle, Loch Shiel Hotel has a garden and a shared lounge. Featuring a restaurant, the property also has a public bar. The accommodations provides free WiFi.
Located on the west coast of Scotland, surrounded by the scenic countryside, The Airds Hotel and Restaurant is a converted ferry inn with free WiFi access and free on-site parking.

A perfect oasis in a beautiful location. Amazing food too. The room was quiet and comfortable with decent shower so 'tick', but the highlight is the location - a fantastic base for a much longer stay next time.
Appin Bay View in Appin provides accommodations with free bikes and barbecue facilities. This beachfront property offers access to a terrace, free private parking, and free Wifi.

Didn't like · The reception was very modest, and with the 3rd sentence I was already asked to pay for my stay in advance.
The room, called SUNART Suite, was not worth the price.
It was practically unheated, the radiators could not be operated. In all other hotels on this trip it was possible. Then after a few hours the heaters warmed up to a lukewarm state, but only for a short time. The heated towel rail in the bathroom only worked in the bottom third and could not be used. In order to go to the dining room, you had to leave the main building so that you could get to the restaurant.
I can describe the food as very good.
In this part, too, it was rather uncomfortably cold until the window was closed after complaints from some guests.

Strontian is so well placed for visiting this beautiful area of Scotland. It’s at the head of the quiet Ardnamuchan peninsula and within a short drive from iconic places such as Fort William and Mallaig. The area is simply wonderful for wildlife enthusiasts who want a relaxing, peaceful and mindful experience.

Lots to do in Strontian.
Lots to do in Strontian. Good walks in Ariundle forest reserve, plus swimming in the Strontian river there. Beaches on the loch for swimming and boating. It looked as if there was some lovely mountain walking but we weren't there long enough. Kilcamb hotel very nice for dinner.

Do not go till the Pandemic is past, but when safe again, it is beautiful, on the glorious loch, very good, well supplied and friendly shops and cafe. Good hotels, B&Bs, excellent food in many places. Walking paradise, canoeing and sailing, heavenly scenery.

Love the location and views , rooms comfortable and dog friendly but lacking that attention to detail that it used to have.
Spent first half hour ringing receiption for things I would normally expect to be in the room without asking, ie tea/coffee tray , iron and ironing board.
Paid extra for the seven course taster menu and was sadly disappointed with the standard, pasta to thick , duck dish like a Chinese take away , fish course poor .
We have visited Kilcamb many times over the past 12 years but having also stayed in similar priced hotels in Scotland now find Kilcamb over priced and not the exceptional hotel it used to be.
Graham is the best host I have ever experienced in my many travels. We arrived late at the hotel because the ferry is broken (this was an inconvenience because we were traveling with a baby) and he received us with a warm welcome and lots and lots of food because everything had already closed. He was super nice the next day too and cooked a Greta Scottish breakfast for us. If you read this Graham thank you for the Scottish welcome, is indeed nice to be nice!!
Very clean, nice airy room, excellent bathroom with modern shower and enough space, quiet neighbourhood, tasty breakfast, very good restaurant in Strontian. Location is good to travel to either Fort William/ Glencoe region or towards Isle of Skye, beautiful area with lots of Lochs and Glens
Could not fault this charming little guest house. Nestled in the beautiful hills surrounding Strontian, you will be hard pushed to find a more relaxing spot. Paul & Lorna were excellent and hospitable from welcome to goodbye. I would stay here again in a heart beat.
Graham is a character and a real sweetheart. He’s very knowledgeable about the area, loves Otis Redding and Elvis, and is a great cook. It was raining during my whole stay, so I spent a lot of cozy time at the hotel. I was made to feel very welcome and comfortable.
The house is in an extraordinarely beautiful location but not the easiest place to get to (only the first time ☺️). A very nice guesthouse near Strontian. Paul and Lorna are lovely hosts. The breakfast was absolutely delicious in a lovely dining room.

We enjoyed our stay from the moment we entered the hotel and were greeted by our host,'Alexander'. The hotel was warm and comfortable, with a log fire in the reception lounge where we met a delightful couple with a lovely dog!
The location - Strontian - is extremely beautiful and the house is only a few minutes' walk away from both the shops (and information centre) in one direction and the Ariundle Nature Research (and tea rooms) in the others.
Very friendly and welcoming hosts who went out of their way to make us comfortable. Also really helpful about what to see and do in the Strontian area.
