We stayed in Woodbridge to visit Sutton Hoo. We had a great visit and found more we wish to visit in the area. We will come back to explore some more and stay at the Cherry Tree again.

Hotel needs upgrading and refurbishing in every area. Pool out of order for whole of our stay due to issue with chlorine levels which when I checked on TripAdvisor seems to be a regular occurrence.. Completely different and very limited menu options offered to the one advertised. This continued for the whole of our stay as there were some kind of problem in the kitchen and so we ate out after the first night. We very much enjoyed our visit to this lovely town with all its independent shops and lovely nostalgic 'village' feel- such relief from the endless "Shopping Centres' with their bland offerings. There is a great selection of places to eat and the thriving Riverside Theatre/Cinema where we saw an arthouse film. We walked the River Deben: to see the Longship Project and excellent FREE Museum, then on for a day out at fascinating Sutton Hoo. Buses were a welcome surprise with easy trips to Aldeburgh and beyond. Friendly and sociable little market town. Lovely walks with a good comfortable vibe even at night, felt safe. So many nice places to stop and sit and people smile which is a good indicator of the warm feel you get being there.
