Guatemala is a very friendly country, filled with incredible Mayan ruins, exotic birdlife, and stunning volcanoes. We spent time in Flores, Tikal, Antigua, Xela and Lake Atitlan. We also spent several days hiking, including volcano treks and staying with families in homestays, properly experiencing the local communities. Our hike up Acatenango and a night spent watching Volcan de Fuego erupt was one of the most incredible experiences of my life.
We were nervous about the reports of crime but we felt safe the whole time albeit we remained cautious and alert. We travelled on the local buses, and people were always helpful getting us off at the right stop and on to the next correct bus.

Guatemala is just a unique and diverse country, filled with new experiences waiting for you. Unless you take the time to get to know some Guatemalans, it won’t be a complete stay. From Atitlan lake to colonial Antigua, to the coast and up into the Mayan ruins of Tikal, you won’t find a more interesting and friendly country on earth! Traffic is tough in the capital and a bit curvy in the high mountains. Food is always fresh and delicious with beans, rice, corn and fresh fruit always. Check out Santo Domingo in Antigua for the nicest colonial ambience and wedding destination from around the world.

Antigua is a must see when you're in Guatemala.
Antigua is a must see when you're in Guatemala. It's just an hour away, and it is best if you go for a tour guide as they give you a very complete feel of the Guatemalan culture that is mixed of Mayan and Spanish culture

Fantastic place to visit.
Fantastic place to visit. We got to see most of the main sights during our two weeks but it was very busy...I'd suggest taking a little longer to see the country (as there's a lot of mini-bus travel) or booking in a few relaxing days at the end of the trip.
The location is great, just a 10-minute walk from La Autora International Airport. I was able to walk to the airport, even with luggage. The hotel also provides a transfer service to take you to the airport, and the journey is less than 5 minutes by car, which is very positive because traffic in Guatemala City can be intense and chaotic. The establishment is quite clean, the bed comfortable, and the staff very attentive. It has a beautiful backyard where you can have a coffee or do some reading.
We had a 30 minute wait to check in as our room was not available at 3pm. We were offered a room upgrade at an extra charge which we accepted. The upgrade was beautiful. the panoramic view was perfect, room was clean, spacious, bed was comfortable. The hotel is located in Zone 10 which is a safe zone of Guatemala city and everything within walking distance. The airport was about a 10 minute drive from us as well. I would definitely stay there again.
Friendly, helpful staff. Very welcoming and great communication before our stay. Excellent location - so handy to the airport and an easy walk to the airport. Great for early morning or late night flights. Room was very comfortable and quiet. Filtered water available in reception. The team organised transfers for us to Antigua Guatemala and also stored our bags when we went away for a few days to Flores.
Amazing little hotel in Guatemala City. We were surprised how quit the place was for being in the middle of this big city. The bed was small but very comfortable, we slept really great. Unfortunately we had a very short stay here since we were leaving early morning back home but I would love to go back there and spend more time on my next trip.
The receptionist was also very friendly and accommodating.
Cindy is a great host. She assisted and supported my trip very well. She arranged an airport pickup, but unfortunately my ride had an issue during the pickup, then immediately she arranged an alternative ride to pick me up from airport. Beyond that, she also assisted me in site seeing Guatemala City as well and then arranged a transportation to my next destination, Antigua. She is so exceptional.
The hotel is tucked away inside a private neighbourhood, it’s safe and very quiet despite being in the city. It’s literally 3 minutes from the airport and the hotel provides a taxi for free. The hotel is very nice, the room was incredibly clean, beautiful and comfortable, i even had a terrace with flower pots . The staff was super friendly and helped me order some food delivery. I’ll be back
All the rooms are nice sized apartments with a nice kitchen area. Location is perfect, next to the best dining, shopping and bar area in Guat city. Beautiful hard wood floors and furnishings. Staff polite and helpful. I speak Spanish but i think they all spoke English. There is a balcony in the bedroom and dining area. There is a nice restaurant and the hotel is very quiet.
A middle-sized hotel in a quiet corner of Zona 10 in Guatemala City. The hotel is built in colonial style and the interior of the rooms is also kept in a colonial style, but the rooms are not as dark as other hotels of similar type. The hotel staff is exceptionally accommodating and fulfills even the most unusual requests. Overall, one of the best hotels in Guatemala City.
I needed a place to stay close to the airport for an early flight and didn’t want to get into the center of the city. This was the perfect place, at walking distance from the airport. The flat is well equipped, calm and clean, and the communication with the owner was smooth and easy. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a place close to Guatemala Airport!
Everything! I had an injured leg, causing me to use crutches. The staff was so wonderful and accommodating. My first morning at breakfast, someone quickly rushed over to hold my plate and to help me at the buffet.
The room was impeccable- beautiful and clean with stunning views, and overall, the hotel is in a lovely part of the city.
I liked the location. Close to restaurants and within walking distance to places like the Museos Popol Vuh and Ixchel although the city is not particularly pedestrian friendly. Christian, the front desk person was helpful and arranged a Uber to Antigua for me.
- Super helpful staff. Our luggage didn't arrive on our flight and they called the airport countless times. Staff is incredible!
- Breakfast terrace is very nice and food super good
- Location is great! Zona 10 is the place to stay in Guatemala City
This is a very upscale, well equipped apartment at a reasonable price, and a superb location for enjoying everything Guatemala City has to offer. Zone 4's excellent dining and shopping opportunities are right across the street.
The breakfast in the morning was a nice touch and the hostel is located 5min away from the airport so super convenient if you're flying in or out of Guatemala City but I wouldn't stay there for more than 1 night.
Communication with the host was fine. Of course I had to googletranslate not only my messages but also my host's messages. Location is good to see real Guatemala City, walking distance to the Culture Palace.
The staff was very nice, the facility was very clean. it was in a gated neighborhood. We felt very safe in the middle of Guatemala City. And it was so convenient to have a close to the airport.
Close to the airport and the Museum of Modern Art in Guatemala City. It's a wonderful place to stay; just like "going home to visit family!" I wouldn't stay anywhere else but here!
This is the dreamiest little Tiny Home-style apartment right in downtown Guatemala city! Walking distance to all landmarks, great staff, and totally adorable and functional space.
