The hot tub was the highlight for me as well as the fact that it was so close to the water and it was even easily accessible from the hotel parking lot. Felt private, comfortable and cozy. Super friendly and accommodating staff.

Location and the super helpfulness of Lisa - the receptionist. The room had a view of the bay and it was awesome.
Great location 10 minutes from the Blue lagoon. We stayed here on our first night in Iceland going straight from the airport to the Blue lagoon then checked in.
Not a lot here but there’s a pretty church here
Tip: don’t buy supplies in the airport shop - we stocked up & it cost us a fortune. There’s a Netto in Grindavík

Grindavik is a small, beautiful fishing village close to the Geldingadalur volcano (but not too close) and the Blue Lagoon. It has many excellent hiking opportunities and great restaurants. Grindavik is surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape. Whale-watching, fishing, mountaineering, very friendly people, safe environment, you name it, Grindavik has it all!

Great location for Meradalir.
Great location for Meradalir. Fabulous fish and chips at Papas - Grindavik is a fishing town, so all fish is fresh that morning. Lovely walking around the town. Very peaceful. Great for exploring south coast and peninsula. Only 25 mins from Keflavik.

We stopped for one night during our Iceland tour to visit the Blue Lagoon and Fagradalsfjall, the volcano that erupted in 2021 and is still smoldering several months later. Grindavik is a working fishing village with a few local restaurants, grocery store and pharmacy, so is a really good spot to stay for a day when touring Iceland. It is not touristy though so don’t expect lots of shops selling the usual.

This is a dock terminal terrible views, bad aspect for tourists, cabin super smaill no microwave, no waste basket in bathroom, nothing to sweep with, place is creepy, huge caping yard nezt to the property that makes it seem dangerous. Lonely area! For this price you can get a top notch place.

Grindavik is a lovely town with a huge fisherman history.
Grindavik is a lovely town with a huge fisherman history. It's super close to the Blue lagoon and volcano so, there are many options for hiking or relaxing. There's a grill place with a super nice man who told me a little about the history and life of Grindavik's people and he also sells awesome hotdogs. Wish I could've stayed longer but a huge storm came so I had to run away :)
Your all-in little cottage in Grindavik. It has everything you need for a pleasant stay, even complimentary Nespresso coffee and tea.
The living room space with the sofa is very pleasant and the cottages are very luminous.
We were allowed to enter earlier and found a spotless very clean cottage. Only a 10-15min drive to the famous Blue lagoon.
They are also very well insulated, no noise and agreable atmosphere even with strong wind and rain
It was quite nice to go into Grindavik after the midnight flight. The carless way to this guesthouse was fast and easy. The room itself was wery clean, equiped with towels, coffee, tea and with shared nice and clean bathroom and kitchen(looks new). All you need for one and even more nights, because from this place you can visit south, southeast of Iceland and Golden Circle as well. We used it as a starting point to travel arpund Iceland.
Check in process was clunky as no staff was present for assistance. There were no instructions as to check in process. No in-person assistance was available during our stay. The host did answer the phone readily when we called upon arrival. The room was large and well appointed. Accommodations were clean. Only one of the three beds was made up. Grindavik is a small town so location is not an issue.
Hotel staff lovely. Spa staff somewhat indifferent. Room was cozy, although mattress was a bit too big for the bed and curled over.. The breakfasts were excellent. Food at the Spa and Lava restaurant generally good enough. The green salad was a handful of lettuce, no dressing or any other salad accompaniments; the lamb was tender but bland. Bread was phenomenal.
A perfect stay in order to visit the Blue Lagoon and get up early to go to the airport which is only a short drive. A well equipped kitchen means you can buy some food from the supermarket just down the road and cook for yourself. Grindavik itself doesn’t have much else to offer! The owners allowed us to check in early and were very friendly.
Wow! What a great hotel and restaurant. My room was very deluxe, big and comfortable. I had the best dinner in the restaurant with a wonderful pink G&T and skyr brûlée. I wish I had more time to check out the spa. The free shuttle to the Blue Lagoon was much appreciated. The front desk staff and restaurant staff were exceptional.
Loved this house! The husband and wife are super nice and fun to chat with. Right next to a playground and a grocery store. Plenty of dining choices nearby, as well as the blue lagoon. The woodwork was done by the owner, who has a shop downstairs, and they even put some drinks and chocolates in the fridge.
Very clean hotel, surprisingly nice room, comfortable, clean, wonderful breakfast included in the price. The hotel was quiet and felt very safe. The staff was very helpful and informative. This hotel is very close to the Blue Lagoon (about a five minute drive) but not walking distance.
Everything.
This was our first hotel in Iceland and it was so, so, so good.
Staff were friendly and helpful, they had a free shuttle to the Blue Lagoon, huge and delicious breakfast, open fire in the evening, chess board and free waffles for afternoon tea....Brilliant.
A lovely little cottage very comfortable and functional with a nice view to Grindavík beach and harbour. Very clean and quiet. Self check in, very easy. I would stay again.
Comfortable, well heated, well positioned, lot of space. For a small problem in the bathroom they proposed us another studio. Grindavik is a nice city.
