Our first trip to Italy, and my wife and I enjoyed time through Tuscany to the Amalfi coast, and back to Rome. Praiano turned out the perfect spot for our stay. Just a short water taxi for a daytrip to Positano, and scenic winding drive the next day to a Lemoncello Tasting Tour nearby in the other direction. Staff were super nice and shared many useful tips and sites to see in Praiano and Rome! We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Smeraldo in Praiano. Wonderful family owned and operated hotel with beautiful views from the dining terrace and our room balcony! Only a few minutes walk to bus stop and mini market. Highly recommend Hotel Smeraldo!

Beautiful area (great views, hikes, and restaurants), but be aware that getting around can be difficult. The roads are narrow and chaotic, and parking can be hard to find. So, most people don't recommend driving. However, the public transportation along the coast is not great either. There are a few regular bus routes, but they run infrequently and are usually too full to allow everyone on, so you end up waiting a long time for an empty enough bus to arrive. Priano is very small, so it is less expensive than the other cities close by. The church and the local neighborhood around were enjoyable. The fine restaurants were very expensive, and the moderate priced restaurants were hit and miss.

We love Priania we have been there several times and it never disappoints. It’s a small town but everything you need is there the bus service to Positano and Amalfi is very handy. There's not a lot to do in Praiano itself but it's a great place to stay for day trips to Positano and Amalfi with frequent buses stopping in the village. It was good to be away from the crowds in the evenings and whilst small the choice and standard of restaurants was good

Praiano was definitely a highlight on our trip to Italy. Not only is the restaurant at the hotel amazing, but there were 5 other restaurants within walking distance. We enjoyed a water taxi to Positano for a day trip (which was great- but we were thrilled we made the decision to stay in Praiano over Positano). Had all the amenities described (AC, 2 full bedrooms, kitchen, balcony) and more (Sandra had fruits and water in the kitchen, left all the bathroom products for us). Sandra was also so resourceful and helpful whenever we needed it - helped us book a cab transfer, help arrange for a reservation, gave us directions and lots of recommendations… It was honestly one of the best apartment stays I have ever had in Europe!

You will be in the middle of the Amalfi Coast and be able to get in the bus that can take you to Amalfi and Ravello or to Positano. The breakfast was good in a terrace with a beautiful view. Great service from Armando and Roberto. Thank you to the rest of the staff they were awesome. A taxi driver was arranged from the airport. And the communication prior to my arrival was prompt.

More than what you need and the location was great for us. Local transportation or buses and taxes are readily available (buses much cheaper and take you all the way to Positano) and walking distance to local piazza, church, mini market, and restaurants. If you want to get to the Praiano center, it’s about a 20-25 min walk down/uphill but with a scooter or car, it’s like 5-10.

Additionally, the set of stairs leading to Marina di Praia beach are very close. We were able to walk from the property to the beach as well as many excellent restaurants in Praiano. The view from our room and from the terrace where breakfast was served was stunning.
