Buca Di Bacco, hotel in Positano

The Buca Di Bacco is set just above Positano's Marina Grande, framed by rocky hills and a sandy beach.

Excellent location right on the beach. Incredible views from the lounge and restaurant. The staff was extremely helpful - Rosita was incredible and aside from helping us with ferrys, trains, a day in Capri, dinner reservations etc. she became a friend. We will be coming back.

Panoramic sea views can be enjoyed from all guest rooms at Hotel Il Gabbiano. This family-run hotel is a 15-minute walk from the center of Positano and the beaches. It features free Wi-Fi throughout.

The property is beautiful. We stayed in the one bedroom apartment and loved the terrace with its own lemon tree. The view was incredible. One of our favorite things was having the breakfast delivered each morning and eating on the terrace. And the bed was comfortable. It was nice that you can order drinks delivered to your room or go up to the hotel lounge and order one and it has unbelievable views from there.

Overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, family-run Il Barilotto offers air-conditioned rooms with a terrace and sea views. Located 2.5 mi from Positano, it comes with free Wi-Fi.

Our stay at IL Barilotto was great, the customer service was amazing and felt very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was great every morning and the views were amazing as well. Not very far from central positano but has a quieter vibe that is good for less traffic and commotion. Very close to Praiano which has a very authentic feel compared to Positano. The shuttle is convenient for if you want to be in the mix more than not and it’s not too far from both Positano and Amalfi’s beaches. When we visit the Amalfi Coast again this is where we will rebook!

We had a fantastic suite. We received an upgrade to a one-bedroom suite with a spectacular view. Our friends were placed in a junior suite next to us, which allowed us to enjoy the experience of Positano together. The rooms, and especially the outside deck and balcony, were spacious and clean. The pool area was excellent, with friendly and personable staff. Great fitness room overlooking the ocean. It is truly situated in the best location in Positano. The shuttle service was worth the price of having to valet our car.

The beauty of the town is unreal, but it is built on steep hillsides which means that narrow roads and switch backs are not recommended for the unseasoned driver not used to such terrain. If you're not in shape when you get there, you will be by time you leave. There are many, many, many steps and paths around the town. It's very picturesque but also very demanding physically. Probably not the best town for the elderly or those with physical challenges. Taxi's are the best mode of transportation though there is a good local bus system however, busses only come by hourly, and because of the congrestion they are rarely on time.

The views of Positano are amazing . Everyone is really friendly and the food amazing . You need to be fit to get up and down the hills and steps. There were 3 really good restaurants very close to Florida residence and they were all good but our favourite was Saraceno D’oro had the most amazing pizza and lasagne and the staff were all really good

One of the most stunning places I've ever visited.

One of the most stunning places I've ever visited. Relatively unspoilt as it's difficult to reach and very expensive. Felt like an exclusive holiday location. Colourful buildings springing out of the hills, beautiful climate and STUNNING flora and fauna. All in all, one feels like one has been dropped into paradise on earth. Visiting in April is to be recommended as it feels neither too hot nor too crowded. I can't sing its praises enough. Travelling can be tricky if you have older people in your party - almost every route around the town involves steep steps. Spoilt for choice in terms of eating - we didn't have a bad meal. Shout out to Il Capitano (higher end) and Il Fornillo (slightly more reasonably priced). Recommend day trips to Pompeii and Vesuvius, the Amalfi coast (from Positano to Maiori), boat trip to Capri and Anacapri, and Sorrento.

Positano is absolutely amazing, but be ready to walk a lot...

Positano is absolutely amazing, but be ready to walk a lot of stairs, on very very steep trails. Respectfully, this place is not ideal for unfit people. Depending if you’re staying close the beach or on the upper side of the city, you will either have to take the stairs with your luggage or get a taxi, which is not cheap there. There are a lot of good restaurants to choose from, and also very affordable, even though the city is rated to be quite expensive. The beach is relatively small, so don’t expect to find a spot to lay down on the sand if you’re travelling during the summer season. As we visited in march, the weather was 10-18 degrees Celsius, which was prefect, also we avoided the crowds and the Mediterranean summer heat of June-August.

The Amalfi Coast is a beautiful destination to visit in...

The Amalfi Coast is a beautiful destination to visit in Italy. Originally, when booking this location, I thought the area was sold out-it was hard to find accommodations. But once we arrived we learned that the entire Amalfi Coast pretty much goes silent from November to late March. The area has limited restaurants open as well as hotels. So we were lucky we found a home in which to stay. Use the bus SITA to buy a trip to Amalfi to spend 4-5 hours. Well worth the 3euro cost. Other locations available too on this bus line. Sorrento can be visited as well using the public transportation. The winding roads leading from Sorrento to Positano and then to Amalfi will leave you spell bound. Sharp drops, scenic ocean views and the lovely speckle of homes up and down these cliffs is just breath taking. Highly recommend a visit to the area.

The breakfast was wonderful and there were plenty of options to eat. There is a nice view of the ocean. The staff and owners of the property were very friendly and were very nice to my husband while we were away at our hike. The room had all the basic needs. There is only 1 road going in an out of Positano and in areas only goes one way. If you have walking issues you are best to stay at one of the hotels on the main road. My husband found it very difficult because of all the step and this hotel is not on the major road.

Incredible location for a reasonable price. Right on the beach and in the heart of Positano. The hotel is minimally staffed and does not have a front desk, which was no problem for us at all but I guess could be for others. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and had a magnificent view of the water with a small balcony. A/C worked great. Stay here if you want to be in the heart of things and don't expect to need extensive concierge services. Don't stay here if you want a lot of assistance with your trip.

Beautiful property, comfortable room, wonderful balcony overlooking the sea. This was one of our favorite hotels on our trip to Italy. The breakfast delivered to our room to enjoy on the balcony each morning was a highlight. Steps down to Arienzo beach club made it so convenient to spend time on the beach. Outside of the main busy area of Positano while still possible to walk down to restaurants and shops. Christian was very attentive and helped with anything we needed. Not enough good can be said about this hotel. It is a five star experience from start to finish. From the knowledgeable staff to the unbelievable accommodations (view/cleanliness/fresh flowers in the room/breakfast/overall beauty), this hotel will be hard to beat. My wife and I remarked that no hotel we have stayed in on any continent (particularly the ones labeled as "5 stars") were as nice as what we experienced here. We were treated like a king and queen. Casa Nilde is an unexpected little gem in Positano run by the most fantastic hosts, Francesco and Luigi. Not only is it tucked away in the best part of Positano (close to everything without having to walk hours to get to it), but you feel like family when you stay there. great location with beautiful views. it is relative high on the hill but very close to bus station. you need to hike down to beach via stairs or on the only one way road. Go stairs will be quicker and prettier while the road has more shops but noisy and lot of cars. 5-10 min walk to nearby restaurants since the hotel does not have its own restaurant. if you have limited time in the area, Positano is the best place to be and this property should be on your list

The sea view from the balcony was lovely. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast terrace was also gorgeous with an interesting selection of items. Best though was the enormous cappuccino. The hotel is about an hour brisk walk to/from Positano so it is less touristy and quieter - although vehicle traffic was a little noisy. There is a beach that is much less busy than the positano beach but it is a trek with stairs to get to/from.

Everything was amazing! Started from hotel location, view , quick check-inn, staff and of course number! We wanted to stay in this charming place more , but couldn’t, we had reservation in another hotel that we couldn’t cancel. I recommended this hotel to everyone . It is the best in Positano!

Ocean view from the balcony. Hotel room renovated. Everything new and modern. Near good restaurants and the beach. As Positano is located in a mountain, you will have to climb a stair to return from the beach. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel that take you to main beach

The view from the balcony was spectracular. Maybe the best view in Positano. The reception personel was top. The hotel is just 10 minutes walk from the shops and the beach.
