We went to Lido Beach instead of Murano Island. the nearest station to our apartment is Accademia . This route ( Lido to Accademia, B line 1 route) gave us a full tour of Venice from the Adriatic Sea to its port and in to the Grand Canal seeing the whole of Venice from the water , the day pass €25 /pp is all worth it .

Beautiful for a couple of days to see the main attractions. A very baautiful city which is let down by poor tourist information and for getting around by ferry which is essential. My advice- hop on a ferry and follow the tourists. Bought 48 hour ferry pass(€35 each ) which got plenty of use. Never used water taxi’s.

All sights were inundated with tourists to the point that it was almost impossible to take a photograph without people crossing in front of the camera. One restaurant's waiter told us that his tip could not be put on the credit card I paid with and he wanted cash??? I have never had a server ask for a tip, let alone an under the table tip. His service was odd and forgetful too.

Great boat trip to Murano, Burano and Torcello. Loved the Gondala ride although 90 Euros for 30 minutes is pricey. It’s busy in the streets, we met a couple who had been pick pocketed so be mindful. Also expect lots of annoying posers staging photo shoots for their social media.

Venice is a beautiful city with a rich history, amazing sites to see, restaurants, affordable shopping and options for trips and tours. However, if you travel to Venice, make sure you do not have too many heavy bags. Depending on where you stay, you will have to walk a lot to get to your hotel. Since there is no public transportation in the city, you have to walk everywhere...... In addition, many hotels/apartments do not have elevators and thus Venice may be difficult to navigate for people with mobility issues.

We loved the hotel - situated extremely close to the centre St Marks square , had a nice atmosphere with stylish furnishings. Our room was elegant and comfortable (though the water was not hot enough to take a shower in the morning or evening- this is the only reason why I rated the place very good instead of exceptional). The breakfast was exceptional - coffee, a wide choice of baked goods, delightful pastries, savoury food etc. We travelled a lot in Italy and I would rate the breakfast as one of the best we have experienced in Italy so far.

Clean, comfortable, very friendly staff around 24/7, and our favourite stay of our whole trip around Italy. This hotel is in a quiet part of Venice, but not far away from the Grand Canal and other touristy spots in Venice. Our room overlooked the canal and the staff really looked after us! The bed was super comfy and the shower was wonderful - it was perfect for our few days stay in Venice. I also liked the fact the hotel staff would hold onto your room keys while you were out, which removed the stress of possibly losing them.

He gave us recommendations on where to go, what to stay away from, and helped us with the train schedule so we could make it to our next stop safely. The room was very clean and the view was just what I was hoping for! It is about a 2 minute walk to the train station and only minutes to major landmarks and points of interest. This was our first time to Venice (and Italy for that matter!). Jennifer was so helpful; she answered all of our questions and gave us some good tips of places to visit (e.g., Murano Island). The location of the hotel is very nice as it is off the main touristy area yet still on the water with amazing views. Jennifer and Claudio were so sweet as they let us drop our bags off before check-in and they took them up to our room! A very nice treat for weary travelers. :) All in all, a wonderful place to stay in Venice!

If you stay in Venice during a heat wave, there is nothing better than an island with a 12th century monastery on it surrounded by a huge park with a nice pool inside it.
