The worst part of the hotel is the fact that we're made to wait at the check-in reception desk for full prepayment of the room rental and in local currency and offered the worst currency conversion rate in Colombo, worse than that at the airport. On checking in, we had to ask repeatedly for the toiletries. The keys started malfunctioning the very next day.
The best part is the location and cleanliness. The staff behaviour was not up to the mark but acceptable

Two days was plenty in Colombo to explore the city.
Two days was plenty in Colombo to explore the city. Use the pick me app to get value for money with the tuk tuks as they do try to over charge by a lot. Thoroughly recommend Pettah Market, just to experience the bustle and noise of a true, working market and for the street food. It is easy to walk around - and near to there, the Old Town Hall is a lovely building and the iconic mosque has two sides to view. The Lotus Tower is worth going up for extraordinary views of the city and don't miss out on the independence memorial! The Gangaramaya Temple is amazing and well worth stopping for, but the less visited Seema Malaja temple, just around the corner, jutting out onto the lake is very peaceful. Try Seed cafe or Milk and Honey cafe for great juices and coffee.

It helps if you know what you’re looking for definitely.
I came specifically for the Colombo-Ella train ride, the mountains and the local culture and food…
The train ride n the mountains was absolutely worth it. And the locals were sweet. However, I was quite disappointed by food. Everywhere you go, there’s fried rice! Fried rice plus this, fried rice plus eggs, fried rice and that… You had to particularly ask for Sri Lankan food or the local curry. I went to a somewhat upmarket restaurant in Ella, ordered a simple vegetable and meat curry. It came out fried rice topped with two fried eggs :(

Improvements - in the restaurant area, coffee and tea making facilities to be a bit more secure and spacious. To cater more for western tastes as opposed to locals - ie more cereals and yogurts. At time a bit too tight for numbers.
Pay more attention to health and safety around the tea/coffee area. Milk gets very hot, better signs to indicate this.
When floors are being mopped, to use wet floor sign so people are aware.

The location was very good as it was surrounded with other hotels, restaurants, pubs and entertainment. There was easy access to all the areas in Colombo city like visiting Lotus tower, One Galle Mall, beach area, Colombo Fort, all within the reach of 30 mins. Easy access with , cars, tuk-tuk, etc. The hotel staff were very polite and friendly. The room was very clean and what we liked the most was the room and bathroom size. Both were huge and very spacious. View from the hotel was very good of the city.
Fantástic stay here, location is absolutely perfect - right on the beach and well positioned to see and do everything you would want to do in Hikkaduwa. Airport transfers were handled perfectly, and staff are really nice guys, and were extremely accomodating with any requests I had.
Rooms were large, clean, comfortable and very quiet at night. The hotel bar/dining area is right on the sea, with lovely views morning and night. I totally recommend this hotel for your stay! Thanks again Indika!
I had a very good stay in this hostel. It was my first time to go to a hostel. My roommates were very kind. The owner of the hostel is a very kind woman. When I told her that I am allergic to Sri Lankan food, she prepared lunch for me for free and gave me a gift. He arranged a taxi for me to go back to the airport. The location of the hostel is excellent and I could walk to all parts of Colombo. If I come back to Colombo again, I will definitely choose this place.
We chose a room - Standard Double Sea View. The overall impression is beautiful and the location is good. The best part of the hotel is definitely the rooftop pool, which offers a good view to city and ocean, when the weather is nice. The rooftop bar is very cozy and you can enjoy the evening with city view. The breakfast was overpriced for Sri Lanka, but good and there was plenty of choice.
In conclusion, decent and quite nice place to stay for one night.
the hotel is centrally located in Colombo there is a small mall attached with a keells grocery and Delma tea, not to forget that the hotel has 10 restaurants of various cuisine so you are spoilt for choices really. the staff is very attentive from the valet to concierge to reception to even housekeeping and ground staff. even though it was a business trip for me, I highly recommend this place before you move ahead with your journey of touring Colombo.
We visited Colombo for the last two nights of our journey to Sri Lanka and C1 was a good choice in the midrange sector. It is a mix of hotel and hostel, located in a quiet side street of the historic fort area. Location is excellent, all sights of fort are close by and it’s just a short walk to the main railway station and the very busy Pettah business district. Our hotel room was spacious, staff was friendly, we did not have breakfast at the hotel.
The room service menu food is EXCEPTIONAL and is very very very tasty and extremely reasonable. Better than a 5 star hotel’s room service food!! 👍 (as I have being to many, in Sri Lanka and abroad)
The location, the staff and all amenities were EXCELLENT. It was such a comfortable stay.
The room was exceptionally sound proof and was very very clean and consisted of all the required amenities.
Newly redesigned ,
Everything was great ,perfect staff and very attending ,good food and shisha was great
Mithma was great host ,explained everything to us about facilities of the hotel and helped with any question we had
Raj is best bell boy here ,very friendly and attentive .
Dinendra made us a lot of ice coffees ,best in Sri Lanka .
10/10 experience would definatly visit again
Thank you
The Room was very cosy and well decorated. From our window, we could see a nice garden. Even though you are in the center of Colombo, It is very peaceful and relaxing.
The sri lankan homemade breakfast is delicious!
i highly recommand it.
Rajeev and his wife were very hospitable and lovely. They do their Best to make you feel at home and they are very helpful !
Breakfast was excellent, much better than the last time I stayed at this hotel. The room was quiet and felt like I was surrounded by nature. The host was pleasant and helpful in organizing transportation and meals. I always look forward to staying here when I'm in Colombo.
It felt like a respite in the middle of a bustling city!
This place is an oasis in Colombo. We just had one overnight after our arrival at Colombo airport. It’s about 45min from the airport (wo. traffic jam). The interieur and garden area of the boutique hotel is really nice. The staff was very friendly and supportive. The Sri Lankan breakfast is a recommendation.
I was at Colombo just to spend the night after the flight and start our trip early in the morning. we needed something close to MoC as we planned to have dinner there. The hotel is 2 mins walk to MoC and other restaurants options at the dutch hospital.
over all it was clean. Wifi was working fine.
- spotless room with A/C and clean bathroom
- good location on busy Galle Rd (close by to the bakery Green Cabin for good snacks and Pilawoos for dinner)
- a little expensive for Sri Lanka in generell, but good value for Colombo
- arranged airport taxi perfectly on time
Hilton Colombo provided a good experience. The breakfast buffet was good and included both Sri Lankan delicacies and English breakfast items. The location of the hotel is very good and most places inside Colombo are accessible through a robust bus transport system.
I loved it here!!!! After walking through the crazy loud streets of Colombo, this hotel felt like a spa. It is so calm in their garden and the yoga class I had at the hotel really was the best. Definitely coming back back before I head to the airport.
The hotel is brand new- everything is clean. Location is very good. The rooms have big glass windows and the reception area at 10th floor is all with glass where you can have an aerial view of Colombo and the beautiful Indian Ocean.
- great pool and garden
- very helpful staff
- fair price in hotel restaurant compare to outside
- order food to room
- best a/c at Sri Lanka
- supermarket and all what you need is in that same building
- comfortable bedroom
The hotel is located in a central area.
It is good for short stay like we did after we reached in Colombo then to run away from there.
Staff is kind, like everywhere in Sri Lanka.
