We spent two nights at Cafe Aroma Inn -- one night at the start and one night at the end of our trip. We decided to split up our journey from Trinco to Colombo by spending an extra night in Kandy and we enjoyed our time at Cafe Aroma before so we booked it again! It's in a great location - really easy to find, close to the bus/train station. Decent breakfast, close to the temple of the tooth and shops and restaurants. Clean and comfortable. Definitely would stay again.

Kandy is known as a cultural hub full of hospitable people. Viyana was what I would call a true Kandyan experience. The hotel itself is located right beside the Kandy lake. Its a breathtaking view to sit outside and have a drink while the sun is setting. Throughout my stay the staff was very helpful always checking up to ensure that I'm having a comfortable stay. The room was cozy and had a good set of amenities. The bed was a relief after a full day of traveling. The food is exceptional so flavorful. I especially loved their waffle range of sweet and savory waffles which I didn't see anywhere except here. It was fantastic. Waffles blended with a Lankan savory touch. It certainly was a memorable stay. Definitely hoping to visit again soon.

We stayed at this hidden gem with our family of 4 during a rainy period. The hotel and garden are beautiful and clean. The view is amazing. It’s located outside of the city, which we really liked because it was peaceful.
The personnel of this hotel were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, more than enough food. We had dinner once in the restaurant and recommend to try the Sri Lanka curry.
My oldest son, my husband and I had a very relaxing afternoon getting a spa treatment very good with reasonable price. This place is definitely worth a visit.

Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden (take the electric car) 6. late Lunch at Royal Mall Peradeniya 7, Strait to your Hotel check in 8. around 4.00 pm You may visit Sandagiri seya (Sthupa at the top of a mountain) 9. Then the Famous Temple of tooth relic (Before 8.00 pm) 10. Dinner at KCC 11, Back to Hotel. Day 02 on your way to Colombo. 12. A cultural eye-opener.
A cultural eye-opener. Lots to see and do - but most major attractions are spread far from one another. Expect to take a couple full days touring Kandy and the surrounding areas. Two of my strongest recommendations: the British Was Cemetery. The caretaker has tended the graveyard for decades and knows each detail about each soul laid to rest. Also a sight worth seeing is Peradeniya University. A remarkable campus that lives up to its reputation as one of the nicest in all of South Asia.

The botanical gardens was amazing and really value to visit.
The botanical gardens was amazing and really value to visit. I didn't interested to see the famous temple and another one important thing is in commuting hours the traffic jam was remarkable and every one should calculate staying in the traffic in their schedule .

Transit point to big attractions in Sri Lanka. Ie.
Transit point to big attractions in Sri Lanka. Ie. Ella, Sigriya, Dambulla and Polonaruwa. Gateway to mountainous region of Sri Lanka. Kandy is also a historical town with famous Temple of Tooth. This town is best served with affordable eateries and several modes of transportation. Cooler weather compared to the Sri Lankan capital city, Colombo.
Well-located for all the attractions chaotic Kandy has to offer, Sevana City Hotel is nice and clean. We were upgraded and our room was very large for two people with ample storage space and two big sinks in the shower room. Shower was the best we’ve had so far in the country. Beds were comfy. We tried the continental breakfast and the Sri Lankan string hoppers the next day and portion size was good. The pool on the rooftop is small but great for views across the city. Wifi connection was good too.
Rivora Heights is Exceptional. The best hotel I’ve ever been privileged enough to stay at. Gorgeous building, and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk in. High quality rooms and high quality service. The hotel has the best room’s in Sri Lanka. The Restaurant Timber Cabin is the most authentic fine dining restaurant in Kandy. the food was delicious and presented in beautiful way. Also The Plunge Pool is the best and relaxing. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Kandy.
Loved my stay here! All the staff is so friendly and wanting to help. They had good tips for my stay in Kandy, but also for the rest of my stay in Sri Lanka. The hotel is very clean and since it's a new hotel, everything still looks good. I had an upgrade to a private room, but the dorm looked fine as well. Also the location is great, within 15 minutes you're at the temple of tooth which is next to the city centre. Would like to thank the amazing staff to make my stay the best!
Want to hear the birds singing in the morning yet sleep only 500 meters from the city centre? Mirabe Funk Bunks is located up the mountain slope just before the forest takes over. So peaceful and quiet is the essence of this place. Anuradha runs his hotel with typical Sri Lankan cleanliness and tasty food. We stayed 3 nights in the private rooms with balcony. great place to just chill and listen to the wind. FYI…budget hostel rooms available as well. Wifi was good enough.
The hotel is amazing, rooms are spacious and very beautifully decorated. The view on the mountains from the terrace is breathtaking.
Rooms are clean, cosy and comfortable.
Very friendly and professional staff. We had tasty Sri Lankan breakfast with variety of dishes prepared specially for us.
Hotel is hidden up in the mountains, if you enjoy walking, in around 40 min.it is possible to walk down to the town, observing the area around, or you can take a tuk-tuk.
Kaya Residence is a charming hotel, just outside the hustle and bustle of Kandy. Even though it took us only 10 min to walk to town, the hotel felt really peaceful and secluded… the staff were so attentive, they really went the extra mile to make us feel special. We had 3 rooms - all were spacious and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was fantastic! We ordered Uber Eats one day and lounged by the pool… highly recommended and hope to go back!
Beauty hills was very aptly named - the best view in our time in Sri Lanka. Our host Sanjeewa was caring and accommodating, helping us book tuktuks when needed and offering breakfast too. He should be very proud of this home as it was an ideal stay in a busy town like Kandy, nice and quiet :) our room was comfortable and the bathroom was very well equipped.
The owner was friendly and helpful. He offered to order food from town for us and paid with his card to make it easier. He also got us tuk tuks for our city tour and we ended up with the best drivers ever! We had a mix up with the rooms but that was solved quickly too. The villa is in a quiet area of Kandy and you can watch wildlife from the balcony.
This place has lots of character, the inner yard is beautiful and peaceful. Little oasis in the hustle and bustle of Kandy town.
Super friendly staff! We really enjoyed breakfast at the hotel restaurant and definitely recommend dinner at the traditional sri lankan restaurant downstairs for those who are more adventurous for some local "spicy" food.
First of all the best food we had in Sri Lanka, Alexandra is really an amazing chef. Both Alexandra and Michael were incredible hosts and very helpful. They have a beautiful house very well looked after. The location is great, close enough to Kandy center but outside enough to have the quiet. Great pool, good rooms. Absolutely recommend this stay!
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at your hotel. The balcony area was perfect for spending time with friends, offering a stunning view. The staff's friendly and communicative approach made the experience even better. Additionally, the central location in Kandy town made getting around hassle-free.
Better than the photos..very traditional hotel room at world standard..clean, comfortable, tv, tea coffee, fridge..great pool..you forget you are in Sri Lanka! The staff were just lovely. Stayed here as it's close to the Botanic Gardens not a tourist area real food, real life, real Kandy!
- Spectacular location. Probably one of the best panoramic view in Kandy
- Interior design of property is exceptional
- Owner and staff are so helpful and so attentive about every stage.
Suggestion - Arranging a tuk tuk /Taxi via property would be much convenient to reach the hotel.
Excellent hotel! All new and the view is fantastic, it overlooks the lake and Kandy town but is a very quick 10mins walk into town. The rooms are super comfortable and the pool is great! We stayed four nights and the breakfast is amazing. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.
The food and rooms at this hotel are wonderful. We relaxed by the pool, enjoyed dinner and drinks, and ate breakfast among the flowers each morning on the lovely grounds. The staff helped arrange massages and a day trip to the botanical gardens and downtown Kandy.
Very nice and new hotel with one of the best views in Sri Lanka. We liked particularly the kindness of its staff, the infinity pool and the balcony in the room. The breakfast was also great and varied! I would definitely stay there again if I come to Kandy.
Everything. From the staff behaviour to location of the hotel to the rooms, everything was perfect. Special mentions to the Manager Mr. Tilak and Ruwan who helped, guided and served us with anything that we needed. Best place to stay in Kandy!
Amazing luxurious hotel, in the heart of Kandy. Wonderful staff. First hotel we stayed in that has an elevator. Good food, quick service, very clean and comfortable. Best place we stayed in Sri Lanka with a wonderful view from the balcony
Very comfortable, clean and well located as it is walking distance from downtown Kandy. Lovely breakfast and the best hospitality from Selyna. A great place to stay and a very cute dog
