We stayed at this hidden gem with our family of 4 during a rainy period. The hotel and garden are beautiful and clean. The view is amazing. It’s located outside of the city, which we really liked because it was peaceful.
The personnel of this hotel were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, more than enough food. We had dinner once in the restaurant and recommend to try the Sri Lanka curry.
My oldest son, my husband and I had a very relaxing afternoon getting a spa treatment very good with reasonable price. This place is definitely worth a visit.

If you are traveling from Colombo and back 2for one night stay in Kandy the plan should be 1. Breakfast at Ginadasa Thalaguli restaurant 2. Visit Gadaladeniya Temple 3. Lankathilaka Temple 4. Embakka Devalaya (Temple) 5. Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden (take the electric car) 6. late Lunch at Royal Mall Peradeniya 7, Strait to your Hotel check in 8. around 4.00 pm You may visit Sandagiri seya (Sthupa at the top of a mountain) 9. Then the Famous Temple of tooth relic (Before 8.00 pm) 10. Dinner at KCC 11, Back to Hotel. Day 02 on your way to Colombo. 12. Pinnawala Elephant orphanage (Elephant bath at 2.00 pm) 14. Lunch at Pinnawala 15. Pinnawala zoo (I didn't go) 16. Back to Colombo.

A cultural eye-opener.
A cultural eye-opener. Lots to see and do - but most major attractions are spread far from one another. Expect to take a couple full days touring Kandy and the surrounding areas. Two of my strongest recommendations: the British Was Cemetery. The caretaker has tended the graveyard for decades and knows each detail about each soul laid to rest. Also a sight worth seeing is Peradeniya University. A remarkable campus that lives up to its reputation as one of the nicest in all of South Asia.

The botanical gardens was amazing and really value to visit. I didn't interested to see the famous temple and another one important thing is in commuting hours the traffic jam was remarkable and every one should calculate staying in the traffic in their schedule .

Transit point to big attractions in Sri Lanka. Ie.
Transit point to big attractions in Sri Lanka. Ie. Ella, Sigriya, Dambulla and Polonaruwa. Gateway to mountainous region of Sri Lanka. Kandy is also a historical town with famous Temple of Tooth. This town is best served with affordable eateries and several modes of transportation. Cooler weather compared to the Sri Lankan capital city, Colombo.
This is our second visit to this place , one of best budget hotel in kandy, with affordable price , you can get all the basic facilities that you need, this room has TV, Mini Fridge , Electric kettle (last time they provide tea coffee makers also, but this time they inform its finished) , Hot water , and above all a nice view. Friendly staff.. rooms are quite and comfortable, Clean..
Location is little bit far from city in hill location. Still worthy to come here for relaxing with this view ..
Definitely recommended .... 👌
Excellent heritage property, bang in the middle of old town Kandy with all sights within walking distance. A lot of restaurants around, covering most cuisines. The hotel is in the middle of town so you get the local feel and ye the rooms are placed at the back to avoid most noise. The property has an excellent bar...duh in the name also with a perfect setting in an internal courtyard. Breakfast has several optional items to order - my cheese omlette and bacon was perfecctt ! All in all, a great place to enjoy Kandy
My wife and me spent 9 days at the Kandy Unique Hotel: we walked in the mountains, through tea plantations, and visited temples. We used to have 1 hour walks to the city center and returned to the hotel by tuk-tuk. The mountain view from the hotel terrace is magnificent, especially at sunset. Very friendly staff. Many thanks to Vishwa for delicious breakfasts and dinners. We had dinner 7 times and every time it was something new! Our opinion of Sri Lankan cuisine has grown even more
The location was good only 1.9km from railway station but because ti is new, no-one knew where the hotel was, TukTuk driver eventually found it as his grandmother lives in the area. You cannot walk to anywhere you need transport to get down into the town.
Breakfast was ok but very expensive for what it was. $15pp. During our time travelling around Sri Lanka, we never paid much more than 1200 SLR (£3).
Located in the hills of Kandy - set away from the busy town centre, it was the perfect place to relax after a day exploring. The staff could not have been more helpful - from letting us check in early, arranging tuk tuks, giving advise on the area and cooking incredible breakfasts and dinners. We were so grateful for such a fantastic start to our Sri Lanka adventure. Thankyou Summit!
This hotel is very close to the Temple and the lake and right in Kandy.
All the double rooms were very clean and we had a nice balcony room.
The reception staff and breakfast staff were excellent. Very helpful and friendly.
The top floor bar was excellent, air conditioned and two balconies.
Breakfast was buffet style with some traditional Sri Lankan food.
The place is amazing, rooms are spacious and very beautifully decorated. The view on the mountains from the terrace is breathtaking.
Rooms are clean, cosy and comfortable.
Very friendly and professional staff. We had a tasty Sri Lankan breakfast. It is nice to have a walk to the down town observing the area around and the lake.....
best place we have stayed in Sri Lanka, clean and new furnitured rooms, great breakfast, good location, 5 minutes to the botanic garden. Hotel is located on a small hill, so it is quite calm from hustle and bustle of the city. And the best one - is the owner Fabian, very helpful and supportive person. Definitely recommend to stay
Our best stay in Sri Lanka by far. Rooms felt like a very high end hotel, mattress extra comfortable, AC, good hot water, and a generator which is key nowadays in Sri Lanka with power outages. We loved the location, out from the hustle of the city but still very close. Great value for money, I highly recommend.
What a magical place. The best hotel we stayed in Sri Lanka so far. The views and the infinity pool are on point.
Special thanks to Isuru, who guide us in a short hike inside the property and explained to us about the different herbs and the uses for each and showed us pretty nice viewpoints in the area.
A great hotel - most of the early teething issues after opening appear to be ironed out now (they now have alcohol license etc) and we had a fantastic stay. The 5 min stroll down the hill to the centre of Kandy is a particular bonus given a lot of the hotels in the area are outside the town centre itself
Great hotel, huge beds which are very clean and comfortable, great shower and bathroom. staff is very hepful and friendly especially in the resturant. would stay again in Kandy. it looks like the pictures and is in a great location. Possibly the best hotel for the price that we stayed at in Sri Lanka!
Great central location in a peaceful area near the lake. 15 minutes walk from the temple. Clean room, comfortable bed, cold air-conditioning, English TV channels, ok wifi, shower has good water pressure and plenty of hot water. I've stayed in three different hotels in Kandy, and this is my favorite.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at your hotel. The balcony area was perfect for spending time with friends, offering a stunning view. The staff's friendly and communicative approach made the experience even better. Additionally, the central location in Kandy town made getting around hassle-free.
- Spectacular location. Probably one of the best panoramic view in Kandy
- Interior design of property is exceptional
- Owner and staff are so helpful and so attentive about every stage.
Suggestion - Arranging a tuk tuk /Taxi via property would be much convenient to reach the hotel.
I love the location. The area is safe for a solo woman traveller. The staff is also friendly. I would highly suggest this hotel as this is close to Kandy train track. And the people in the city are mostly kind enough to help. And they mostly leave you alone.
For the price paid, there is nothing to complain. I've paid similar prices and had far worse hotels in Sri Lanka. This hotel is basic, but I does everything properly. The two gentlemen working below clearly want to do the best for their guests.
