Great place, we got a lovely room with a jacuzzi, the spa was top of the line and affordable. The hotel building was beautifully designed to reflect Mexican traditional architecture, while the rooms were very modern and spacious.
Great place, close to everything. Loved the location. Stayed there for 6 days.
The place is Beautifull, the food was excellent, the staff was very kind, and it was very clean at a reasonable price.
The jacuzi wasnt working.
The hotel is not the newest (as you can see from outside the building and things like non flat-screen TV etc), but it is clean and nice. The location is in a private condominium called Pakal in a semi-private condominium called Playacar (Fase 2). If you have a car it is a perfect location, as you are not based in the noisy centre, but right next to the golf course and an artificial small lake, surrounded by lots of trees. If you have a car it is very nice here. We had a car and knew where it is. You need a car or rent a bicycle to get to the beach or to city centre (or taxi). We rented an apartment in the hotel with kitchen. The kitchen was big and clean and everything worked. Only thing is, there is only the real minimum of kitchen utilities & Plates/cups etc, making you miss somethings if you really want to cook meals like dinners. The service is okay, they react very fast and accordingly. Cleaning service a well is perfect. The pool outside has a suboptimal construction, as 50% of the pool size is not usable for swimming as it is very shallow. At the other hand you cannot let children swim on their own, as the shallow parts on both sides directly continue into the deep pool. Therefore the shallow part is not really usuable for children, and the deep part is only 50%, making it small if loads of guests. But the main street (carretera federal) is very close, where you can stop and ride in a collectivo (mini bus) for some dollars to nice nearb beaches (beach clubs such as Punta Venado, Xpu Ha, Akumal, Tulum etc.). Just go to the street and stop them on the driving direction side. All in all a good hotel with good service. Just in general kitchen is not too well equipped, the pool does not make too much sense and you can see it is not new in things as old TV's. But still a special place where you get an apartment instead of only a room for a good value. Recommendable!
Best Staff, very helpful in any request! In case you are completely not ready to walk this is not for you. Everything else is terrific.
Rooms and grounds are very nice. Good free breakfast.
No place to eat on the property after 5pm.
Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful.
VERY hard beds.
Staff were lovely and helpful. We got a fantastic deal on booking.com and had the best suite in the house for a very good price! We had a house to ourselves on the roof with a private wrap-around terrace and jacuzzi. It was simply stunning! We were also given a free bottle of fizzy red wine on arrival which was a very nice touch. Breakfast was nice. Location is lovely if you want peace and quiet. Use of the gym and spa was lovely and service was friendly which is always great. Thank you!
Nothing... although those who do not like to walk will have to get a taxi or 15 minute walk to anything lively. This was fine for us.
- The staff is very polite and helpful. - This hotel has a authentic style and well designed. - The place is very quite. - Parking available.
- The room is barely lighted. - The pool is very small. - Rather far from the sea. - Our room had only 1 small window to the lobby.
Nice place away from the hustle and noise of the downtown. Great value! We stayed in the superior suite and it was a lot nicer than it looked in the pictures and a great price considering the value.
There is No dinner resturant on the property. A 5 minute walk to the closes resturant within the gated community or a 5 minute, 70 peso cab ride into town.
The suite was nice and the couples massage was incredible
The scorpion we found next to our bed and removed placed back to the wild (reported to front desk and was told they wood fumigate) The sliding door deficiency and poor condition of the wood safety rail off living room patio has potential for failure and for injury or death from fall
This is my favorite hotel! The staff & facilities are amazing!!
The spa, food and room was really nice! Staff was friendly and helpful.
If you're willing to spend some time at the pool you realize it can feel quite small if there are several other guests are around. (Limited space around the pool). Could provide bike rent for a better price.
Location besides golf course
Breakfast was outside, it´s OK but not the birds eating my breakfast.
The staff politeness and attention, the breakfast by the pool.
Beautiful facility. We'll maintained. Staff was very helpful.
The hotel staff were very friendly The suites were large The location on the golf course was great for wildlife and we saw mongoose, large guinea pigs, colourful birds and turtles/terrapins
The hotel has no bar or mini bars in rooms so no choice of drinks after 3pm unless beer and water. Our suite was large but had no additional furniture or appliances like plants, lamps or flowers - we didn't even have a kettle and had to boil water with a pan on the stove. We had no table or outdoor chairs for the terrace and the sun lounger was broken. This is not a 5* hotel
Beautiful room and lovely spa (jacuzzi, sauna) for guests use. Friendly staff, good breakfast was a little bit different every morning
This hotel is a rebuilt old Mexican castle, or so it seems at least. The atmosphear and architecture is nice. The hotel is up to a four star standard on average, with some aspects being above and some below. The spa is nice. The suites were very spacious and luxurious. I was upgraded to a suite from a standard room and hence got exellent value for money. I would not have been that satisfied if I had got a standard room though. It is a twenty minute walk to town and a bit firther to the best restaurant etc. The same goes for beach, which is more of an issue. It is located in a tranquil place and serves as a good get away.
breakfast was not good and probably below 3 star standard. The staff were not very helpful and seem to think a smile can replace getting things done. I tried to book a massage at the spa two days in a row but on both occassions was informed that the therapist couldn't make it.
Very spacious and quiet rooms with very comfortable beds
Was a reasonable distance from the centre of town
Nice reception staff (especially Mario), big room with kitchen, unbeatable price.
Easy sliding stony floor, far from the beach (unreal on foot), old sofa in the living room.
The hotel is beatiful. An unforgettable vacation.
