United StatesThe room was clean and large with a nice balcony. The location is ideal if you want to be close to the beach, Playa 88 and Playa Punta Esmeralda. The area is lacking a bit for restaurant choices and stores for supplies (beer isn't sold in this area). The staff are all kind and very accommodating. The restaurant that is connected to the hotel can be slow, so we avoided it after our first experience. Although this seemed to be dependent on the employee who was working (short hair girl=super slow). Overall a good place to stay if the beach is your top priority!

It's Time to Playa
At the centre of the Mayan Riveria is Playa del Carmen, a playground for hip Europeans and toned-and-tanned Americans. This resort town showcases the renowned white-sand beaches of the Caribbean Coast along the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico.
Playa del Carmen's powdery white sands are nestled between Cancun to its north, Tulum in the south and the island of Cozumel, 20 km east with its fantastic diving in the nearby Great Maya Reef. Awake from an afternoon nap to take a dip, go snorkelling or deep-sea fishing in the beautiful blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
Playa is an easy choice as a holiday destination with its range of hotels, many first-class restaurants and beachside nightclubs. Quinta Avienda, also known as 5th Avenue, is the main tourist hub and shopping district. For a more authentic Mexico experience, venture outside of the centre to a local cenote (sinkhole) or Mayan ruins in Tulum.
Cruise ships dock in nearby Cozumel and traffic people to the mainland arriving at the Playa del Carmen Maritime Terminal. If the glimmering Caribbean waters are full, then Booking.com has a huge number of hotels with an outdoor swimming pool by the beach.

Playa del Carmen is nice to visit with the beach only a few blocks from the downtown area. Xcaret is a must on your visit, we enjoyed this paradise archeological park full of natural wonders and Mexico’s culture in the middle of a jungle! Beautiful place!

Playa del Carmen is always my favorite town in the Mexican Riviera because is centrally located with a vast number of restaurants and entertainment
I know the Sargasso is a big problem but there is a lot of Pools and Cenotes to enjoy, or you can go to Cozumel or Isla Mujeres for the day and enjoy clean beaches

The people are friendly. The tourist sections are typical. The Caribbean offers more beautiful and scenic beaches than Playa. But Playa beaches are kept clean and well maintained. The majority of restaurants; 3 to 4-star food and usually 5-star service. Prices are very reasonable. Nightlife for twenty-somethings appeared readily available on 5th Ave. I liked it enough to say I would return should the opportunity present itself.

Playa del carmen, a vibrant city, although the beaches aren’t the most beautiful in Mexico, it is authentic and is the centre for activity.
Vendors on the streets push drugs but the police presence is heavy and I felt safe completely. Very hot, sun was being for the entire 7 days (1st till 8th March). Excellent location for excursions

Playa del Carmen is a very lively town, and the restaurants and bars are friendly. Food at most venues was good, but not all. The only downside is it is very expensive to eat and drink out every day and night in the town, hence we ate in some nights to keep the budget sensible during our holiday. Beaches we did not use due to the over-growth of the seaweed, which was a real shame, however, they have this problem year in and year out in this part of Mexico, so not fault of any residents or staff members at resorts etc. We organised an amazing boat trip, so were able to swim in the beautiful Ocean of this area, so not all bad!

The quality of foods and drinks , the resurants , the cleaners and the size of rooms and internal activities were excellent.
Unfortunately, the beach was so dirty and full of algae and ocean wastes , it smelled even very bad , it was not possible to swim or have activities in the beach in water. They did not mentioned that in their website !!

This is a city hotel in Playa del Carmen, the location is perfect to walk around and find restaurants and do some shopping. The parking is very convenient. From this hotel we visited Chichén Itzá, beautiful Valladolid, Tulum and the whole area including cenotes. Strongly recommend this hotel for its central location, clean and comfortable rooms. As I am coeliac they separately made some eggs in the kitchen during breakfast to avoid cross contamination, that’s very helpful for coeliac or gluten free people.

This hotel has an older feel, but it definitely has charm. The location is amazing – just a short walk to everything in Playa del Carmen, yet it's tucked away enough to be quiet and relaxing. The rooms are basic but very clean, and the staff is super kind and helpful. Daily cleaning is a big plus, and the Wi-Fi was solid for working online. Great value for the price – cozy, friendly, and just what you need for a comfortable stay.

It is amazing place, hotel located in tropical forest jungle, every day you can see koaties, aygumis, monkey, iguana. Staff is very polite and friendly. Food at buffet and restaurants very fresh and tasty. Beach is clean, big, water is Turquoise. Animation team does great work for aquagym, zumba, girls at mini club are kind and good to every child. It was really great choice and one of the best family holidays.

Great hotel, very clean and well maintained. Adults only so no kid noises. Most things worked well however at peak times there was very low water pressure in the shower and sink. T.V. did not always have working channels and none of the channels were in English. Staff was amazing and very very friendly. The hotel had a great location that empties out onto 5th ave. in Playa Del Carmen.
