The location is wonderful. I had a really pleasant stay at Pavilions. It was very close to Hagley as well and I enjoyed running around the area. The staff were very pleasant to interact with. The breakfast was simple but it was really good. There was a wide variety of dishes to choose from and there were some healthy options as well. The room was big and spacious with a lot of sunlight, cable tv was present with lot of channels (including sports ones) and the kitchen was fully stocked.

Taking the Tram day pass to explore the city is the best option. I am from Christchurch and had a friend staying with me in the City. I still find it hard to explore the city since the earthquakes, so taking the tram meant we could hop on off at all the places we wanted to see without aimlessly wandering about. Riverside Market is a must stop for eating and buying produce and goodies

Christchurch on a crisp, sunny winter's day is a great place to visit. Lots of cultural things to see and do including the Art Gallery. A walk by the Avon with a Peppermint Mocha Chocolate to warm up at the Riverside Market is great. The Quake City exhibition is really worth a visit. We had a drive to Sumner for fish and chips at the Beach Cafe and Ice Cream to follow.

Christchurch surprised me.
Christchurch surprised me.
The weather was lovely in Autumn when I visited.
If its a walking holiday you like your in luck here. Everything is within walking distance!
Hagley Park & Gardens in Autumn was without doubt the highlight. You must make time to explore it & that will take a day or two. You will not be disappointed with the Iiex Cafe delicious coconut cake with fresh raspberries! Eat it outside in the sun before you venture off to the Botanic & Rose Gardens.
The city itself is so quaint & easy to walk around or hop on & off the regular trams that rattle through the streets. After all that walking around you'll need to replenish at The Riverside Markets - a great place for a food tour with wine & whiskey too!
The CoCA Gallery & CHCH Art Gallery are lovely as is wandering around the cultural centre in that area & onto Worcester Boulevard.
Do dine at Fiddlesticks in the evening if you get the chance ...yum!
Must go to Little High & if pizza is your thing do not go past the pizza there!

It should be compulsory to visit the Quake Museum to understand why there are so many vacant lots. Christchurch is a modern city, extremely clean and everyone we talked to, is proud to live there. A must to visit are the Riverside Markets, The Church Brew Pub [a new experience!], the Art Gallery, the Arts Centre, take the bus to Lyttleton, a small fishermen village and, if possible, take the TranzAlpine train to Greymouth. We gave the trams a miss as we could walk everywhere from our accommodation but it is a fantastic way to see Christchurch from the comfort of the seat.

I was based in Hornby for my 3-day stay.
I was based in Hornby for my 3-day stay. The motel I used was perfectly placed for everything I needed to do, next to a lovely park and with easy access to restaurants and the Hub mall facilities for shopping. I wish I'd had a bit more time to explore how the city centre has changed since I was last there, but not this trip.
We only had one night in Christchurch after our train ride from Karkori and I had no idea if this hotel would allow for at least some walking about at night. I could not tell from the map though it said it was close to the centre. It was well situated . We were able to.walk to the centre for a bite to eat at the OGB ie the old government building and arranged for the taxi who erupted us off to take us to the airport the best morning. A hood choice and we'll located. Jz
Great stay at Urbanz last night. I was finishing a contiki tour in Christchurch so booked a double room. I was really happy with the spacious room, bathrooms were just outside and showers. Was really quiet in the room considering I was in room 117 beside the door to the kitchen and hallway. Showers were powerful and warm, bathroom facilities good. Cheaper than a hotel but 4 star hotel standards! Would definitely stay again.
The hosts were really nice. They live in a lovely property and the accommodation was very good, clean, comfortable and in a nice quiet area. Breakfast was also very good with cereals, toast, orange juice, fruit, etc. It is also a short walk to the Riccarton Sunday market, which was worth a visit. Overall a great place to stay especially if arriving or departing from Christchurch airport which is just up the road.
Hotel is very close to the centre of Christchurch and across the street from Great Regent Street. Lots of eateries closeby and a short walk across Cathedral Square to the Avon River and the bars and eateries located along the River. The room was spotlessly clean and modern. Good sized bathroom with lovely toiletries. We had views towards the town from the 10th floor.
Cheap (considering outrageous Christchurch standards) and within walking distance to the CBD. Clean and spacious, and it has a nice outside area to hangout. Plenty of parking spots available, although you have to share with the restaurant so it might be difficult at some times.
proximity to airport and cheaper than Novotel. Restaurant was great - particularly the male waiter who made us laugh and provided friendly efficient service. Good having an Alexa device in the room - had never experienced that before in the many hotels we’ve stayed at.
The Riccarton Hotel is in a great location, it has recently been refurbished. There are many good places to eat nearby, and it is a short walk to Hagley Park, close to the city centre, plus not too far from the airport.
The managers are friendly and helpful.
Great bedrooms, with large comfortable beds. Ensuite for each room was great for two couples. Very short walk across the road to the beach, and to various cafes. Easy access to Christchurch CBD and airport, with the bus stop just down the road.
The location was perfect!! Our flight from Brisbane was delayed, arriving into Christchurch late and exiting the airport around 2am. The hotel is visible from the exit doors of the airport! Friendly staff and apartment clean and comfortable.
So clean, cheap, close to the airport, warm and friendly. Such a good place, I wish all capsule hotels were like Jucy. Very secure, great air con in the actual capsule and the size was huge compared to some I've stayed in. 100% will be back.
Very nice hotel. Modern, new, clean rooms and facilities. Excellent hot breakfast with good variety.
Room has mini frig, air con, safe, Very close to airport. Perfect place to sat when flying in or out from Christchurch.
Spacious, clean, comfortable, great facilities, friendly staff, free parking, location near the park and walking distance from centre of Christchurch, short drive from airport. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
Very comfortable apartment with everything we needed. Fairly close to Christchurch CBD and easy to get to all places we wanted to go, including airport. Secure off street parking. Would definitely stay there again.
Solid experience for airport hotel. Super convenient. All facilities considerably above expectation in contrast to other airport hotel. Restaurant on roof was decent.
