The yoga, meditation, art and wine and coconut workshop and general Helpfulness of staff made up for the slightly run down dorm room. Nice retreat vibes, met lovely people. Lovely WhatsApp with daily message of the schedule of activities. Good space in the room and functional shared bathroom and kitchen. Enjoyed the walk to and from the beach. Enjoyed the zapatillo tour. Good luggage storage. The activities and jungle settling made the hostel stand out. Stunning beach!

This is a very nice place and away from the noise, but still quite close to where the boat comes in--maybe a ten minute walk. Bed was comfortable, room was comfortable. Air conditionning was good. Wifi worked well. 10% discount on breakfast which was not substantial, but made it comparable to restaurant outside, but very nice setting .Staff were super friendly and kind. Especially the women at the front desk, I was there a while ago so cannot remember their names unfortunately. It felt a bit luxorious, actually.

There is road construction EVERYWHERE. We had no problem with their shared taxi, which means you will have several people squeezed in with you, going more or less in the same direction, but with the construction, many times your cab will not be able to reach your destination. This is Mexico 40 years ago.

Charming tourist town with friendly people and great choice of restaurants. There was a lot of construction and construction noise on the Main Street during our visit which prevented us from exploring the whole town.

If I was 25 and wanted to drink all day, it might be the place for a vacation. Lots of bars and clubs. I food is ok if you can get pass the barkers in the street. If you get out of city central, you can find some lovely beaches, but they are packed with people. We stayed in town for 5 days and two days on an out Island. Be prepared for many of the three- and four-star hotels have no AC. I have traveled all over the world; this would be on the bottom of my list. They haven't taken care of the environment or the waters that bring people to this location.

Be sure to wear the right shoes walking around Bocas Town, as it can get muddy and there's currently construction in town for a new sewer system. While the locals can be a bit assertive and follow you around offering you tour options (and drugs), they'll back off if you say no thanks. Do not drink the tap water and ask for filtered water stations (I also stuck with beer & wine versus mixed drinks with ice). A group from my hostel rented E-bikes which was the right choice to visit Bluff Beach, which made for a great afternoon.

Right now the streets are under construction….
Right now the streets are under construction…. And I mean ALL the streets. It’s tough on the tourism industry for that reason. There may not have been as many people visiting as there normally would be at that time of year. However, don’t let that stop you from going. It’s a fantastic place to visit. So much to se and do. Excellent restaurants.

Bocas del Toro is an overestimated island, public infrastructure is awful, with mud, and potholes everywhere, very difficult to walk and get anywhere. Prices of the hotels and restaurants are slightly exaggerated in my view.
We arrived at the hotel, checked-in into our room, and were surprised by the amazing size of the room for 3, AC, with a side and frontal balcony, fridge, big, warm shower, really good breakfast, the cleanliness, friendliness and overall professionalism of everyone working there as well the owners. It was such a good stay, that we extended for 6 more nights, instead of looking for further accommodation in the area. For 1$ we reach Bocas Town in 5min and the owner has connections here, so we got discounts in some places. A treat!
First said: It‘s a really nice place!!! The location is stunning! It‘s just reachable by boat! They pick you up when you arrive and you habe your own hut on the water!! You can snorkel right there underneath! Equipment available at reception, not in best conditions but alright! The huts are really cool! you have so much space to hang around that‘s really cool!!
most of the staff was suuuper friendly!! the guy offers help if you want to book a tour!
This hostel is less than a block from where the ferry docks so sea views are abundant without the up charges for being right on the water. A walk to a beach to swim/beginner surf or dine in an inexpensive but delicious fonda is 15 min.
Between people attending the Spanish school and regular hostel guests who are diving, surfing, or otherwise touring, this is a very international experience. There is a great youthful vibe.
Excelent choice in Bocas Town. Very good location. Close (by walk) to main boat docks and restaurant and bars. In pool area is very good chilli vibe. Staff is really nice and helpful, especially on recepcion. They organized everything for us, even the tours and boat took us on the hotel pier (so you dont need to negotiate with locals on street).
Everything! Very comfortable large room with TV that was quiet room considering it’s in the heart of Bocas Town. They had plenty of free purified water, provided breakfast and free shuttle to airport.
Highly recommend staying here vs any BnB on Saigon Bay where it’s further away and dogs barking all night.
The hotel has a nice quiet location in Bocas town, very nice sun & bathing platform, nice restaurant on the water, everything well maintained & very modern and clean. The staff was outstanding friendly, reception, housekeeping, restaurant- just great. The food with a Greek touch war marvellous.
This hotel is no longer Azul Bocas town. It has changed owners and changed its name. It is not a 4 star hotel. Closer to a run down 2 star. Badly run, not clean. Dirty floor. Broken curtains. Peeling wallpaper. No drinking water in the room. Staff pleasant but not helpful.
Palmar offers a great spot to stay in the heart of the jungle with a great beach location. Being secluded was nice for a quieter spot away from Bocas Town. We enjoyed the activities planned each day/night as well as the services provided + cleanliness of the resort.
This place is only a 15min boat from bocas town but feels like 100km away, truly another world.
tranquility and beautiful nature abound. The property is run very professionally and has a very warm and inviting ambiance. I definitly will visit again some time.
Simple but nice apartment in the heart of Bocas Town. The style suits very well with the soul of the Bocas. Johnny, the owner, is a really funny, helpful and friendly guy. Excellent location - just 180 m from the port and 500 m from the airport.
Nancy and her family and the housekeeper are super friendly. I really liked the guest house on the waterfront and even though the location wasn't as I expected I really liked the location. About 15min walk from town and 15min bike to beach.
I loved that it was right on the water. Xavier and Virginia were wonderful hosts, very accommodating and helpful, but not intrusive. They let you do your thing. Virginia is an amazing chef. Breakfast and dinner were fantastic.
The location on the water is beautiful. I imagine it's the only reason people keep booking here. The only thing they do very well is keeping the place clean, with staff constantly mopping and wiping things down.
The location is great, right on the water. However, it is a party hostel and next to two other clubs so it’s very loud until 5am most nights. The common areas are nice as well
Location was great, a none smoking and smoking area for guests was very nice for relaxing. I would recommend this place for anyone looking to spend a few days in Bocas Town.
