The apartment was extremely clean and well equipped. Although it was in the centre of town it was very quiet and felt safe. The organisation and information given from Rita and Gustavo was exceptional. We would love to stay there again.

Welcome to one of the most emblematic quarters in Lisbon, the birth place of Fado! It´s a restored ground-floor apartment, with independent entrance through a private courtyard where you can enjoy a meal outdoors. The apartment has 40m2 area and is full furnished and equipped with fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, oven, vitroceramic hob, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, kettle, stick blender, iron and ironing board, vacuum cleaner, hair dryer, free WI-FI everything needed for 3 guests. It has a master bedroom with double bed, living room with sofa-bed and bathroom. The accessibilities are a strong point of our location since we are only 15min away from the airport (by car) and a couple of minutes walking to the bus stop, 28 tram stop, Martim Moniz metro station, taxi plaza and Rossio Train station that can take you to Sintra and Cascais. The whole surrounding area offers dozens of restaurants, traditional shops, super markets, Fado houses, cafes, shops and pharmacies. Once we are in the heart of the city you can walk through the narrow streets and discover the main sights which are near to the apartment as São Jorge Castel, Alfama, Chiado (...)
Our names are Gustavo&Rita. We are a team of brothers and sister from Azores, a beautiful Portuguese volcanic archipelago in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. We are easygoing brothers who like to interact with foreigners and help them to discover this beautiful city that we choose for ourselves. Our goal is to make you feel like at home!
Mouraria is where the Moors were allowed to live after the conquest of Lisbon in 1147 before being expelled together with the Jews in 1497. Little survives from that period except for traces of the medieval wall but this curiously remains the most multiethnic neighborhood in the city. The majority of the foreign population is from Bangladesh, followed by immigrants from China, India, Pakistan, and Mozambique. It's nonetheless a very authentically Lisbon neighborhood known as the birthplace of Fado. It was here that the first great Fado singer lived in the 1800s, the legendary Severa who fell in love with a count and took the music of the people to the aristocracy. Mouraria life has always been marked by the sound of the guitars, the sound of taverns, brothels music, glasses of wine between friends and Fado. And it’s still there. But this identity joined many others identities and today, rising from the Mall of Mouraria, there is Cape Verdean music, Indian flavors, Brazilian rhythms, Pakistani flavors, Mozambican dishes and Asian mills. It had become a very rundown neighborhood until major renovations starting in 2009 put it back on the map.
