FAQs about hotels in Faro
The average price per night for a 3-star hotel in Faro this weekend is £88 or, for a 4-star hotel, £205. Looking for something even fancier? 5-star hotels in Faro for this weekend cost around £377 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).
Faro is the picturesque capital of the Algarve region, offering colourful streets and buildings, Moorish influence, and typical Portuguese charm. It is encompassed by the lagoon of Ria Formosa Natural Park, and offers wide beaches, a laid-back atmosphere, and a vibrant nightlife.
Occupied by Phoenicians and Carthaginians, and once an important Roman harbour and Moorish culture capital, it was almost flattened by the 1755 earthquake. Happily, the historic centre survived and is today one of best preserved in Algarve. Choosing a hotel in Faro’s Old Town will allow you to have a more authentic Portuguese experience.
The long, sandy beach of Praia de Faro is 7 km from the city, and the beach on Barreta Island –also known as Deserta - is probably the most tranquil in the region. Hotels near the beach in Faro and the surrounding towns of Olhão, Tavira, Quinta do Lago, Quarteira and Vilamoura, are all excellent ways to enjoy sunny Portugal.
Faro International Airport offers connections throughout Europe, and the city also offers ferry, railway, and bus links. Whether you need a beach resort or a hotel near Faro Airport, check out the wide offer available on Booking.com!

We love travelling and generally take a couple of breaks during the year.
So we hope to visit you again early next year. Could you please quote us
for a weeks stay for two of us for next January or February.
We generally go cruising later on in the year and we like taking 3 or 4 day
breaks on our west coast in Ireland.
Your hotel is a gem, a boutique hotel which we were lucky to visit.
We hope to see you again early next year.

Food. Definitely the food. Delicious and at a good price.
Food. Definitely the food. Delicious and at a good price. The city is also nice, great for evening or morning walks. And the Natural Park is great to see.
I wouldn't bother with the Castle restaurant, the view is nice, staff is nice, but prices are a bit high and you can't pay by card. Taberna Modesto just next to it was sublime. You don't get the sunset, but the atmosphere is very nice and food is delicious and not as expensive.
Plenty of places for morning coffee and breakfast, if you're into that.
The Forum Algarve is another good place to visit. Great for shopping and eating and a very nice place overall to spend your day,

We normally use Faro as a 1 night stay en route to other parts of the Algarve. However, we may now have more holidays in Faro itself. We discovered the ferry, where for 3.50 Euro you can have a return ticket to Faro beach, which is a great day out. There are so many restaurants all within walking distance, but the standout place has to be Pigs and Cows - a great eating experience. Generally, eating out in Faro has improved immeasurably since the last time I visited (pre-Covid).

Faro is a lovely place for a short getaway.
Faro is a lovely place for a short getaway. I wouldn't stay for more than 3 nights and would probably say 2 nights is ideal. There are plenty of places in the Algarve around Faro which would make it a great starting point before a longer trip to other places. We really liked the shopping mall, the beach was nice but it was windy while we were there. Mostly we spent time in our hotel by the pool enjoying the sun.
The food was relatively cheap and good quality, we mostly just ate at restaurants down one street near where we stayed.
Getting around was very easy. We'd planned to use the bus but Bolt taxis were incredibly cheaper (even cheaper with a discount code plastered all over the airport) so we opted for that and walking.
I probably wouldn't visit again as we've done everything that was on offer but if I did go back, I'd make sure to have a hotel with a pool again as we spent most of our time there.

We chose Faro as it has a short flight time a short transfer from the airport and good weather (we wanted a 3 night break) We weren't sure what to expect as Faro isn't really known as a holiday destination! It is awesome! Beaches, trips, architecture, restaurants, the Old Town, bars, great sunsets and storks! Oh and the rosè is lovely!
The bus from the airport #16) takes 20 mins, drops you at the terminal about a 10 mins walk from marina area (dragging cases). We liked
'O Coreta' on the marina, ate there 2 nights and had drinks there as well. Nice vibe, live music, fantastic paella!
From communications prior to arrival, to right throughout the stay, this was a lovely property!
Key pick up was next door in a bakery, which also provided a wonderful breakfast! The room was large, bright and spacious and the (shared) bathroom was clean and modern. The kitchen was very well equipped, and there were tables and chairs outside, and in a roof top terrace for al fresco dining!
There were plenty of good eating options close by (some recommended by Casa Portugal) and Faro itself was a surprisingly attractive town to visit!
Location is very good it is in heart of faro city in beach side near to faro bus station 4 minutes walk and faro train station 9 minutes walk and many restaurants around
In faroway hostel it self there is have a kitchen and mini bar in upstairs very good for relaxing and view to city centre.
I with family very enjoyed staying there
I recommend to family and friends and to tourists who wants to visit to faro portugal Faroway hostel is the best.
It was really a great hotel, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good, something for everyone, everything made fresh, plenty of variety, in short great! Really recommend it!!!
The other facilities such as the infinity pool, indoor pool, sauna, Turkish bath and the gym were also more than fine, nicely finished and very clean. From the roof terrace you had a beautiful view of Faro and its surroundings.
Really great villa in the hills peace and quite, great room size and swimming pool with a fully equipped kitchen if you want to cook some nice home meals. The host were absolutely fantastic with breakfast served every morning fresh fruits fresh orange juice coffee etc, it's perfect to spend the days exploring the beachs and towns in Portugal and comeing back to the villa for some peace and quite, I will definitely be returning.
Location, and the staff especially.
Plus the food /breakfast was lovely ----lots of choice..
However, the tea /coffee machines were at a minimum. Could do with installing a few more machines cos it's frustrating to have to queqe so long--whilst your breakfast is getting cold.
However, I would not hesitate to return to this fabulous hotel again, if I was returning to Portugal.
The hotel staff were excellent in all respects, from the very friendly, helpful, efficient team on reception, the shuttle bus drivers, breakfast and bar staff and the cleaners. Although the hotel is located about halfway between the airport/beach and central Faro, the daily shuttle bus and other transport links made the location work.
Helpful and friendly hosts who supplied every need. Spacious and well cared for apartments tastefully converted giving a sense of openness and space. Ideally located in the old centre of Faro with all amenities nearby. Faro itself with its international airport a perfect introduction to a trip around Portugal.
The location was perfect, literally a stone throw away from one of the best beaches in Portugal, and so close to Faro airport.
The host was amazing, Marcos gave us all the local knowledge and recommended the best places to go, and also stocked up the apartment kitchen with all the basics needed.
A good hotel in a central location, close to the airport, bars, restaurants, and cafes. A short walk from the old town and the centre of Faro. A nice interior, with good kitchen facilities. The hotel staff are great and they're always available to help.
peaceful and quiet. we had spent a few days in the city, busy every day and it was lovely to spend our last days in Portugal relaxing at the pool which was lovely and the beach which was easy to get to. Close to the airport for our return flight.
I liked everything I saw!
I needed to close to the Airport!
It was just perfect, very clean line location !
Awesome costumer service! They above and beyond to costumers in whatever needed!.
I recommend to everyone who a good hotel in Faro.
I loved it here. The balcony buffet was lovely in every way. The facilities were clean and inviting. I enjoyed the sauna and steam room. There is also a hotel shuttle to the beach. I will stay here again when I make it back to lovely Faro!
The location was great for exploring the town nearby and easy to get to from the bus station (and a short uber ride to the airport). The staff were wonderful and very friendly! We borrowed a beach umbrella for our day trip to Faro beach.
The staff is friendly and check-in fast. The location is convenient, close to the airport and Faro beach. The room is clean and has everything you need for a short stay. I would not book this hotel for a long stay.
The location was good for getting to the airport and a taxi ride to Faro Beach but this hotel didn’t seem didn’t for more than a night or two. Room was clean, bed comfortable and staff helpful and friendly.
The hotel was close to the center and it was easy to get to most of Faro's delights. The rooms were simple but clean and comfortable. There are shared patios for guests to enjoy, which was a nice touch.
Great hotel situated between Faro city and the beach. Note that you'll need a taxi or bus for the beach, but overall, it's a convenient location for city and seaside exploration.
Location to the airport was handy - less than 500m down the road. The pool area is nice on a hot afternoon in the Portugal sun. The rooms were clean and beds comfy.
the staff were all friendly and accommodating. the room was on the beach with a beautiful view. we found this place from a YouTube video on Faro travel
