Faro is a great place to relax as it has lots of shops, restaurants and cafés within walking distance. The airport is also nearby and there is easy access to the city via public transport as well. Finally, there are plenty of small supermarkets to buy snacks or refreshments in!
So many nice shops for clothing. The town itself is nice too for the eye. Nice architecture and flat, not hilly. Nice beaches but just no shade on the beach. The old town is nothing special, 5 restaurants and empty streets. Lovely churches and of course the food and wine are divine.
Strange mix. Few places fantastic and few of them just ruin. Big potential for future, but many investments required. Close to the airport, so you have landing plains around the clock. Many construction works in the city so if you are not lucky construction noise is sorounding.
The hotel was great and had great views. The weather didn't cooperate so didn't get out too much, but was able to walk the town. Would have liked to explore more out and about on the water, but the town of Faro was not too interesting to us.
Great place to stay as a central point to travel around the Algarve area of Portugal. Faro has some nice restaurants, bars and coffee to enjoy. The city itself is a little rundown in places but very beautiful in other areas, water front area and the old fortress areas. Watch out if you renting a car with Goldcar as they really put emotional pressure on you to buy their comp insurance at £29 per day, got ripped off on this one and the Fist 500 had bumps and scraps on just about every panel(took pic’s to prove it). If you want to have eat out lunch try Mavala restaurant in Largo da Magdalena 10, good price very high quality food, evening meal try the Chelsea restaurant again good food and good value. A must to go and visit while in Faro is a small boat trip to Praia da Faro, if you like the beach and a quirky place to visit you will love this place, boat trip is only €3:50 return for each person. We traveled around the whole of the Algarve and if you don’t mind driving go to Sagres the furthest SW point in Portugal, totally different vibe in this area, lots of surfing people and scenery is spectacular. We also went to Lagos with its small little cobbled streets, Loule Saturday market is worth a visit, Ayamonte, Olhao and Tavira which is a lovely little town.
Amazing natural reserves in the area. The lagoon and its birds and animals is an attraction on its own. Several boat services are available to explore the natural beauties of teh area. The city itself is cute and the distance from several beaches quite short. Food and weather are amazing, especially in April/May.
The Monaco Hotel were very good to provide accommodation after easy jet cancelled our flight at last minute and left us abandoned at Faro Airport. The Monaco was just a short taxi ride away and were most welcoming. Very clean and tidy hotel with warm friendly staff, even though the barman wasn’t expecting a rush if guests at that time on a Saturday evening he coped remarkably well catering for everyone’s food and refreshments requests.
The aeromar is an honest small well run clean hotel, in a most astonishing location, I stay here a few nights every year, just to escape London..... Its 3km from faro airport ona non touristy locals beach, walks are amazing, local fish restaurants fab, and you can get a 45min beautiful water taxi to old town faro for €1:45, need a mid week or weekend no frills hideaway ..... This is your spot
Faro
For the price good choice. Area close to centre but real life Faro not tourist hot spot. Parking. In street easy and seemed safe enough. Local bakery and other shops excellent Vegan restaurant 5 mins walk Staff extremely welcoming ......you can not go wrong for 30€. I like a lot big common rooms. There is a bar, and many possibilities a play the games. Staff here is very nice and friendly as well. They offer to possibilities a print the ticket for a plane. You may have get as much information You can about Faro and Portugal. You can make new friends here. It is like little Paradise island in Faro.
Great location, breakfast, and free, close, parking, staff very helpful and arranged trip to docks and boat tour. We got picked up and taken back from the Hotel. We also got tips on shops and restaurants close by. Able to walk few blocks to old town Faro. Wonderful experience there!
Location. Best Hotel in Faro. Good food and modern. Staff couldn’t be more helpful and very friendly. Roof top bar I had the best Amaretto Sour I have ever had - superb- great way to end a holiday. Only 15 mins from airport. Faro old town 5 mins walk away - a hidden gem.
Hotel was prefect for our purposes, just 500 meters from Faro airport, a small but nice pool, clean good sized rooms and a decent breakfast as well as parking space. Great for spending one night before flying out and sightseeing in Faro for a decent price.
Very well located and clean. To catch our flight we arranged a 4:00 am check out. The night clerk greeted us at 4:00 am with a smile, coffee and hot croissants. Forget the bricks and mortar, the people were 5 star in a 2 star hotel.
the bus stop to the Faro airport is a 8 minute walk from the hotel and you can continue to the beach on the island & go to Faro Town where there is a rail stn to all parts of Portugal.
