Very basic accommodations but all I needed was a bed for the night. The staff was helpful, arranged an airport cb and let me stow my suitcase until check in. The location was great, near the restaurants and attractions of Old Town Faro. The price was great for my end of vacation budget!

I can’t say enough positive things about out this hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful from the moment you check in to breakfast the next day. The breakfast was SPECTACULAR with homemade fresh yogurt, chia seed pudding, tons of fresh baked goods, fabulous jams, and anything you want any made to order (yes, they use real eggs) including a latte, etc. The room was immaculate and tastefully appointed with a lemon tree off the patio! Will definitely come back! They clearly put a premium on customer service.

FAQs about hotels in Faro

Colourful, Historic, and Sunny

Faro is the picturesque capital of the Algarve region, offering colourful streets and buildings, Moorish influence, and typical Portuguese charm. It is encompassed by the lagoon of Ria Formosa Natural Park, and offers wide beaches, a laid-back atmosphere, and a vibrant nightlife.

Occupied by Phoenicians and Carthaginians, and once an important Roman harbour and Moorish culture capital, it was almost flattened by the 1755 earthquake. Happily, the historic centre survived and is today one of best preserved in Algarve. Choosing a hotel in Faro’s Old Town will allow you to have a more authentic Portuguese experience.

The long, sandy beach of Praia de Faro is 7 km from the city, and the beach on Barreta Island –also known as Deserta - is probably the most tranquil in the region. Hotels near the beach in Faro and the surrounding towns of Olhão, Tavira, Quinta do Lago, Quarteira and Vilamoura, are all excellent ways to enjoy sunny Portugal.

Faro International Airport offers connections throughout Europe, and the city also offers ferry, railway, and bus links. Whether you need a beach resort or a hotel near Faro Airport, check out the wide offer available on Booking.com!

Small and compact city, old, cobbled streets, nice shops, beautiful marina, stunning cathedral with a tower with views and great traditional food. Easy to walk around, felt very safe as a solo traveller. Ate lunch at Cantinho da Ronha (recommended by hotel owner) superb food.

    It’s only a smaller area.

It’s only a smaller area. We stayed in Faro and did day trips elsewhere. However, the town centre is lovely. We did spend a day walking around, there was just enough to take in with lots of nice places to eat. We would also come back in the evenings after our day trips and enjoy the sunset at the marina. Public transport is easy and affordable. All restaurants we went to were affordable and absolutely delicious. The cathedral in the old town is gorgeous, especially the view up top. We recommend wandering the outside streets and soaking in Portuguese culture. And taking a few evenings to watch the sunset at Praia de Faro, or the marina.

An incredibly charming town, bustling with life, especially in the evening. Countless atmospheric cafes and restaurants where you can spend a pleasant time. I especially recommend "O CASTELO", very nice service and an amazing music band, I will definitely go back there and take friends with me.

Faro is scruffy, has lots of derelict buildings, graffiti and poorly maintained cobbled pavements. The Boat trip from Faro to the beach and Culatra island are reasonably priced and well worth visiting. Beaches along this coast are fabulous. Took the train from Faro to Tavira, it is cheap, and Tavira is clean and well maintained and has a lovely castle and beach.

It`s a very small city that needed more attention concerning its colonial and historical houses. It`s a need to survive nowadays with tourism. If you are vegetarian, go straight to Vida Leve Vegetariano, good food, good price, no complaints at all. Everything fresh. Bertrand library is a good place to buy some books. You can do everything in Faro walking

The hotel location isn’t best for getting to central Faro or beach but is only like 7minutes drive from airport which is nice. Breakfast was really good and all stuff were nice and helpful. It also has a gym and pool and free parking is just in front of the hotel.
