Great hotel (AP Eva Senses), lovely marina, lively shopping area with lots of restaurants and cafes from which to choose. Usual attractions well presented for tourists who have not visited before. Overall, Faro is an attractive town on the Algarve - well worth a visit.
Lovely place around the harbour.. Great selections of bars and restaurants and plenty of shops for all prices Near airport and main motorway for visiting other places Historic places to visit nearby
Loads of bars, cafes & restaurants ooen until late. Lovely marina, great boat trips to lovely locations, including lots of nature trips. Very beautiful beaches. Friendly, helpful people. Be aware the pavements are uneven & have many holes & trip hazards- so not ideal for those not steady on their feet. The train line runs along the coast & is an excellent cheap way to reach the pretty towns & other beaches along the coast. Lovely little science museum with aquarium which had great roof cafe with amazing views over the estuary. Free ckean safe water fountain for refilling water bottles in the park near the marina. Will be back!
How often do you fly into Faro and bypass it to get to the Algarve? We used Faro itself as a destination and also a launchpad to explore the eastern algarve (the bit between Faro and the Spanish Border). Faro has a long and interesting history of different occupations (romans , Visigoths , moors , christians) and stories that reflect these occupations (expulsion of jews / moors / inquisition ) much of which is evident through a guided tour of the old town and a visit to the Municipal Museum. Much of the old town and the area around it is being revived through restoration of old buildings. Good Quality restaurants , cafes and shopping abound. A trip out to the Ria Formosa is essential and in particular take lunch at Aqua Chill Seafood Bar (the food is stunning) on Culatra (a fishing village on one of the sand islands). Our 'go to' restaurant in Faro was Cantinho (food also exceptional) just inside the Old City Gates
A wonderful, walkable city with LOTS of great restaurants, Fado concerts, concerts at Lethes Theatre and Faro Figuras Theatre, boat tours, exceptional churches to see, easy and inexpensive access to other towns by train or bus.
Faro is a city that is being revitalized. The city streets were very interesting and seemed alive with everyday life. People were friendly (for the most part). Some of the staff at the museums were not very welcoming but those in retail and hospitality were very happy to see us. I want to give a big shout out to Two Dogs (wood working business) The owns were very friendly and the handcrafted wood items were affordable and make one of a kind souvenirs.
The hotel was superb on every way. The breakfasts were outstanding with a wonderful selection of high quality items. The rooms were beautiful and spacious. The staff were incredibly helpful. As an example, after we boarded our train to leave Faro my wife noticed that she left her iPad in our room. She called the hotel and an employee brought it to the train station within 5 minutes.
The hotel is right in the city centre. Very close to the bus terminal (3 min walk) so getting too and from the airport was very simple. The staff were really friendly. The room was larger than I was expecting and the bathroom was really big too. Everything was neat, tidy and clean and I would have no issue recommending the hotel as a place to stay if you are travelling to Faro.
Valentina is a kind host and gave me a warm welcome into her B&B. The room is comfortable and the accomodation location is very close to the Faro bus and train stations and the restaurants. She also gave very good information of the covid situation in Portugal and made me feel comfortable. She responds very quickly to messages which I also greatly appreciate!!
Faro
The receptionist that I met was just wonderful! Inês was just so invested in making my trip to Faro as enjoyable as possible! She was so super helpful and as my first point of contact in Portugal, she really set the tone. Staff like Inês are hard to find, she's one in a million! Thank you for setting the tone for a beautiful 3 weeks in Portugal! 🙏❤️🥰
Praia de Faro, Faro
Great beach-side hotel located on Faro beach, about 5 minutes from the airport. AC was cold and the hotel is right on the beach with beach towels and umbrella provided upon request. Roof-top offers great views of Faro beach and about a 10 minute walk from the ferry into Faro. Breakfast was quite nice.
The hotel was close to the airport for an early morning flight. The hotel was close to shopping that I wanted to do the day before my flight. The reception employee recommended a very nice restaurant that was only 5 minutes' walk which was good the night before a long travel day.
Faro
the design, the very friendly staff (and dog Pandabear!) it is a cosy and quaint little boutique hotel in the center close to the old town. Our room wasn’t really big but big enough for the two nights we stayed. We loved staying there!
Exactly what it says "on the tin". Hotel within easy walking distance from Faro Airport. Very clean, lovely staff, basic but comfortable rooms. Added bonus of having pool on site.
Great location close to Faro airport. The hotel was clean, had modern decor, reasonable size bedrooms and comfortable beds. Would definitely recommend.
