I personally love Faro so I am buyest.
I personally love Faro so I am buyest. It's a small vibrant city with lots of charm and character. People are lovely and there are great amenities in the city and the vicinity. I think it's a great place to stay for a sunny holiday for whoever likes the sea, the heat, the countryside and a mediterranean way of life.

Nice old town. Plenty of shops and restaurants. We were there for the European Football and they had a great fanzone by the marina. Ferry to the beach area very good 3.90 euros return and very frequent. Swim in the Atlantic or on the lagoon. Plenty of restaurants.

Faro is an interesting place to stay.
Faro is an interesting place to stay. There's several things to do -museums, small art galleries, historical old city, beach via a ferry which I'd a great trip, bird watching, nature reserves, indoor market with amazing fruit, fish, meat and bread. Other towns and cities in the Algarve and further afield are easily reached by train or coach. There are several cafes and restaurants and it's quite different from southern Spain. People are friendly and most speak English. We'll definitely go back.

I am a frequent visitor to the algarve and this was a perfect stay to commute to other areas in the algarve. 2 min drive from the airport (5euros) 20 min Uber to Vale do Lobo. The house is new and beautiful. Customer service it 10/10

Faro is a beautiful place. Great food and drinks on the doorstep of Faro Hotel. Beaches 20 minutes drive away. Lots of shops to see and prices for food reasonable. Could do the whole of Faro in a day. Ubers are plentiful there. We took one to a beautiful beach where you get served on the beach. Not sure if there is enough to entertain children. A certain 1950s charm to the hotel but, see below... More suitable for the warm days of summer, when you spend all of your time outdoors. Only five minutes from the airport by bus or taxi, but not too noisy, as not under the flight path of the aircraft. The same bus takes you regularly into the town of Faro - and there is also a ferry into town, a 30 minute trip well worth taking, cheaper than the bus!
