Spectacular location with ocean view. Interesting walk to waterfall from Hotel. A wonderful breakfast was included. Dinner available in the Hotel was also good.
The infinity pool and bar really added a spa feeling to our stay.

Our time at Escarpa was absolutely incredible! The staff was wonderful, the property was beautiful, the breakfast was amazing and the restaurant, 90 Degrees, was also incredible - the staff, the food and the service! Our stay was so quiet and peaceful. We would absolutely stay here again!

Ponta do Sol in itself is nothing really special.
Ponta do Sol in itself is nothing really special. But given the fact that you have rental car you can just discover the whole island. It is highly recommended to visit Calheta, there is a very nice harbour and little boulevard. Must go there is restaurant Manifattura Di Gelato. Another very good restaurant is La Vaca Negra in Funchal; best steaks ever!

Such a pretty little place - lots of winding streets - many pedestrian only, and good restaurants too. We mostly ate at the hotel, but also at a restaurant called Caprice which was fantastic and great value for money. We were delighted to find lots of interesting sculpture around the place which was fascinating, and the people were all very chilled and welcoming. The pavements are mostly cobbled, and of course there are lots of hills so challenging if your mobility is reduced as my parent's was - didn't stop us though - we just took our time and there were regular places to sit and rest along the way.

Its a very good place to base yourself as its very easy to get around the island from there, there are may different walks within a short drive.. It is a very small but quaint place. You get the most amazing sunsets in Ponta do Sol .

After seeing all of the towns and villages in Madeira, we liked Ponta do Sol the most. It's really welcoming with nice people and beautiful houses. And of course - Ponta do Sol is the sunniest town in Madeira!

Jonas, Valerio & Telma we can't thank you enough for everything and it was so great to chat to you. Food at the hotel was great and the team had such good local suggestions that we checked out and loved. Steak & Sun in Ponta do Sol as well as A Taberna Madalena do Mar on the beach. Really recommend! The hotel is pretty small and boutique so super quiet and relaxing. We can't wait to come back :) Laura & Adi x

The interior was modern and spotless with all amenities thought of. The check in and out was brilliant, we were met by Sidonia from ‘A Home in Madeira’. During our stay we also met the owner who was very pleased to meet with us. The hot tub and BBQ area was a fantastic bonus. Generally you need a car, as the property is located high enough, though you can walk down to the beach, which takes 30 mins. Really helpful managers - Christian and Margaret. Great view from balcony. Barbecue facilities, though we didn’t use them, as there are plenty of restaurants in Ponta do Sol and Ribeira Brava.

Downstairs bedroom might be a bit noisy if the windows were open and the restaurant was noisy, but upstairs no problem. Look closely at your messages for finding the entrance to the unit. The instructions are clear and easy to follow so long as you look (unlike me hahaha), but the host answered the phone and was able to help.

It has a nice terrace with great facilities for barbecue. Everything was very clean and we were welcomed with a awesome gift basket of local goods by which we felt really welcomed. Upon request Carlos provided additional child equipment like kids bed, high chair, towel and even some toys :-). Which was really valuable for us!
