The room was very surprising from this price. We were shocked. It was brand new, so clean and big enough for couples. The bathroom was also so clean and new. Most of the attractions were so close by walk. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

FAQs about hotels in Prague

Discover the Magic of Prague

The Czech capital is nothing short of magical, with Prague’s countless bridges, cathedrals, domes and castles reflected in the Vltava River. Thankfully, the city escaped most of WWII’s destruction, leaving the rich history and fairytale facade of this Bohemian city intact.

Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle complex in the world and the St. Vitus Cathedral is a stunning example of Gothic architecture. The Cathedral’s lookout tower rewards those willing to climb 300 steps with the best view of the city.

Walking through the cobblestone streets of the Mala Strana district will bring you to the Charles Bridge. Prague’s beautiful 14th-century monument buzzes with musicians and local crafts sales. The Astronomical Clock, Tyn Church, and Storch building of Old Town compete for popularity with the neoclassical Estate Theatre and the Czech National Museum.

The cafes and restaurants of Wenceslas Square are great for people watching and the Franz Kafka house, the Old New Synagogue and Frank Gehry’s Dancing House are perfect for soaking up history.

Flights arriving at Vaclav Havel International Airport will be in the city center after a short subway ride. For historic hotels, cheap hostels or charming apartments head to Booking.com for nearly 700 accommodations in Prague.

A very busy city but easy to get around without using transport. Restaurants are everywhere so easy to get food. Tours available needed to be more explicit as a tour we took ended up as a four hour walking tour as opposed to the bus and walk we had expected. Also guides all need to have mikes so all people can hear them clearly.

A wonderful, historic, culturally unique city.

A wonderful, historic, culturally unique city. Full of quintessential central-European architecture, and yet often with a uniquely Prague twist due to Prague's having been a centre of the Art Nouveau movement. Lovely cafes and beer houses. Central European food is typically not quite my favourite, but I believe it's best in Prague/Czech Republic. Definitely worth trying. Think duck breast in cranberry sauce with dumplings and pickled cabbage on the side. The city's historic is particular and unique, and the art museums are top-class. The bookshops are a great place to learn about and sample the Czech Republic (especially Prague's) ridiculously rich twentieth-centre literature scene. Kafka is most famous, but he's just the tip of the iceberg (I recommend Bohumil Hrabal). The city is divided into two by a river. On the east, the main highlight is the old town, including the immensely historical Jewish Quarter with its synagogues. To the west, the street become more grand and stately, with the palace complex on top of the hill a highlight. The river itself is a gem. You can descend from the streets to the shoreline, filled with chic bars in arches under the wall and with boats that have been repurposed as restaurants and open-air beer halls. You can instead cross the bridges and enjoy the scenic views, especially from the iconic Charles Bridge of course.

The city is prepared for a demanding traveller. So many places of good food for whatever budget. Night life invites by it’s safety and easy to use public transport. Language is not a problem, if you know some English. Museums and public transport are connected by easy signs, rates are discountable for students and senior travelers. Shopping is interesting - some local brands offer image making service for free as extra bonus.

At the airport you will have an opportunity to buy the Prague pass. This is a great idea. We could ride the bus and the Metro and the major attractions like the astronomical clock tower, elevator and guided tour were all free with the pass. Getting around Prague can be confusing, be sure to carry the map of the city and simplified Metro map. Google maps is almost a must, but be sure you update your trip if you entered it more than 15 mins before you start. The high tower bridge has a wonderful array of street art and jewelry offerings. Most of the time, credit cards are accepted, but be sure and get some Euros, most bathrooms (WCs) are 1 Euro per visit. We loved the Botanical Gardens too.

Prague is a truly magical city, where history and culture come alive at every corner. The stunning architecture, from Gothic churches to Baroque palaces, creates an unforgettable old-world charm. Walking across Charles Bridge at sunrise or exploring the Old Town Square feels like stepping into a living museum. The city is also very walkable, with plenty of cozy cafés, vibrant restaurants, and hidden courtyards to discover. While it can get crowded during peak hours, Prague remains one of Europe’s most enchanting destinations.

What a wonderful city,so much to see and do.

What a wonderful city,so much to see and do. The views and architecture amazing. The many museums well organised. The boat trips informative and the public transport very easy. ( which is free for us seniors) Lots of history and walking uphill, so good shoes needed👍🏻 As a vegetarian, the food was a bit of a challenge, but the cheese is good.

The location of this hotel is excellent for walking around the city centre, just around the corner from Wenceslas square and then walk down the boulevard to old town square. Plenty of restaurants and bars around to suit all tastes. The room was really nice with a fantastic view across the city to the castle, beds were nice and comfy and a good hot shower. The rooftop bar is also good for a drink to watch the sun setting.

The location is the best in Prague in the midddle of the old town square which is pedestrian with lots of restaurants and most importantly absolutely opposite the world famous clock. After a long day of sight seeing we would have a glass of wine in our hands and watch the clock chime from the comfort of the Grand Hotel Prague's gorgeous lounge. A sight that absolutely must not be missed.
